The farmhouse is lovely, we arrived on a busy Friday night and although couldn't get a table in the restaurant we ate a nice meal in the bar area. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful, especially the manager (we believe her to be) on me raising the issue of road noise in the room we stayed in our first night. We wouldn't normally have worried about raising it as an issue but due to some personal reasons my husband required more rest on this trip and she offered us a move without any hesitation.
Some road noise in room 1, it is a busy A Road, as well as the music from the pub below (which did turn of around 11, we think!) The breakfast menu options were fairly limited if you wanted a lighter breakfast (without overpaying for a croissant and yoghurt).

Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Room was a little cold, especially the bathroom but thankfully there was a portable heater which was nice. Restaurant is nice and cosy.
I asked for an extra blanket as room was a little cold and I was given a sheet?! Also the sofa bed was very uncomfortable and squeeky so my son shared the double bed with me instead which wasn't ideal as i booked an extra bed for a reason.

Staff friendly from the moment we walked in. Nice welcoming and checked in fine. Although I wasn't told the name of the room, I was just advised of a room number, but all rooms were named. I had to go back downstairs to find out the name. But other than that, all was OK. Great staff, good food, and comfy bed. My only complaint with the room, was the shower in my room meant I couldn't even get in it ... the way the doors were, it was so tight. Unless are of a small build, be mindful when getting room old major.
The shower was so tight to get in it if you were not of a small build....

We had stayed before and visited the pub for meals in the past as well. The rooms had just been refurbished and are attractively decorated with comfortable beds and good showers. The breakfast options were good and freshly cooked.
The restaurant was a little bit noisy - the conservatory area is perhaps less cosy than other tables. And on this Sunday evening, some menu options were no longer available and also some drinks - decaf coffee, for instance.

Food was great and the staff were friendly and attentive. The location was good and the surroundings were beautiful! The room was a good size, comfy bed and fluffy towels. Good water pressure in the shower. The amenities of the hotel were great and lots of parking.
Being on a main road the traffic noise was constant. Some ear plugs in the room would’ve helped! Some parts of the room looking a bit tired and some of the furnishings (cushion, curtain and net curtain) could do with replacing.

The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. We've stayed a number of times before, and will be returning. We like that there are a small number of rooms, and that it's not a huge hotel. It's lovely having loose leaf teabags in the room, and that there are opening windows.
Given that there's thought put into the loose leaf tea and coffee machine, it was a shame there were no biscuits in the room. We would love to see clean air monitoring in the restaurant and bar, and use of hepa filters.

The first room i was shown was lovely. It was a super size but over the outdoor seating and next to the night door. Having started to do some work i found both the conversation from the outside area and the door banging too noisy. The manager was very helpful and moved me to an equally lovely room if slightly more compact. The room was very comfortable and ideal for one night night. Dinner was lovely and it is a really nice venue.
As part of the decoration there was a large ornamental clock on the wall that ticks. I cannot and have never been able to sleep with a ticking clock. I had to pop the battery out to stop it, which was quite annoying

Second time of visiting… love the atmosphere of the bar and restaurant area. The was bedroom decorated beautifully - I felt very cosy!
The windows are only single glazed so lots of condensation and with it being so cold outside I didn’t want to leave the window open. I was woken at 5.15 by the massive food wagon delivery (was unloading for approx 20 mins) and then again at about 7 by voices … it felt like thru were in the room due to no noise proofing. I suspect that’s why the radio was on when I arrived to deflect outside noises

I needed a late check in and then I had issues with traffic which meant I was really late (just before 11pm), luckily they were able to accommodate me. All of the staff were super friendly from checking in through to breakfast through to checking out. The room was huge and big enough for me to do my own yoga practice in there. The bed lined was lovely and the bed was comfortable, the bedroom decoration needed touching up with some fresh paint in parts, it looked quite scuffed and tired, although it felt clean. The breakfast choice was awesome and the quality of the food was great.
For some reason it wasn't clear that the rate did not include breakfast so I was surprised at the extra charge for breakfast, £145 for the room + £13 ish for breakfast. And they only do soya milk as a non dairy milk option which personally I find vile, so I was not able to have a morning coffee.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was very good. The location was great - quiet but just outside the City centre
The room was okay but a strange shape which meant the bed area was a little cramped and quite dark. The window only lit up one half of the room - the view across the roof was disappointing and the window frame was definitely in need of some tlc!
