Lovely property in a very quiet location, great for scenic photos and getting the binoculars out, the B&B was very clean, and smelt like clean washing throughout the halls and our room. All bed linen was of good quality and changed on a daily basis along with our towels. Tea, coffee, sugar, water and milk provided each day, great if you arrive late we did. Continental breakfast was ok, however we felt that higher quality produce could have been used, but a good selection nonetheless the less. Hosts John and Fiona very pleasant one a lot more chatty than the other but balanced it out nicely, would we return, yes, would we recommend this b&b for sure.

Mattress a little firm, but that is a personal preference and you can’t please everyone! The room got hot at night even with the radiator off, towel rail off and window on the latch, not much anyone can do about that, I guess the property is just super well insulated to keep everyone warm come snow. There is fan but it’s sadly to noisy to sleep with

Breakfast was very relaxed and had a really good choice as continental breakfasts go. Even homemade muffins which were delicious. The hosts were very friendly, helpful and chatty. It made the experience much more enjoyable and personal. There were brochures in our room highlighting the places of interest to visit. Overall it was a very relaxing enjoyable experience which we would not hesitate to recommend to friends, family and colleagues. Well done for achieving a very homely and welcoming atmosphere which did not encroach on privacy.

There was nothing we could find fault with.

Comfortable bedroom with outstanding views onto the Loch; it was great to be able to open the patio doors and walk down to the shore. Breakfast was excellent, delicious home made granola and hosts went out of their way to provide gluten free and vegan choices. Hosts were very friendly and helpful and provide useful maps of the area (with invaluable advice about where to park!). Icing on the cake for me were the alpacas they keep and the trek by the side of the loch - highly recommended. Also definitely worth a visit are the craft shop in Dores run by Fiona, it is packed full of lovely things; and Dores Inn, which also made a much appreciated effort to provide vegan and gluten free choices for dinner and is a lovely place to eat (as is The Mustard Seed in Inverness).

The hosts were very nice and went the extra mile with a bottle of wine on my wife’s birthday, the bed was made every day and the room cleaned, Scottish wafer bars left everyday with fresh milk and coffee, we also had access to the stoney beach to launch our rib,

No shelves for towels in bathroom and the bath panel had a crack in it, mould by the shower screen where it meets the bath, and you could hear guests talking in the breakfast room below, but that’s me being really fussy! It was a great place to stay with magnificent views from the balcony of the loch.

I think that it was the best place of all when I was in Scotland they were kind, generous, and even did a load of wash for me. They were such a blessing, and the kindness will not be forgotten. I want to come back and just have them take care of me all the time.

Everything was really nice. They were extra blankets pillows in case I wanted them. I had a wonderful balcony that looked right onto the lake. It was quiet and all of my needs were attended to at all times.

The location is great, perfect! The owners are lovely. The room was great and opened up straight to sit overlooking the Loch. Breakfast was cereals, toast, pastries, fruit etc. All fresh and well presented with a small kitchen to use if needed. We loved it. Many thanks.

Personally I like a cooked breakfast when away but I new that was not available so I cannot complain!

Fiona and John are delightful and accommodating hosts. Our room was large, cheerful, and perfectly appointed. Fiona was very responsive and adapted quickly to our last-minute change of schedule. We enjoyed our stay very much.

There is literally nothing to complain about. If I search hard for something trivial, I would say that the hair dryer cord wasn't quite long enough to get me squarely in front of the mirror.

There are places we grow up dreaming of visiting one day, with the hope that they will be everything we have once imagined. Loch Ness has been one of those places for us. A dream we have shared together; mother and daughter. Your warm, humble place has given us a chance to reconnect, find what we have been seeking and heal from old wounds. You have offered us a chance to experience Scotland and the beauty she has to offer. This place is beyond what we have hoped it would be, it is a place where we leave having become a better version of ourselves. Although Nessie remains in our wildest dreams, Balachladaich will remain the reality of how mesmerising this place has been. We thank you, John and Fiona, for the hospitality you have provided and will cherish the memories we have created in her waves.

I loved the location on Loch Ness with a gorgeous view of the lake! The breakfast was all delicious with good delicious coffee prepared! The owners are also super friendly and informative about the area! I very much enjoyed our morning chats over breakfast!

This wasn’t a problem for me….but the beds are very soft, which was a problem for my friend’s back. Didn’t bother me and I slept like a baby! It was remarkably quiet for having rooms around us and I only wished I could have stayed longer!

The continental breakfast and the delicious coffee was lovely to go downstairs to every morning, our room was clean, quiet and comfortable, and the views are outstanding. Our hosts John and Fiona are always friendly and helpful, and why we choose to stay each time we visit the area.
