We have stayed here twice to date, and there are many things to like. The Family Room was large, comfortable and well-equipped with plenty of storage space, clean towels, hangers/wardrobe space and a TV with YouTube and Netflix connectivity. There is a shared TV lounge with open fire, and large communal kitchen which was convenient for storing milk etc. in the fridge. There is plenty of safe, free street parking. Location is excellent - a short walk to the bus stop with buses taking you into Newcastle in 10mins. Within walking distance are the Dundrum Inn (great traditional pub, large beer garden and great Guinness), the Buck's Inn (superb food and service), and of course the next door Mourne Seafood Bar (excellent food). There are lots of sights and attractions a short drive away (highly recommend the Peace Maze in Castlewellan and Silent Valley). The area is clean, safe and family-friendly with lots of nice walks nearby (the walk up to Dundrum Woods and the castle is lovely, as is the short loop around The Quay). The next door Spar is also very convenient. Communication with the owner was excellent. We had an issue in our room, which happens, but it is the manner in which it is dealt with which is important. Chris was responsive, helpful and attentive. We will return again.

The rooms at the front are noisy with the front door and hall doors banging often, and the road outside is very busy. I therefore recommend the Accessible Family Room, which is located to the rear of the building. We also had a problem with our shower, which wasn't ideal, however it was handled well.

The book in worked very well, it proved to be an excellent location, on the entrance to Dundrum, with lots of excellent facilities, close to hand. Very impressed by the size of the room and the attention to comfort. The accommodation had superb shared facilities, large comfortable TV lounge, kitchen, with facilities, that would allow for a full family meal to be prepared, a great solution for some. Daily we met the cleaner, who was very warm, helpful and well informed about the local area, all in all, this was a perfect stay for us and my wife is a wheelchair user, with real .mobility issues.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like, but we have offered a couple of suggestions, based on our disability experience, which have been well received, no more than I would expect, from the owner, who ensured our booking matched our needs. Really positive.

Property had good value at a low price for a last minute stay. Everything was fine overall, I liked the fact there was a private bathroom, coffee station and a TV in the room (as I know a lot of reviews mentioned a lack of TVS in the rooms)

There was quite a lot of hair in the bathroom and dust, which could’ve done with a thorough clean before guests arrived. The TV had no channels that would load, so had to spend a while setting up my own Netflix account to make use of. One of the bedside lamps didn’t work, but flickered on and off which could be seen as a hazard… and lastly upon messaging the host a couple of questions on the day of arrival, I didn’t, and still have not, got a response. The issue wasn’t large enough to start ringing phone numbers ect, but the query was in regards to the check in process to approve times…

The room we had was huge, loads of space. The beds were really comfortable, the shower was great. Everything was really clean. Really easy to find and check in was super easy as well. Decor of the room was quirky ans lovely. Didn't really use the shared kitchen or lounge but it all seemed handy if we might have needed it.

The only thing missing is parking spaces. Dundrum can be a busy wee village. We just parked on the street up a kerb which was fine. It was right beside it so not to far to carry bags etc but if we'd had to park further away it would have been a pain. Appreciate this cant be helped but just so people know.

Spacious room, good big bed, clean new carpet. Situated in a convenient location.

Towels were too big for me. Toilet door was covering light switch, so it had to be kept closed at all times, so the towels wouldn't get dry quick enough. No elevator in the building, so had to carry luggage up the stairs. Noice cancellation didn't work for when drunk neighbours came back at 3am and were looking for their room keys. We managed to open only 1 window so it was bit stuffy inside.

The location is good, right in the middle of the town, and next to their very good restaurant Mourne Seafood Bar, where we had a great experience at dinner. If there is no free spot left where to park the car next to the hotel, there is a big and free parking spot not far from the place. The room was big enough, the bed was comfortable. We slept well, without hearing too many noises. It's also a good starting place for a walk along the beach or to the castle.

Dundrum is a fabulous village to stay in. Local restaurants are great - Mourne seafood has amazing quality and Dundrum Inn couldn't be more accommodating. Murlough is a beautiful place to visit - a golden beach with the Mournes in the background and the castle is beautiful.

More comfortable/flexible seating would be a bonus for the evenings for those booking out the whole property.

Lovely location. Convenient place to stay for visiting the Mourne and South Down area. Clean and comfortable room. Easy check in/check out - clear instructions. Didn’t need to use kitchen and lounge facilities but it seemed well equipped and practical for preparing breakfast, etc.

I stayed for three nights for a short relaxing break. The accommodation was superb and far exceeded my expectations. The beautiful room I was given was spotlessly clean and well-heated. There were tea and coffee-making facilities in the room and the shower was pristine. It had incredible views of Dundrum Bay and was near all local amenities. The staff were lightning fast to respond to any of my queries. This is a lovely, peaceful place to stay for any nature lover. The local town is very friendly and welcoming. This has honestly been one of the nicest breaks I have had in years. I would thoroughly recommend Rooms@Mourne. Thank you for such a lovely stay! -Roisin

Very central, clean comfortable, good facilities. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Check in a little Chaotic. Booking.com sent the wrong access numbers. Staff in restaurant had to help but obviously they had to sort own work in restaurant first. Maybe if an envelope with keys and instructions were left in restaurant just to be collected maybe a better system
