Wonderful country house and family home run as a bed and breakfast. We were the only guests staying for our 2 nights so very personal service and we were upgraded to a bigger room as travelling with our collie. Fabulous choice of breakfast served to order. Homemade breads, jams, compotes available. Enourmous comfortable room with large bath in the ensuite (Curtis Room) Advertised as electric car charging point which was part of a reason for choosing Ballymote. This was available but you will need an adaptor with a 13 amp connection as plug into outside mains.

The house is beautiful and James was very hospitable and friendly. The room was spectacular and we loved how comfortable everything felt. Breakfast was amazing, every morning there was a line up of fresh breads, jams, cereal and drinks prepared along with a hot breakfast. James offered assistance with recommending restaurants and was always accommodating. Ballymote is a stunning historic home that is perfectly situated near a variety of places we could visit and made the ideal base for our Northern Ireland trip.

The hospitality and welcome were excellent. Our host was gracious and made us feel at home with tea in the drawing room and homemade shortbread and interesting conversation .The breakfast continued this high standard with a perfect breakfast with huge platter of cooked options accompanied by an array of cereals and homemade preserves and compote. We were hugely impressed. The location is also very special within the lovely Co. Down landscape of rolling hills . The exuberant family dogs were a highlight for us!

What a unique property. You are staying in a real family home and you are treated like old friends not guests. Comfortable, well equipped and three gorgeous dogs! What else could you want? Apart from a delicious breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice, homemade bread, museli and jams - we got that too.

Where do I start? From the lovely welcome at the front door, the bed which moulded right into you, with such astounding comfort, the delicious breakfast; astounding surroundings and charming, genuine company. If you get a chance, get down there. It is beyond words!

Very comfortable bed in spacious elegant room. Quiet location. Interesting and friendly hosts with a wealth of knowledge about the area and all manner of things. Exceptional breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice and nectarine compote with creamy yogurt being highlights. Enjoyed the chats we had: motorcycles, the army, local history, politics…could have gone on!

The house and decor was very fitting to the overall experience of staying in a Country House. The three little Terrier Dogs offered great comfort,once they got to know that you will staying as Guests in their House.🙂🙂
