The hotel is situated in a beautiful location. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, was serviced every day. A lift was available to each floor.

Breakfast was served far too quickly, with cereal still in my mouth the cooked food was left down in front of me. It seemed as though the staff were under alot of pressure to get finished!!! A walk in shower would be more appropriate instead of having to step into the bath. I feel this is priced far too expensive

The views of Mourne Mountains were beautiful and staff were very welcoming. Breakfast was delicious.

Few more toiletries in the bathroom would have been useful.

Excellent breakfast and service also had the evening meal which was very good. Nice bar area to have a drink overlooking a lovely garden which great views over the countryside. Lovely walks down to the river good place to relax and take in a bit of nature. Very welcoming staff. Enough hardstanding to accommodate motorcycles.

A good walk to get to other bars and restaurants. The main car park was gravel could be challenging for motorcycles.

The staff were wonderful at all times. I enjoyed the breakfast and the walk on the river trail. The building itself with it's period character, wide staircase and view out the window at breakfast, was very comforting. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom facitilites were adequate. Everything worked well, including the TV, kettle, lights, shower, sink, toilet and windows. There was a lovely view of the mountains and no hustle and bustle unlike Newcastle promenade hotels.

Bedroom furniture is dated looking, though it matches the feel of the old period house. Bathroom facilities are basic and in need of modernisation.

The two staff we dealt with, the Receptionist and the Waiter-plus, were really excellent, both in their job skills and their friendliness. The building is old, but kept as well as possible. Comfortable and well laid out. The views from bar and restaurant were fabulous. Our first overnight for some time, following illness, and it was all great

Beautiful premises with a lovely view onto Mourne Mountains. Had a lovely walk through garden to Shimna river, if you are able bodied as it was quite steep with some steps. Our room was lovely with great shower room and dressing room attached. The staff were friendly and professional. A very well run family business and very peaceful - a touch of old fashioned charm 😀

This is a very traditional hotel, perhaps slightly old fashioned, but none the worse for that. The bar, dining room and residents' lounge all have spectacular views. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were attentive, kind and efficient.

Prices for rooms and meals were towards the higher end of what one might expect for an establishment of this kind.

Lovely hotel. Great food. Amazing meal and breakfast was unbelievable. Very disappointed because when arrived to the room, lot of flies were everywhere on windows and not very clean windows. Flies were flying about on ceiling. Waiter was bit rude over the dining table.

It was so peaceful , like moving back in time with wonderful staff x very attentive to our needs x Classic menu and very well cooked x Clean and ideal for a completely chilled overnight stay x Will certainly be back Thank you to all the staff 😘nothing was too much trouble in making our stay enjoyable x 😊

Nothing springs to mind

It was a charming old world country house with a great room and a fabulous view. My wife saw a red squirrel for the first time in her life. The river walk was fantastic and the breakfast excellent. This is not a modern city hotel it's a quiet peaceful getaway filled with charm.

Stretch that breakfast time to 1030 would be nice but it's not a deal breaker and to be honest for me it was perfect
