Wonderful country house and family home run as a bed and breakfast. We were the only guests staying for our 2 nights so very personal service and we were upgraded to a bigger room as travelling with our collie. Fabulous choice of breakfast served to order. Homemade breads, jams, compotes available. Enourmous comfortable room with large bath in the ensuite (Curtis Room) Advertised as electric car charging point which was part of a reason for choosing Ballymote. This was available but you will need an adaptor with a 13 amp connection as plug into outside mains.

We had such a lovely stay at Ballymote, the house is beautiful and the room was very clean and countable, very large too. Nicola’s family were very welcoming. Breakfast was brilliant! Loved all the different types of bread. And it was a good location near the Mournes, beach and a good base for exploring.

The hospitality and welcome were excellent. Our host was gracious and made us feel at home with tea in the drawing room and homemade shortbread and interesting conversation .The breakfast continued this high standard with a perfect breakfast with huge platter of cooked options accompanied by an array of cereals and homemade preserves and compote. We were hugely impressed. The location is also very special within the lovely Co. Down landscape of rolling hills . The exuberant family dogs were a highlight for us!

The house is beautiful and James was very hospitable and friendly. The room was spectacular and we loved how comfortable everything felt. Breakfast was amazing, every morning there was a line up of fresh breads, jams, cereal and drinks prepared along with a hot breakfast. James offered assistance with recommending restaurants and was always accommodating. Ballymote is a stunning historic home that is perfectly situated near a variety of places we could visit and made the ideal base for our Northern Ireland trip.

What a gem - beautiful house and hosts. A lovely period home made homely by James & Nicola, they really couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. We didn’t know the area - full of advice making it easy. Thank you.

Hosts were faultless Nothing was too much trouble and extremely helpful Breakfast was outstanding using local produce Limitless coffee!

James was a superb host. Ballymote house was beautiful and perfectly located for exploring the mounres. A true highlight was the amazing breakfast. Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

What a unique property. You are staying in a real family home and you are treated like old friends not guests. Comfortable, well equipped and three gorgeous dogs! What else could you want? Apart from a delicious breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice, homemade bread, museli and jams - we got that too.
