From the moment we arrived at Somona B&B, we felt completely at home. Fiona and Sam are the most incredible hosts—so warm, welcoming, and genuinely the loveliest people we’ve ever met. Their kindness and hospitality made our stay truly special, and we can’t thank them enough. The house itself is so cozy and beautifully kept, making it the perfect place to relax. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious—every morning felt like a treat! I also had reflexology with Fiona’s daughter, which was such a deeply relaxing and wonderful experience. This has been one of the best stays we’ve ever had, and we are already looking forward to coming back. Thank you, Fiona and Sam, for making our time here unforgettable!

Lovely house in a beautiful place. Friendly and convivial hosts. Clean, tidy and provided anything we needed on request. Very comfy and large bed. Enormous breakfast. Host very helpful regarding eating out and getting around the area. Unbeatable shower.

We’d have preferred the host asking us what we wanted for breakfast. They were too generous until we asked for half measures. There could have been healthier choices than the FIB. A few Kelloggs servings were on offer and yoghurt. We had to ask for milk in the room and for heating on the first night. They were very happy to oblige however.

Sam and Fiona are lovely people and wonderful hosts. The house is beautiful, and our room was gorgeous, and the bed extremely comfortable. The views of the mountains, the sea and the countryside are spectacular! The breakfast is quite amazing - and totally sets you up for the day. Would recommend without any hesitation, and will certainly visit again!

Beautiful house, very friendly host, stunning scenery, and an amazing breakfast. We really enjoyed the hottub on the terrace, under the stars, with a view of the mountains. Lovely large room, very well decorated, clean, a nice range of complimentary hot drinks, cold water and even some snacks. We absolutely loved our stay here!

Wish we had booked more than one night! Nothing we didn’t like about it :)

Breakfast was excellent. Promptly served. Hot and fulfilling. Kept us going all day. Only needed fruit and water during our day out. We did not use the Hot Tub by our choice. However sitting up there watching the sunset was superb. Sam was very friendly and informative of local attractions.

Perhaps the drive way from the road could be less bumpy. However it did not deter us.

Fabulous location, rural but close to Kilkeel. Breakfast stunning, beautiful views from the breakfast room. Room spacious and very comfortable, good selection of teas and coffee. Huge bed which was lovely. Great bathroom with good toiletries. Lovely comfortable stay, Sam was charming and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, will be staying again! 5**

Breakfast was amazing - this place met my expectations and more. The owners were so friendly and helpful, had lovely chats with them and the views were just beyond anything I could have imagined. The bed was so comfy, it was a well needed break while we attended an evening reception just 10 mins away. Would definitely stay here more than one night next time and make use of the hot tub.

Couldn’t fault it in all honesty. Unbelievable, can’t believe this little hidden gem tucked away in the mountains.

Location was fantastic, close to so many beauty spots and great mountain walks. Scenery at the house is magnificent. They have utilised a balcony to place a hot-tub with panoramic views of the mountains. The beauty of creation is all around the house.

There is a real peaceful presence in the house. The hosts, Sam & Fiona were so welcoming. For us a New Testament & Psalms book in the bedside drawer was very comforting.

Lovely house in a stunning location, our room was spacious, clean and comfortable and we slept so well in this gigantic bed! Lovely hosts, really accommodating and understanding of our dietary needs and lovely chats with them. We loved our short stay there and will definitely return when we decide to go back to the Mournes for a getaway :)
