Mariead made us feel very welcome when we meet her just a short while after we arrived. We found our room upstairs as per the emails before we arrived, so able to get our luggage and supplies into an our room. We had a lovely chat with Mariead who is a wonderful lady and certainly looks after her guests.

Not a thing it was the most pleasant of places to stay with lots of interesting places to visit, Lots recommended by Mariead.

The location was beautiful, especially in the sunshine. The house wasn’t all matchy matchy but full of individual touches. Our bed was huge and the room looked out on to mountainside. There were facilities to make your own food as well as a lovely continental breakfast, hand made by the very friendly and informative hostess. Also breakfast can be anytime you wish should you want to be off climbing early.

This is such an overlooked place. I was met by Mariead, and the second I got there I felt right at home. She took so good care of me, and got me out the door, making sure I wouldn’t miss a thing while I was there. Her stories are incredible as she, herself is an incredible lady. Thank you for everything Mariead, I’ll see you soon again hopefully!

We loved everything. Mairead is amazing in her code of hospitality. She welcomed us to the lodge, could not have been more helpful in her advice - places to eat, to see and a mine of information about everything local. The location is perfect for the mountains of Mourne. The room could not have been more spacious and all needs were covered.

I am not sure anything could have been better as Mairead seems to have thought of almost everything a traveler would need. Possibly another jar of coffee granules? But then there were tea bags, infusions, chocolate, biscuits etc…

Breakfast was cooked and presented in a fashionable manner by the lovely Mairead, location was excellent as we love the open countryside and this area did not disappoint, room was spacious, comfy and relaxing with TV, lovely couple of days away, thank you Mairead.

a bit disappointed the TV didn't have RTE, or at least I could get RTE, was looking forward to the return of the Late Late Show

I loved the quite place and school with kids just beside so lovely everything a small shopping feel steps beside. The hostes lady is so lovely that you wanna bring her home with you. Thank you for all love.

Situated in the beautiful Mourne mountains and close to many local amenities. We felt at home as soon we stepped through the door. Our room was clean, comfortable and came with added extras like a kettle and a TV. The property has a wonderful restaurant and access to a common living area and kitchen - Ideal for a home-cooked meal and putting your feet up by the fire. Our Golden Retriever (Fergie) was welcomed warmly and didn’t want to leave when our stay came to an end. A 10/10 from us and an 11/10 from Fergie, thanks for a pawsome weekend!

It was perfect.

Continental breakfast was adequate for us and we were able to get it quickly and easily and then get on our way. Location was good for us as we were in different areas around the mournes

From the moment we arrived, we were totally amazed how accommodating Maraid really was amazing in ever way her personal touches! and breakfast was so lovely ! I really was pleased to find the most comfortable beds ! I have ever slept in…. Really looking forward to get back to The Mourne Lodge …. A LITTLE BIT OF HEAVEN …. EXCELLENT !!!!!
