From the moment we arrived, the welcome was of the highest standard. Our room was impeccable, spacious, spotlessly clean, and with a very nice view. For dinner, there are two excellent options: a four-course menu in the main restaurant or an à la carte menu on the terrace. My husband and I would especially like to highlight the outstanding service provided by Hamish, incredibly kind, professional, and discreet. As for breakfast, what can we say? Excellent quality, attentive service, and a clear dedication from the manager, Moreen. We will definitely be back. A great stopover for those on a road trip through Cornwall — perfect both as a base for exploring nearby towns and as a relaxing retreat on its own.

I loved the quiet location. I am a single traveller with mobility problems so was unable to access the spa facilities. The hill to the creek is very steep, but the hotel offered a lift by golf buggy,, so it is accessible. The staff were very helpful in bringing food and drinks and carrying my luggage. Thank you for the disabled parking near the door.

All the steps, but the hotel have done what they can to mitigate them. I would also like to see some more choice on the bar menu and preferably an alternative pricing on the dinner menu. It would great to have prices for 2 or 3 courses. I cannot eat 3 courses, so every night I was in the hotel, I ate in the bar.

The hotel was secluded and off the beaten track. The gardens and grounds were well maintained, beautiful in fact. The swimming pool was just lovely. The room was spotlessly clean and modern. All of the staff were friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately we had a rather noisy neighbour, who was clearly having relationship problems. We would like to have eaten more in the restaurant but would never have managed a four course meal. We wondered if two courses could be offered as an alternative option?

Breakfast was lovely, dinner in the dining room was lovely too. The staff were all very attentive and friendly.

We ate in the conservatory the second night, and I think the staff were spread between the main dining room and the conservatory. Service was definitely slower, but the food was amazing, and everyone was still very friendly and lovely. We also went to Trebah Gardens, we walked there thinking we could walk back along the coast path. However it was very difficult to find the path from the beach back to the hotel. Maybe, if possible, a sign from the other direction would be possible?

Room- My room was on the third floor (there is a lift) and overlooked the golf course. It was lovely and quiet and beautifully decorated. There was plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate supplies and the toiletries were lovely. Staff- The staff were great and always helpful. Little things like the newsletter on the breakfast table that listed the days menus and any available spa appointments was lovely to have in the morning. Facilities- The pool was small but always quiet and the outdoor hot tub was fabulous!!!! The spa was lovely and the terrace was a lovely spot to write postcards and read. Food - the breakfast menu was great and the staff were able to be flexible with orders. The kippers and smoked haddock were fabulous.

The corridors- The public areas of the hotel, especially the corridors could do with an upgrade. They look dated and smelt musty. And the carpeted flooring around the pool and out to the hot tub was alway wet. It would be great if they could brighten up the pool area a bit. The showers in the pool area are great but have no privacy and they are not automatic so I had a shower before I swam and walked out of the shower area and the shower kept running. It’s such a waste of water. A notice by the shower telling to that you needed to turn it off would save waste.

Unfortunately we were there for a funeral and didn't have enough time to enjoy the clearly very beautiful location. Wonderfully friendly and efficient check in and out service from Ottilie. Delicious breakfast!

My only small gripe was that I'd requested a twin room for my daughter and I and when we got into the room it was a double and not a twin, but it was a big bed and it was late and we were too tired to really care after about ten hours on the road!

The location, the facilities and excellent service from staff.

The room was very far away from the exit which was tricky when needing to take the dog out. The staff seemed under pressure when the dining area was at capacity for breakfast on check out day and the service and breakfast wasn’t as good as the day prior. My partner had undercooked food and mine was over cooked. A reasonably priced menu choice would be a good option for lunch and dinner. The table service was slow. It had all been excellent on our first day. Better lighting at the entrance would be helpful for those needing to take dogs out at night or arriving late. These issues did not spoil our stay.

The location was spot on. The reception staff were excellent. On arrival we happened to mention that it was our wedding anniversary, we went out for a meal and whilst out someone delivered a card to our room, nice touch. The restaurant staff, again were very good.

Not much! A couple of little points, it's difficult to understand a modern room not having air conditioning in the 21st century. It wasn't a massive issue for us. Also hard floors, in particular, need careful checking for fluff. There were a few "dust bunnies" in the room.

All of the dining experience was of a high standard. Excellent food properly cooked with great service and friendly staff in a nice dining room. Plenty of parking and some electric charging points. We used the pool and sauna which was very pleasant. the hot tub was out of action due to the weather. We know the gardens and golf course from previous visits and can highly recommend the outdoor space. We didn't explore this time due to storm Bert! My wife misplaced her jacket which was located by the hotel and returned very efficiently.

Minor issues. No lift to the ground floor, not an issue for us yet! The lighting in room 36 was quite dim since there were no downlighters in the ceiling. One had to be very careful in the shower to avoid flooding the bathroom, although the bathroom itself was quite nice. Room service food is not 24/7

Upgraded room supplied as a celebration for my Wife's Birthday & retirement, excellent food service, good range of food and the essence of all good hotels were the staff which without exception were all superb in their own way.

really hard to be picky, maybe the TV in the bathroom was not working and my main meal at night in the restaurant I would have liked to be piping hot but that is it. I did not complain as it did not really affect our stay and in the end we had a wonderful time despite the Cornish rain.
