This is our 'regular' stay when we are in the area to visit family. We love the setting - the gardens are fabulous, and they back onto fields, so it's so relaxing to have a nice, quiet wander. You'll have opportunity to see wildlife, or take a long walk in a beautiful place. There are some HUGE trees there, and very old buildings on site, in addition to the hotel, which has so much history itself. The staff are great. Here's a tip - make sure you ask someone to show you to your room. This place is a labyrinth! We've been there several times, and we still get lost in it! But that's part of the fun. If you are a breakfast person, make sure you have one here. They are very good! Unfortunately, we aren't big eaters, especially in the morning, but we still can enjoy anything 'uncooked' like yogurt, cold cereal, etc. There are two separate menus. There is plenty of free parking here - we have never had a problem finding a place. We appreciate that all the rooms are individually decorated, and they all have 'personality'. They are spacious, quiet, and have black-out curtains, with modern facilities in the bathrooms.

Spoiler alert: This IS a very old, very historic building! Therefore, there are some things that aren't 'usual' for more modern builds. One of these things is the plumbing. If you're upstairs, it sometimes takes a while for the hot water to reach you. Have patience. It will, eventually. And occasionally, you may have to flush the toilet more than once. 'Nuff said?

Delightful traditional English country house location, right down to the distants vistas of fields & woods, and the giant chess set on the lawn. They met my request for a room with a shower cubicle, and the room was a courtyard room on the ground level. More modern and perhaps a little less charming than the rooms in the main body of the old house, but still very comfortable, quite spacious ... and easier on my aging knees than using the staircases several times a day. Not a very big hotel so it feels very personal and the staff are always helpfully to hand. Breakfast excellent with a few buffet items such as fruit and cereals, but majoring on individually prepared full English etc with proper pots of tea or coffee. The restaurant was perhaps even better than I recalled from last year. A mix of slightly avant garde choices - the duck spring rolls were a star - and extremely well executed traditional dishes such as my lamb rump with a deeply flavoured sauce. Some fine wines on offer too: expensive, but actually at modest mark-ups by restaurant standards. There are less costly but still very well-chosen options on the list as well. Very attentive service even though they were very busy with a large party.

As with many otherwise fine upmarket hotels, an 11am checkout irritates me a bit; it should be Noon, especially after weekend breakfast running up to a civilized 10:30am finish.

The manor is full of character. It was a peaceful & relaxing stay, exactly what we were hoping for. The location was great with pubs, shops & restaurants within walking distance. The service we received was impeccable from start to finish, we couldn’t have wished for more. The food was delicious. We had breakfast 2 mornings & had dinner in the restaurant, all were faultless.

The facilities were what you would expect from a period property. The shower wasn’t the greatest but was efficient enough. The room was fairly dark, but again is what you would expect from the small windows of a period property.

A return visit, the staff are so lovely, it's a beautiful, relaxing location and atmosphere, breakfast is delicious, bedroom and en suite clean and comfy.

The hotel decor is feeling a little tired, the odd bit of peeling wallpaper, odd cobweb, door fixtures that didn't work properly, but nothing that ruined the visit. The visitors in Bacon room next door nearly did though as the smoke from their room hit us in the hallway and we had to open our bathroom window to get rid of the smell. The member of staff also commented on it so hopefully they were spoken to.

This was not the first time I'd stayed here and hopefully there will be many more as this is a lovely hotel with plenty of charm in an idyllic location. The food was absolutely superb and the care and attention the staff put into making it an enjoyable stay was much appreciated. There was a warm welcome and rooms were clean and comfortable. There was also ample parking space available.

The only thing I found this time was the switch on the shower was a little awkward to turn, but I really should have remembered to report it to reception as I am sure they would have sent maintenance up to take a look, everyone there was so helpful and went out of their way to make sure things were right.

Plenty of choice for a hot breakfast and the fruit salad and pastries on the buffet table were both tasty/fresh. The service was outstanding. We did not get out waitress's name but she was superb both in her service skills and in her lovely personality. She also served us for dinner the evening before and we all agreed she had made our visit more memorable just with her very positive work ethic and her very lovely & friendly personality

The water pressure in the shower could have been higher. We also found that the lighting in our room was almost too dim to allow reading

The breakfast is amazing, that's why when we come back to the south, we like staying here!! Also it is very quiet, which I like as I can't sleep with traffic noise. The grounds around the property are pretty and you can forget you are in a busy town. The staff are really friendly ,polite and helpful and they help to make the stay pleasurable.

I feel the carpets, bathrooms could do with an update. Also the bathroom really needs a deep clean. Apart from that the old building, furniture etc are really charming.

We booked the hotel and restaurant for an 80th surprise birthday party with family. From the time we booked and corresponded with the hotel team, it was absolutely wonderful. They went out of their way to accommodate dietary restrictions. The restaurant and the food is absolutely amazing! The rooms were lovely with an eye for detail. Breakfast was really nice and the grounds are just perfect. We had an amazing stay, above and beyond what we had hoped! A big thank you to everyone, from service staff to reception to Kim, the event manager. The location is really convenient to explore Milton Keynes, Bletchley Hall or Woburn Abbey.

Everything was beyond expectations!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Flitwick Manor. It is such a charming property full of character. It is in a beautiful, peaceful location. It has a fabulous garden to relax in. We had such lovey weather that we sat outside in the evenings watching the rabbits at play. We were given a very warm welcome and our cases were taken up to our room. We were in Dell room. It was large and light with a huge bay window overlooking the gardens and fields beyond. Not a sound could be heard and we slept like logs. Bottles of water were replenished on each day of our stay. The bathroom had large fluffy towels, bathrobes and slippers. We had dinner on the first evening which we thoroughly enjoyed. The food was well presented and tasted delicious. There was a nice relaxed atmosphere in the dining room and the staff were exceptional. Breakfast was plentiful. The hot options were cooked to order and were well presented and tasted delicious. We had a lovely goodbye as we checked out. Everything at Flitwick Manor is about making the guest feel welcomed and special.

Just a minor thing - the blind in the bathroom could do with a wee dust
