Hotel was very rustic. Located in the somewhat ‘kooky’ Old town in Hastings. You felt relaxed as soon as you walked in! We were greeted by Emily, who was very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was exceptional. A lot of variety and all fresh, homemade, organic ingredients. The food in the Old Rectory Cafe was also of very high standard. We realised quickly that this was a ‘foodie’ town - everything fully organic and home made. A huge bonus for us! The treatments at the hotel were exceptional. We’ve never felt so relaxed! Highly recommend the head and foot massages! The garden was beautiful. We had lunch on the patio in the sunshine, surrounded by wild flowers. All in all a very pleasant stay!

The town itself was a bit tired. Couldn’t quite work out what it was. A mix of slightly run-down fairground rides and odd buildings. You get a sense that night time along the promenade might not be a place to wander round! Old Town is definitely better than ‘new town’ - would recommend staying to there. Lots of unusual buildings and quaint areas. Pubs are great! George Street in particular was very nice - very european-looking. Nice mix of kooky shops, vintage shops and cafes/restaurants. Obviously a music scene there, not unlike Brighton. We weren’t staying for the sight-seeing, we came for the hotel and treatments - which were fantastic! Food-wise, there’s lots to choose from that are all very high standard. Local fish restaurants as well!

The hosts were really kind and helpful during our stay. When we arrived we were offered drinks and sat by the fireplace, that definitely win me over. The room was massive, very clean and nice decorated. We had biscuits, tea and coffee in the room. We done a massage in the treatment rooms, must say that was magic, they done a really great job and I want to go back for sure. The breakfast was included and was divine, several options and really good ones. My partner wasn't feeling so well and they offered us an extra night on the house, this was very kind. If you are looking for a nice place to stay with a treatment room, this is the place.

I couldn't fault anything. This have met my expectation's.

A lovely and peaceful place in a perfect location—just a short walk to the Old Town. The garden is beautiful and well-kept, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The staff and other visitors were all friendly, making the stay even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a quiet spot to unwind and forget about everything, this is the place to be!

Honestly, I didn't find anything not to like. Everything met or even exceeded my expectations!

I liked everything about it. A friend recommended the hotel, as her sister had stayed there. The place is a converted old rectory and is full of quirky charm; despite that, it is fully modern. Beautiful place. The room we stayed in was enormous and super comfortable. There was ample space to unpack; and the room was furnished with anything one might want for a long or short stay. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choices. I would happily return.

Breakfast: A very good full English. Comfy bed. Lovely view of the garden. Parking for us didn't matter we parked by the sea front. We had booked a show at the 'Stables Theatre' and the Old Rectory is opposite the venue so splendid in every respect. Also close to the Old Town. We have booked another show, in April, and will stay in 'The Old Rectory'

There was nothing that could have improved the parking, as there wasn't any extra space available to use for parking. There was space at The Old Rectory for about 3 or 4 cars. There are a number of car parks close to the Hotel. It can get extremely busy in Hastings so parking needs to be thought out in high season.

This is our second stay at The Old Rectory and it didn't disappoint. We had a warm welcome from Natalie who even remembered us from our last visit about 18months ago, the owner Lionel carried our bags to our room and was very friendly. We stayed in Croft, a lovely peaceful double with ensuit shower at the back of the building with a beautiful view over the garden and next door church. The bed is super comfy and the furnishings are like a little boutique hotel. The breakfast is absolutely delicious and served till 10am and the honesty bar in the chic lounge area is a really nice touch. It's just a few mins stroll from the Old Town with its quirky buildings, antique/flea shops and excellent pubs. We loved our stay and would definitely return!

Nothing!

Everything about the Old Rectory is fantastic. The property is beautiful as are the gardens. Breakfast was a real highlight. The staff were warm and welcoming. All the little touches are thought through and add that extra luxury feel while also being like a home away from home.

The stay was fantastic and I would return in a heart beat. The only thing that would have made it even better would have been a full length mirror in my room as I was travelling alone. However that is a minor thing and there was a mirror downstairs.

Magnificent garden, and the opportunity to enjoy it, including consuming teas/coffee in the garden. Parking at the property. In the room: large bed, quality bed linen, spaciousness of the room, good shower. Simple but quality well executed breakfast with local produce, tasty bread and jams. Members of staff are very pleasant, attentive and caring.

Use of plastic bags in the bins, sugar cubes all packed in plastic. Breakfast is slightly scarce, for instance no fresh fruits. Lacking some extras for a boutique establishment. The decorating of the room- missing some details, could have been cosier. The bed needs headboard rather than pillows rubbing against the wall.

The room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious. The garden was delightful and parking was relatively straightforward. The staff were very pleasant, courteous and helpful. I was able to extend my stay with the minimum of fuss and I was able to have an early breakfast when required.

Nothing.
