The Kingstown was easy to find, which always helps! The staff welcomed me, and offered help with my two bags along the long corridors to room 21, but I decided to go it alone. 21 is a nice big room, actually a double for my single use, so a huge bed and a proper bathroom with shower and bath. Plenty of shelf space; a big Samsung TV with great picture quality (pity about the programmes, but we cannot blame the hotel!); kettle, cups, tea coffee; tourist information; emergency telephone number. Excellent Full English Breakfast in the Hungry Horse restaurant, where the staff were friendly and helpful, and seemed to be enjoying their work (you can always tell).

Here I have to scrape around for some small negative feature. let me think. Oh yes, the toilet seat was loose in my bathroom. I should have reported this, but didn't, so it cannot have bothered me too much. The big complicated tap over the small washbasin made face-washing and shaving difficult, but such taps are everywhere now. I suppose I could comment about those long corridors with many fire doors, but one-storey buildings have advantages, too. No stairs, no lifts. Safer in a fire. Emergency exits never far away. (Hang on, I'm supposed to be looking for negatives, which are hard to find.) I loved the breakfasts, but did not fancy the evening menu. I have met those long lists of freezer-to-microwave dishes before. A limited choice, but freshly cooked, is always better.

We stayed here for a short term contract at the nearby chemical plant so the location was excellent. It took 5 minutes to get to work from door to door which meant we could have a breakfast and still be on site early. The car park had plenty of space for a large pickup, and was easy to get in and out. Check in was quick and painless and the receptionist gave us all the information we needed about WiFi, breakfast, evening meals etc. The rooms are all on the ground floor and have wide doorways which would be easily accessible for wheelchair users, and the entrance also has ramps. The room that I stayed in was really clean, and the radiator provided more than enough heat to keep the room comfortable despite the freezing cold temperature outside. The bath was absolutely boiling hot and filled in no time. During my stay, the coffee, toilet rolls, milk etc were topped up each day and fresh towels were available. I didn't use the TV so I can't comment on that. The evening meals each night had various offers on, and a varied menu which catered for all tastes. Each one of the staff took the time to ask if anyone in the team had any food allergies when we ordered, and the whole team behind the bar were really friendly. There was next to no wait to be served, with the option of table service. The food was excellent. So was the breakfast. The whole bar atmosphere was family friendly, and there is a children's play area attached to the bar. There is plenty of outside seating too which would be nice in the summer. There is a pool table in the conservatory which has enough space to play shots without knocking someone's beer over. I enjoy running, and the pub is situated not far from a disused railway trail which has some nice views as the sun sets. Headon is only around 10 minutes walk away and looks like a nice little place but I didn't have time to have a proper look around. There is also a Sainsburys across the road.

Everything was fabulous. We arrived really late (we gave notice in advance) and the man who received us in reception was welcoming and kind, smily and very friendly. He helped us promptly to our rooms and handled everything smoothly. The room and bathroom very very spacious, clean and homely! Our sofa bed was also opened and ready with clean sheets. We're very thankful. The experience was just wonderful. Also my husband went to the restaurant and they were so kind to let us eat in room and even brought some plates to us. They really do go the extra mile!

Staff are, without exception, welcoming, friendly and always helpful. They are to be complemented. Breakfasts are very good. General cleanliness is good. The hotel is very quiet, there are no disturbances at night. We've stayed here previously and will return - this speaks for itself. The location is excellent for our purposes.

There are some areas where a little updating and some general maintenance would be useful. The mattress in our room is perhaps nearing replacement time. This was the second room we've had where the bathroom fan wasn't working. Personally, we much prefer a walk-in shower to the shower over bath arrangement.

We booked 3 rooms as a big family, when we arrived staff were very friendly when we got to our rooms one of the beds weren't made up, I informed staff who were there immediately to rectify this and were very helpful bringing us extra tea and coffee, breakfast was lovely and again staff were very helpful

Location was a bit far from where we wanted but still managed to go out in the evening and find somewhere fun for the children within half hour driving distance

Friendly staff. Large car park. Easily accessible. We had 2 family rooms. My Daughter had king sized bed, pull out sofa bed for children and travel cot. Bath which my Granddaughter loved. I had family room with my Son, double bed and pull out sofa bed and shower in room. Rooms have kettle, tea/coffee, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. TV. Hungry Horse attached had good range of food and Wacky Warehouse kept the Grandchildren entertained. The lady in Wacky Warehouse was excellent. We stayed and visited The Deep.

Felt sorry for a family using a toy grab machine and not getting a prize. The prize every time toy grab machine was out of order. Staff haven't access to these.

Food,sevice very good for the meal and bar. Small issue that some of the larger portions of steak not available. Braekfast very good and service and attention by the gentleman excellent.

The communication requirements between the booking.com service and what was required for in-house booking and charges was not good. Opinions varied between staff particulrly when changes had to be made to the original 5 room booking on two seperate occasions particulrly with the breakfast numbers and individual reqirements.

We have stayed several times. Rooms are always clean and comfortable. Breakfasts are very good. The staff are always, without exception, friendly and helpful. Meals in the pub/restaurant are good and sensibly priced.

It would be useful for us if there were walk in showers rather than over bath showers.

Great location, lovely clean room with good facilities. Extra pillow when I asked for it for the roomy big bed. The room was nice and quiet. Terrific staff in every way, with a special mention for the breakfast chef who was superb. The breakfast was excellent

Sadly the bed mattress was saggy and lumpy, making for an uncomfortable nights sleep.

Very clean and well appointed and a good sized room. Tea & Coffee. Decent TV. Comfy bed. Excellent full English breakfast. Overall, just what I wanted for my one night stay. Decent bar area as well.

Hotel corridor floors could have done with a good vacuum & clean. Or new carpet. Looked a bit shabby in the morning, under daylight. But didn't affect my room or a comfortable stay. Bathroom design looking a little dated.
