Our two-night stay here was wonderful. As soon as we arrived after a day’s drive we were made to feel so welcomed. Eilish immediately ushered us in, saw we weren’t enthusiastic about finding a place for dinner so she even offered to make us one! Our room and bathroom were large and extremely comfortable with excellent Wi-Fi. The location was outside of the city’s fray yet easy to get into the city center. Breakfast was amazing with early coffee left outside our door and delicious options catered to our vegetarianism. We felt comfortable making ourselves at home, which you can’t always count on when you’re in someone else’s residence. You’ll be very fortunate if you can land here for a stay!

We were warmly welcomed by our lovely hostess, Ailish, who made us feel like friends. The house is beautifully furnished and very spacious, as was our room. Our bed was very comfortable and the house quiet at night, just right for a great night's sleep. Breakfast was excellent too. Everything was perfect for us and we would definitely stay there again.

It is a car trip back into town to find a restaurant. However, there are plenty of places to choose from once you are there.

This is quite a location. It is in the suburbs of Derry and it is not a house, but a mansion on the (red-gated) hill. As we were the only guests at the time it was a little bit intimidating at first, but Eilish is a very good host and gave us a warm welcome. The breakfast she prepared just for us was delicious! There was a Happy birthday sign in the living room (I suppose for a grandchild that was just welcomed), but as it was also my birthday it was a nice touch :)

You will need a car or a taxi to go to the city.

Amazing location overlooking Derry City. Our host was super pleasant and helpful, even going as far as to drive us into the city on halloween night and then drop us at the train station the following morning. Lovely breakfast in a beautiful living and dining area - the building is gorgeous.

The location is about 1 mile from the city. Not too far to walk by any means but it is very uphill so just be prepared if you're on foot. impossible to feel too inconvenienced by the walk when the cost of staying was such great value even on halloween night.

I don't think I've ever had a warmer welcome than from the lovely Eilish! She is a thoughtful and warm host! Redgate house is stunning! I felt like a princess in a castle but very at home in this lovely place! Comfortable, spotlessly clean, lovely breakfast! Needless to say, I will return, and I highly recommend Redgate House. A real gem 🥰.

Eilish was a wonderful host. Very bubbly and energetic. She gave lots of great recommendations for sights to see and places to eat. All were spot on! The house is brilliantly decorated and breathtaking. The views spectacular. Our breakfast was delish and she even made Brett eggs on top of the fruit, muffins and cereal that was already on the table waiting for us. I even learned how to use a coffee press!! I wish we would have booked more than one night. I would have loved to have spent more time in the area and at her house. Her husband drove us into town and gave us a quick run down if what took place in Derry. He even recommended the museums to help with our understanding. All were very worth the time. Happy travels!

Eilish is simply the most amazing host - she is friendly, warm and welcoming, met us at the front door, made us feel so comfortable and also shared brilliant local recommendations with us. Honestly couldn’t haven’t asked for a better host! And the home itself - wow! Such a beautiful place. It was lovely and clean, fresh and tidy. Breakfast served in the dining room in the morning was such a treat as well. Loved our stay and would highly recommend Redgate House. Thank you Eilish!

Nothing - everything was so good!

Redgate House is a beautiful, large, spacious house, tastefully furnished and decorated in period style, and located high on a hill two kilometres away from the bustle of the old city centre. We enjoyed our most comfortable and spacious bedroom and bathroom. Eilish loves people and loves looking after people and Brian was kind enough to drive us down to the start of the must do city walls guided tour. Eilish prepared a superb breakfast including bacon, egg and sausage for whoever wanted them and made sure everyone had everything they needed. We loved our stay at Redgate House.

We had an amazing stay at Redgate House. The property is stunning. The room was spacious but warm and cosy, big comfortable bed, great en-suite bathroom and shower. The guest lounge with open fire and TV was really lovely. But the best thing was the host. Eilish couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. The breakfast choices were delicious, continental and cooked, and we were well fed. We could have stayed for longer, and hope to go back!

Eilish was an utter delight, she could not have been more hospitable or helpful. The breakfast was outstanding, with a large variety of options, homemade bread every morning, and cooked breakfast if you had room. The house was eccentric, huge and stunning, with a large lounge for guests and a great view over the city. Eilish was full of recommendations for things to do and places to eat in Derry. An altogether great place to stay.

Although it's walking distance from Derry centre (and we walked there every day), it does take a while. Be ready to climb quite a large hill to get back to the house.
