A very warm welcome from the host who took time to explain all the available facilities and provided recommendations for an evening meal. Room was clean with a very comfortable bed. Access to a separate kitchen area was useful. We also had access to an outdoor patio area which was appreciated. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice and cooked to order. Good location for exploring Derry/ Londonderry.

En-suite to our room was a little small but functional and well equipped.

Everything!!! Lovely converted house (I think) that had such a warm homely feel to it. Got a lovely welcome when we arrived, Sally (the host) told us about some nice places to eat nearby. Not to far from Derry centre but we had a car so can’t comment on how to get there with public transport. Our room was small but cosy & did what we needed for the night stay- clean room, bedding, towels & a comfy bed not sure what else you want tbh. Now let’s talk about the breakfast!!!! WOW is the best way to sum it up. I am a fussy eater & normally don’t do breakfast in hotels but it was hard to be fussy with the selection available. Different meats, cheese, fruits, yoghurts to name just a few, then you got offered a cooked breakfast again lots of options available. It was just bang on how we asked for it & was about delicious.

The smallest critique ever & it wasn’t really an issue was the shower in our room wasn’t the most powerful. More than enough for a general shower but my hair is quite thick & would have taken ages to wash. SAYING THAT - there is another bathroom on the landing which I think we may been able to use so I could of tried that but I didn’t need to wash my hair so just had a shower. It was warm enough & powerful enough to shower in.

We were greeted by host Heinz who was friendly and had great knowledge of the local area Beautiful old home with pretty gardens Our room had old-world charm and pleasantly decorated, high ceilings etc. Bathroom a but dated but functional, plenty of hot water for a good shower. Comfy beds Breakfast was really good with hot and cold options, cooked to order by Heinz We took an evening walk along the river to the old church and stone tower - history abounds!

Stairway up to room/ doorways at the top a little tricky to navigate, when hauling a heavy suitcase - take care Dog barking until after midnight (where it was I could not tell) hopefully just a one-off occurrence

What a beautiful place to stay!!! Our stay at Arkle House was delightful from start to finish. Our hosts were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms are spotlessly clean and have everything a traveler could want. The breakfasts were amazing with fresh croissants, pancakes, fruit salad, yoghurt, cereal, etc, etc and then we were served an Irish breakfast as well.

Beautifully decorated with a lot of character

We could not fault our stay at Arkle House. Everybody was so helpful and friendly - even offering a lift into town and organizing a taxi. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything was spotlessly clean and our room was very comfortable and in the evening when it was a little cooler the central heating made it even cosier. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of choices. We were sad we could only stay two nights. I would highly recommend staying at Arkle House when visiting Derry. It is only a short ride via car into the centre.

What a great place to stay. We were warmly welcomed right from the start. The room was big, large window, and a private bathroom. We had access to a small kitchen and of course the breakfast was fantastic! My only regret is we didn’t stay longer. If you going to Derry then Arkle house is your best bet.

The room, the warm and friendly staff, the location and the garden. It was close to town but the garden and grounds made you feel as if you were out in the countryside. Very tranquil and beautiful

The house itself is beautiful with lovely furnishing. It also has a very nice garden. The host/manager was delightful.

The only complaint i have is the shower in our room was about the size of a vertical coffin. It didn't even have room for our shampoo. The wifi was also listed incorrectly in our room. My pour wife spent an hour thinking there was something wrong with her phone.

Wonderful meet and greet, lovely ambience, oh so comfortable rooms, very accommodating hosts! Sally and Terry are the best, they went the extra mile in every respect. An exceptional find is Arkle house, in every respect and breakfast boasts a wide range of delicious foods cooked freshly to order, perfect!

absolute Gem, perfectly situated with excellent family room beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean , really quiet and private but still really convenient, such a welcoming house with wonderful hosts, the lady that made our breakfast I think her name is Margaret was lovely, wow scrumptious food with everything you could possibly want, she was so attentive and kind, beautiful patio area with stunning gardens, I’d most definitely recommend Arkle house, and if I were to stay in Derry again I’d definitely try to book here, Ps is there any connection to the famous racehorse ARKLE

absolutely nothing to dislike

A lovely guest house in a pleasant part of Derry- not far from the centre of town. Off road and secluded parking. Room was comfortable and the staff/owner were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Had a nice guest kitchen that was very useful. Would stay here again.

Nothing
