The gym and the pool! both much better than I thought, mainly because there is a proper fitness center which serves the whole village. We enjoyed it, athough we had to pay 5 pounds to use them (even as hotel guests...). Given that 5 pounds was for both of us, it was not too bad. At weekends, the ambiance at the lobby is simply lively. If you want to drive to Leeds Castle to have a visit, it is rather close : only around 6-7 miles away.

The beds and the room are a little bit small for us. Ayyeee... I guess we can use Asia's modern, advanced standards today to judge Europe's rather old, out-of-fashioned, limited facilities and service haha ;))) fair enough. Food at Grill is... ehhhh...Oh yes, we are in England ;)))

Village Hotel Maidstone really impressed me. From the moment I walked in, it felt like they had everything running smoothly. No hassle, no fuss. Just efficient and friendly. Check-in was quick, the team at reception were welcoming without being over the top, and I was in my room within minutes. The room itself was clean, modern, and had everything I needed. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, firm enough to support you but still soft enough to relax into. I actually got a great night’s sleep, which doesn’t happen often when I’m away. Really liked the little details too. Big TV and proper lighting. The rainfall shower was a nice touch. Strong water pressure and plenty of hot water. Now, the gym and pool? That was the standout for me. This isn’t your typical hotel gym tucked away in a corner. It’s a full-scale health club with proper kit and a clean, decent-sized pool.

Bedroom really did smell of cigarette smoke on entering. We did complain this next morning and they asked if we would like to move . But we didn’t want the upheaval as we had plans and just didn’t have the time . They said they would inform housekeeping to spray the room and give it a good clean . Unfortunately it made no difference whatsoever it still smelt of smoke when we got back in the evening.

Nice rooms.and facilities

Shame they have got rid of the nice restaurant and replaced it with a sports bar but it was okay. Staff didn't seem to have much of an idea about the booking in system or what I had paid for. Bit of a cheek having to pay extra for parking, it's not near town, so there's no real reason for charging extra for hotel guests to park. 4 hours free to use the gym / bar but punished for staying yhe night! Also you have to pay extra to use the gym and pool which is again a bit of a scam as most hotels that isn't the case.

The overall facilities at the hotel were of a very high standard. Room design with regards to lighting were lacking but I guess this is standard with all their rooms

Unfortunately other guests weren't quite as nice as most. There were a lot of very loud guests into there early hours that were returning to there rooms to exercise the vocal cords and let everyone else know there presence. And it was obvious that a number of guests were using a certain type of narcotic during their stay. The corridor on the 1st floor we staying had a verdict strong odour of weed

It was really functional for a family, room was clean and we liked the quirky song title references on the bathroom products, and around the hotel.

In hindsight we should have looked closer at things like breakfast times, we were using it following a wedding on a Sunday, but breakfast times were perhaps more aligned with conference schedules or work times, so some of the young children in our extended party missed breakfast as after a late night, sleep longer than normal!!

The location is perfect for an overnight stop to break a journey, just off the motorway but not particularly noisy. The reception staff helped us to check in on the computers and to add on extras such as parking and use of the fitness centre. The room was absolutely fine, but the best thing about this hotel is the fitness centre - we loved the 25 metre pool, jacuzzi etc, and the gym looked really good though we didn't have time to use it. An extra fiver per room to use these facilities seems really good value. The buffet breakfast had plenty of choice and availability. It's only a 10 minute walk beyond the hotel to a pleasant section of the River Medway, which was nice. We'll stay here again.

My chicken katsu curry in the bar wasn't that great.

Amazing staff there supportive came there early hours of morning as fled domestic violence and staff was very helpful and reassuring especially to my scared 8 year old little boy. Exceptionally and amazing attitude of the staff and very friendly. Just want to say a massive thank you to the man who worked nights on desk that made me and my son very secure and feel safe especially as my son has adhd he was amazing thank you so much

Nothing everything was amazing

Just about everything. We were passing through on Friday night, and the Euro 24s were on. So a very lively, nice stay overall. The hotel is self contained with bar, restaurant, Starbucks, gym, pool, etc. There’s an intentional semi-Industrial /Retro feel to the place. Small theatre area in the bar/ restaurant. All staff are super courteous and helpful. Tower fans were in the rooms to keep things cool. The shower in the room is modern and convenient- no bothersome taps just push the button. ;) All coffee and tea services are found in the room. The flyer in the room was clever marketing indeed. (Pictured) Didn’t do the breakfast or the pool, but we’ll make it a point to visit again and stay a few days longer.

Huge modern hotel, room was large with everything you would need, good WiFi for once, powerful and hot shower, had gym and pool. Also has pub type restaurant and Starbucks inside so very good prices.

Only negative is you have to pay to use the spa gym facilities but it’s just £5 and regarding parking it’s free for the 1st 4 hours then £5 per day, but @ weekends it’s free parking from 5pm Friday to 3pm on Sundays
