Easy to find and good to have car parking on site. Spacious bedrooms rooms, very comfortable bed, good bed linen and shower, comfortable restaurant with very good food, good outdoor terrace. All staff were first class, can’t praise them highly enough. Linda, the manager, and Maya (behind the bar) were particularly helpful.

Poor ventilation in bedrooms with one inadequate fan. Lighting not great in lobby area of bedroom. Property obviously under renovation/redecoration and stairs/handrail seemed rather dirty. One bedroom (4) had a lot of overhead noise both late evening and early morning - possibly from staff.

We liked the restaurant and the excellent waitresses who contributed to our enjoyment of the evening meal.

We booked a room a couple of weeks before my sister and were given an end of corridor small room with a small bed. My sister's room was so much bigger with a very large bed. She kindly offered to swop with us which was very nice of her. We would have been annoyed if we had been stuck with the small room for the duration of our visit. Allocation of rooms when booking, seems to be a bit of a lottery!

The location was excellent, it was easy to walk into town. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious - no buffet, but you could choose anything on the menu. I prefer baths, but the shower was spacious and there was plenty of hot water.

It was noisy from the very popular steak restaurant downstairs and the busy roads nearby. There was only one chair. There was no razor socket in the bathroom, so impossible to charge an electric toothbrush without an adapter.

Our room no: 5 was lovely - it has an 'anti-room and rail for coats, clothes etc. and then the main bedroom overlooks the 'patio area' at the front and the large roundabout (no noise from traffic). the bed is 'Queen' size - there should be a choice of 'pillow-type' - theirs are 'poly,' not good. The smoke-alarm should be a proper 'smoke-alarm' not a 'movement' alarm. More shelving required in the bathroom. A curtain between anti-room and main room would be good.

See above: re: the room. Breakfast was very good - one choice for traditional English Breakfast and one for a Vegetarian, which I had. It is a 'Steak-House' - our Waitress was very attentive, as it was our 'first-time' in a 'Miller & Carter' restaurant. On Sundays and Thursday they have a 3-course menu for £29.95; otherwise, 'a-la-carte.'

This is a quaint historic hotel artfully fitted with modern amenities. The property is beautifully maintained. The staff are exceptional and their breakfast is more than a typical English one. The restaurant downstairs is a must do.

Breakfast portions - they are too generous. My room did not have a fridge or a microwave. This was a bit of an issue. Although there is ample car parking, it is shared by restaurant patrons and hotel guests and gets full everyday from 5pm onwards. I wish the property would cordon off a space reserved for hotel guests.

Location for the resorts we went down to Kent for...the bonuses where how brilliant the room was...how lovely the food was & how friendly, helpful and a great advert for Miller & Carter and Kent the staff where...from morning to night they where always top notch

great location, really nice large clean room restaurant downstairs is really good and breakfast was cooked freshly and was also really good service was excellent staff all friendly and welcoming

room we had was very light at night curtains did not close properly and there was a smoke alarm in the room that glowed brightly (not sure what you can do about that) The double bed was also just two singles pushed together so there was a big lump in the middle.

ROOMS WERE VERY BIG EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN. AMPLE TOILETRIES AND REFRESHMENTS REFILLED WHEN NEEDED. BEDS COMFORTABLE/ BREAKFAST PERFECT, EITHER A CHOICE OF COOKED FOOD OR CONTINENTAL IF REQUESTED. ALL STAFF WE MET WERE VERY POLITE AND ACCOMMODATING. ANYTHING WE ASKED FOR WAS NO TROUBLE. THE BEER GARDEN IS A REAL GEM FOR THE PROPERTY AND WE ENJOYED UNWINDING IN THE EVENINGS WITH A FEW DRINKS AFTER A BUSY DAY SIGHTSEEING. THE PROPERTY IS LOCATED RIGHT ON THE EDGE OF TOWN/ WALKING DISTANCE 10 MINS. FOOD AT THIS HOTEL IS HIGH QUALITY BEING A STEAKHOUSE, MIGHT NOT SUIT ALL BUDGETS, BUT THERE ARE PLENTY OF CHOICES FOR ALL POCKETS AND TASTES NEARBY IN THE TOWN WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH OUR STAY AND WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND

THE PROPERTY IS BEAUTIFUL AND A LISTED BUILDING NO LIFTS AVAILABLE/ AIR CONDITIONING ONLY ON TOP FLOOR/ FANS ARE PROVIDED IN OTHER ROOMS WE HAD 2 ROOMS NEXT TO EACH OTHER ON THE FIRST FLOOR ANYONE WITH REDUCED MOBILITY WOULD NEED TO CLIMB A FLIGHT OF STAIRS MY MOTHER USES A CANE FOR WALKING BUT MANAGED THE STAIRS WITH CARE/OUR ROOMS WERE THEN THE CLOSEST ONES TO THESE STAIRS TO REDUCE ANY FURTHER WALKING FOR HER. ROOMS 6 , AND 8 ROOM 8 HAS A DOWNSIDE/ A BIG BEAUTIFUL ROOM, BUT UNFORTUNATELY NEXT TO THE LOADING BAY FOR DELIVERIES IN THE MORNINGS. NO MAJOR PROBLEM FOR US AS WE SIMPLY WENT BACK TO SLEEP/ BUT ANY LIGHT SLEEPERS MIGHT NOT BE COMFORTABLE WITH THIS!!

Room does not benefit from air conditioning, however a fan was provided to help with the warm weather. Otherwise a clean, comfortable room with nice bathroom. Location good for touring and easy walking to town centre.

Floor coverings in bars / restaurant and circulation areas obviously have seen heavy traffic and therefore in need of refreshment.

Good location, great room, good wifi, great breakfast, would use it again

Huge hole on the driveway in which had damaged another guests tyre, nowhere to hang about in the restaurant as a hotel guest would in a normal hotel bar, no bottled water in the room bearing in mind there is no air con either, no room service type menu for cheaper smaller eats you can have in your room
