We have spent a wonderful week at this hotel. We were so impressed with the friendly, professional staff who were always so polite and helpful. They were always ready to go the extra mile whatever you asked of them. We have never experienced service as good as this at any hotel in the world. We couldn't have asked for better. The breakfast was excellent and delicious and provided everything we could've wanted. The hotel and room, although dated, was nice, cosy, clean and very comfortable. Good parking was available for free. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely return to this hotel in the future. We would like to commend Alex for his friendliness and helpfulness when he checked us in, as well as throughout our stay; Sahithi for her friendly breakfast service and other help; Manyo for his assistance and helpfulness throughout our stay; and Siva for going the extra mile as he helped us check out.

The carpeting needs to be replaced

The staff were really helpful and friendly. The breakfast was amazing, with plenty of choice. There wasn't a lot of noise from other guests. The weather was very warm and, although there was no air conditioning, the staff had put an oscillating fan in my room - most welcome. There was an ironing board, iron and hairdryer - not used so don't know if they were in working order.

The furniture was very dated and some of it was broken, although still usable (drawer handles missing). The hot tap in the bathroom had to be turned on full, with very little water coming out of it. The shower was good although no bath mat provided despite there being a sign stating it should be used when using the bath/shower.

Lovely welcome with a free cocktail!! Reception is clean and welcoming. Staff are very friendly. Room is basic but clean, comfy bed. Fabulous television! Bathroom basic, but has ample hot water, shower is fine, lovely big towels. Plenty of tea/coffee. Lounge area is nice and cosy, nice decor/ambience. Breakfast AMAZING, good quality produce, plenty of choice. We were facing the road and did not hear anything, great double glazing. Excellent value for money. Dog freindly. Highly recommend this hotel, we would definitely stay here again.

Curtains too thin, let in too much light.

We received a warm welcome and were pleasantly surprised by the size and position of our room. The room smelt and looked clean and the bed was comfortable, bedding was spotless. We slept well on both nights. We had tea and coffee making facilities included. We had the option of a full cooked breakfast on both mornings, eggs cooked to order upon request or there was also small choice of cereals and pastries.

The shower lever was very stiff when turning on and off but fortunately we had a bath and hot water was plentiful, so it wasn’t too much of an issue. We enjoyed a full breakfast on both mornings but the latest sitting was 08:30am would be better if it was extended to 09:00am

I don't think I've ever had a better experience in a hotel. It was my first time in England, and I stayed for six nights with my boyfriend. The price was excellent (coming from America where hotel prices are insane), and had got a daily breakfast buffet for free from a Booking.com offer. The breakfast had a good amount of variety; however, I do wish there were more fruit/healthy options. The room was spacious, and had a front view of the hotel. The parking lot had plenty of spaces and was included in the cost while we stayed. Room and bathroom were clean; however the tub did seem a bit outdated and the grout didn't look very clean. Came with full size shampoo/conditioner bottles which smelled nice. On to the staff, they were so amazing. Always friendly, no matter what time of day/night. There was no mini fridge option for the room, and since I stayed nearly a week, we had to eat out. There's a Tesco Extra about a half hour walk which cuts through a lovely park where we picked up some supplies. The hotel lent us plates and forks on a few occasions for ramen and salads we bought. There's a kettle in the room that we used for ramen. Very accessible is a Tesco Express right next store (2 minute walk) where we picked up salads and sandwiches. We ate dinner one night at the hotel restaurant. The prices were good. You order at the front, and your food will be brought to you in the dining room. It's not really a dining experience, but was fine for us. I'd like to compliment the staff again. Whenever we needed anything such as extra toilet paper, towels, utensils, they were always very happy to help. There's a large seating area with a fireplace that's very cozy. You can order drinks, hang out, read a book, chat, whatever. While we were there, we went to Leed's Castle which was just a short drive away. All in all, amazing price, amazing staff, unique stone front building, and a great breakfast.

Stayed here overnight as part of a spa weekend in Maidstone. The stay was perfect for my needs!! The hospitality and helpfulness of the staff were amazing. Special mention to Shiva, who went over and beyond to ensure I had a comfortable stay. I loved the architecture of large older properties like this one, with its grounds set back from the road, a large car park at the front and rare, and so much greenery at the front and high ceilings in some spaces It was a pleasure to be greeted with a complimentary cocktail at self check-in and a spotless room that was larger than the average hotel. I liked the various communal areas, a quiet one near the steps, and one wirh a a "pub feel" with a TV screen and live fireplace. I particularly loved that I could have my dinner (an absolutely delicious curry) near the fire place, rather than in the dining room. The staff I encountered were all helpful, the bed and room facilities were great and the entire experience excellent value for money!! I would definitely rebook.

In some older properties like these, sound travels, thus, it would be great if guests understood this and used discretion and kept their noise levels to a minimum. I would have personally preferred a bit more ambience when having my meal and a glass of wine near the fireplace! The fact that there were 2 TV screens nearby, one with pop music, and the other with an American news channel on, took away from an otherwise amazing experience. To be fair, that guest area is set up more like a pub than for fine dining, I just couldn't resist the fireplace. Mind you, the dining room was an option. It was extremely spacious. There was radio playing pop music with low volume. I'm just partial to soft restaurant music.

The staff and service were excellent- they went over and above to make us feel welcome and ensure we had everything we needed. Location was perfect for us as we were visiting family who lived nearby. Lounge area downstairs was beautifully renovated and very cosy with the log fire. Complementary buffet breakfast was also very good. Parking on site extremely valuable as parking in the area is limited.

Room could do with a refresh - furniture was a bit dated, and no lock on the bathroom door. Also it got quite hot despite being winter. We were able to open the window to cool the room which helped.

This hotel is fantastic value. The staff are super friendly and attentive and welcoming. The rooms are functional but large, warm, clean and spacious. Everything you need. The breakfast was great too. It's got a bar, free parking and WiFi and is dog friendly .Grass outside for dog walking and we could eat breakfast with our dog in the lovely lounge area by a real fire. The staff really make this place. Such a warm professional welcome.

It's obviously an older hotel done up. That makes for bigger rooms but not as plush fittings. But we prefered that. I'd l have liked USB or at least plug sockets by the bed and actual tea spoons not a stir stick.

The room was very spacious and had all the facilities that were advertised online. The staff were very helpful including helping me set up my PC that I had brought along and trying to help when the wifi was (at first) failing to reach my PC. The staff had a very big mindset on doing whatever they can to maximise your comfort during your stay and made me feel very much at ease during my stay.

The restaurant seemed to have used a microwave lasagne from Morrisons and charged £14. Eating there is not a necessity as there are many places nearby and after using them once for dinner, I didn't again. The breakfast was always freshly cooked there though, I must admit.

Was looking forward to a nice bath but the taps didn't work. Shower was ok but hardly any pressure
