Our host Paula made our stay fabulous, nothing was too much trouble she was welcoming friendly and efficient. The food is beautifully cooked by the chef Lewis, superb cooked breakfast with local produce which makes all the difference when compared with supermarket food , the evening meals were of the same high quality as the breakfast .The Inn is perfectly placed for exploring the Wolds and Yorkshire coast which we did extensively over our stay. Our twin room was a little on the small side but more than adequate for our three nights stay, the room was cleaned to a high standard and equipped with everything you needed.

The location was lovely and perfect place to stay whilst visiting the East Coast. The room was very comfortable and clean with nice bedding, clean bathroom. The host was very welcoming and the breakfast was excellent and really tasty and enjoyable. We thoroughly enjoyed our short break at the Blue Bell. The host was very welcoming and friendly.

Unfortunately due to staffing concerns evening meal could not be provided and the pub was shut. However the host informed me of this the evening before and gave the opportunity of changing dates, but due to pre existing plans this was not possible. He did however suggest an alternative place for evening meal which was excellent so all good, so this did not impact or detract from our enjoyment of our stay.

Affable, sociable hosts who are generous with extra black pudding for breakfast when threatened with poor reviews. Comfortable beds and good food and beer in the cosy welcoming environment of an old country Inn. The location could have been better like maybe York or Scarborough, but unfortunately the event we were attending was just 3 miles up the road so it turned out alright in the end.

Guests who sit writing poor reviews about the breakfast whilst eating breakfast, instead of speaking to the server. Guests who complain about the location... Hey, you chose to stay here!

Very easy check-in process, lady who helped us was very polite and helpful. Lots of parking spaces available. We stayed in the Junior Suite and found the room to be very comfortable, very nice bed with luxury duvet. Room was heated to a nice temperature upon our arrival. Hot tub was ready to use and extremely clean - we had use of bath robes and slippers which was a nice touch. Slept very well, room was quiet with no noise from any neighbours. Breakfast was delicious, good quality ingredients.

We struggled gaining access to the internet for some reason, with the password not being accepted despite multiple attempts - it wasn't a huge issue though and we didn't speak to the staff regarding this as we spent most of our time in the hot tub anyway so it wasn't required. Felt the room could use a mini fridge somewhere to keep drinks cool - would be handy with having the hot tub right outside.

Despite previous comments, all the staff were very friendly & helpful. Lovely quiet location & the food was superb. (Evening meal as well as breakfast).Toiletries & drinks including bottled water provided in the room. We had the much maligned twin room with shower. It is fine & I have been in smaller rooms! Shower excellent. A bit hot at night but at least that meant the weather was nice!!

Nothing to dislike...unless you want more modern surroundings than a traditional good pub.

Lovely oldy worldy pub/hotel set in a quaint Yorkshire village. Staff were extremely helpful and restaurant was lovely. Room was a bit tired and could do with an update but perfectly adequate with tea and coffee and biscuits. Breakfast was excellent and promptly served. Strange bit was that I may have had a visitation from Mary who was a previous owner of the Blue Bell about 2 hundred years ago. I had a distinct feeling of someone brushing their hand over my head after visiting the loo in the middle of the night. 😱😱

Breakfast nice however we do prefer to have toast when we have our main breakfast. I believe English Breakfast should have come with beans.

The sauce with the duck main was exceptionally sweet. It had to be laced with salt to eat it which spoiled the meal. The other Main was the Baked Cod. It should have come with a creamy spinach and chorizo sauce. It came with a tomato sauce. Sue loved it the last time we visited which was why she ordered it this time.

Well for me it was firstly the parking was great for my trailer .Great cozy room with everything I needed .Great price .Fab breakfast .But most of all the host I arrived late nothing new for me lol .was 11pm when I arrived he saw me on the CCTV and came out to greet me and tell me my room number ect Asked me if I needed any thing .He went above and beyond to help me .And even found time have chat over breakfast .Top fella .Great stop over 5 stars from me .Definitely stay again for sure .👍
