We stayed in the chalet in the garden and were a little unsure what it would be like, it was very clean and comfortably furnished with a large bathroom, also access to a veranda and a very large garden. It exceeded our expectations and was very good value for money. The location was great for our requirements. We took our own food but Sandra had provided enough provisions for a continental breakfast.

There was nothing we didn't like. The cooking facilities were limited but perfectly suited for breakfast and a simple hot meal. No wardrobe but there were coat hangers and hooks.

We stayed in the Wood Cottage chalet for 2 nights. Everything was perfect for our stay wish we could of stayed longer. Easy to find and excellent instructions provided by the owners on how to access the property. Good base for sightseeing. Sandra and David very welcoming. The welcome pack on arrival was lovely as was the offer of continental breakfast in the house or to be brought to the chalet, lovely choice of items and as we had booked the chalet which had a kitchen we didn't get to sample as we had come prepared. We loved watching the hens and the Indian runner ducks running around the garden. We definitely will book again and already thinking of our next trip.

Nothing to not like

The chalet has been very well repurposed with all mod cons, with a lovely view out onto the lawns and the entertaining hens and ducks. Very relaxing. Set within a gated garden with ample parking, it is easy to load/ unload the car. Sandra has put much thought into the equipping and decorating the place so it is very homely, we had milk, bread, or, jams etc provided.

Unfortunately, due to location the free wifi was variable, and dropped out often. Not within the hosts control to improve.

we were made to feel so welcome by Sandra and Dave(Mr Punch and Judy man), facilities above what we had expected, and the views so outstanding, breakfast spot on with homemade yoghurt and fresh croissants etc, the added touch of Dave and his magic trick on first morning at breakfast a bonus and got the day off to great start.

Have been trying hard to give a fair review and find something to fault, however can honestly say there was nothing we did no like

The continental breakfast was lovely we enjoyed what we had so much we had it all 3 days. The property is in a lovely location with stunning views. We were made to feel very welcome and Sandra and David were always available without being intrusive. It was less than a 15 minute drive into Scarborough and Whitby is only an hour away. I would whole heartedly recommend a stay here is you want to be near to town but have the tranquility of the country side.

Honestly we had nothing to fault there was nothing we needed that we didn't have access to.

The stay was a real home from home, excellent hosts, the breakst was a continental and consisted of homemade yoghurt/overnight oats and toast (our choice) and jam all washed down with cafetiere of fresh coffee. The addition of the balcony seating was lovely as our stay was in the warm weather

If I had to say anything it was our coffee tray and water was not refilled for our second nights stay

Great hosts, could not do enough to ensure our stay was a good one. Breakfast with homemade yogurt was lovely. Could help ourselves to coffee, tea etc. Felt like staying with good friends. Bonus was running ducks and chickens. Lots of good places to eat and to visit. If going don't miss Eden Camp.

Fantastic view from bedroom and comfortable chairs on balcony from which to appreciate the view. Fridge is provided in room which is really useful and other nice touches such as milk and water in fridge and brownies add to the welcoming feel. Bed comfortable, room nicely furnished, plenty of storage space if needed. Thanks for a lovely stay!

The wood cottage was excellent and exceeded our expectations, bed was so comfy, welcome box was sufficient for our breakfasts and more, garden view was very nice and entertaining, easy drive into Scarborough, very good value and nice hosts, would book again

It was clean, and far exceeded our expectations. David and Sandra are brilliant hosts and the views from the room are exceptional. They only offer a continental breakfast, but it is a very high quality and all hand made. There was more than plenty to set anyone up for the day.
