The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable and spacious. It was a very good price too. Also being able to park and the use of the balcony was an added bonus. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I even received a phone call in the evening to make sure we booked in fine and if everything was ok. Overall we had a pleasant stay.

Sadly the place is rather run down and could do with some modernisation (though you can see some effort has been put in the brighten the place up a bit is certain areas) and a few minor repairs could do with being addressed like dripping taps and leaking radiators. Maybe look to reopen some of the previous facilities the hotel had in the past or even make use of some of the unused public spaces in some way

Peace and quiet, felt safe, very clean, not overrun with seagulls like other places but it does have doves and squirrels. Also free parking which is so rare in Scarborough. You could park here and walk anywhere you can get Coastliner at end of street to Leeds via York but rail station is easily walkable, and other buses to Whitby and Bridlington can be caught at the station. It is walkable into town and the beach from here but there are also buses if you cannot walk that far.

This hotel was dated in need of a paint and polish. There was no iron and ironing board or towels in the room and had to ask for them. We must say it was very private didn't get bothered by any one. The green gables is a magnificent building. I thought it was a bit expensive for what we got at £101 per night for 3 nights. But apart from this we had a pleasant stay in Scarborough and certainly would stay here again if the price was a bit lower for what you get .

Dated decor no towels and ironing board. Price

The room was clean, recently renovated and pleasantly warm all night. The bathroom was clean and newly installed. Good shower. There were new towels, toiletries, and plenty of tea, coffee and milk supplies

Twin room and one bed was older, creaky. Shower door would benefit from a wider rubber strip at the base to keep water in. But was fine to use.

Loved the family room so me and my 3 friends were all able to stay together and the hotel was very accommodating with. They also rang before to confirm our booking which allowed the opportunity for any questions to be asked.

It was quite a distance from the event we went to at Scarborough open air theatre but this is my fault for not checking before hand

Stayed here a few times for the 4 of us 50 so taking that into account the room.was a good size beds where clean hotel was warm. If your after a 5 star hotel this is not for you.

Shame the pool not open If your staying for a couple of days I'd say your fine but you need to go out for food.

Absolutely great place to stay. I would recommend it. Staff are amazing and super helpful.

Clean and tidy, I have stayed with many hotels in Scarborough, but none like this one. it's great value for money, and I believe the rooms should be priced at a higher rate.

I really liked the fact it had all the same decorations from the 90s, ie carpets, mint green wood chip wall paper, the beige bath. made it feel nostalgic.

We couldn't get the mixer tap in the bathroom to a good temperature, either too cold or too hot so we just waiting quite a while for a bath as the water flow is quite slow

Honestly can’t knock this place for the price!! I wasn’t expecting much but I was so pleasantly surprised!! I booked without reading the reviews and I’m glad I did. The beds were comfy, plenty big enough. And staff were lovely

Slightly out of the way if you’re not driving.

The room was a good size for the money, clean and had an ensuite which was clean with little toiletries. There was a flat screen and kettle with tea coffee sugar and milks ,I will be back to stay again

Could of done with a small fridge in the room as it was 25 degrees outside and would of been nice to keep some drinks and milk cold
