We came for a wedding reception and didn't have high expectations for the room based on a previous hotel stay in London (We came from London after being at Disneyland), so when we walked in and actually saw the room we were beyond impressed. The size is quite decent, a fridge, a lovely bathroom with a nice shower and not to mention a large comfortable bed with WARM sheets. I would recommend staying here. The food was incredible as well. A lovely little place

Music was a bit loud in the room from downstairs (understandable though! So not a complaint), view from the window wasn't impressive either. That's it though really, I don't have anything negative to say

The room was decorated very nice. Modern and clean. Nice sized shower room and complimentary toiletries. Dyson Fan in the room was useful as there is no air conditioning. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

The shower could’ve been better - when it was hot, it was REALLY hot, and when the temperature was turned down, it was FREEZING! Not very powerful either. The property is a pub/restaurant with rooms above. There was a strong food smell when entering the ‘hotel bit’ of the property, and we could also smell it in the room we were in. It’s not a bad smell, and it didn’t really affect our stay, but some people could object.

The room was lovely. Very well decorated and modern with a large bathroom and a great shower.The weather was warm and our room was a bit hot,but there was a very effective fan already in the room,so that was a bonus. Spotlessly clean and a very comfortable bed. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. The pub served good beer,though we didn’t have food in the restaurant. Breakfast was available for a fee. The location was great for us as we wanted to visit both Filey and Scarborough.

The lady on reception when we arrived wasn’t particularly friendly or welcoming - maybe she had had a bad day,but the people on morning duty made up for her.

The room was lovely, very modern and clean. Bed was comfy. Room service was not brilliant as we were there 4 nights and they never cleaned the room or changed towels. We had to ask for clean towels and toilet paper. Apart from that it was excellent. Bus service very poor, just 1 bus an hour then they are either full or not turn up. £3 per person each way to Scarborough! Cheaper to use your car. Food in restaurant not a great choice but reasonable.

Lovely place to stay in a beautiful little village . Rooms really modern. Bar had an outside seating area, always great when the sun shows its face ! Breakfast was basic but satisfying. All hot breakfast cooked fresh & most importantly a GF options. On main bus routes to York , Scarborough etc . Taxi service quike & reliable . £14 into the city centre.

Only a couple of things that could di with looking at . The hotel rooms are VERY warm . Even though there was a good fan in the room it just wasn't enough. Skept on top of the bed with the fan on all night but still woke sfew times due to the heat . Also got back to the hotel at 2245hrs & the bar had already cashed up & no option to add it on to our room, never known that as a resident in a hotel before .

Hotel & venue excellent very clean, very reasonable, food was delicious and loved the entertainment 👍

Room 5, had an overhanging wooden edge to the clothes rail, it had a safety message stating mind your head bit a softer covering would be better, after entering the drawers below it, i stood up momentarily forgetting about the sign and banged the top of my head leaving a huge gash and bled for quite some time. I didn't let it ruin our stay it was amazing

Nice quiet location with excellent play park opposite ideal for little one. Our suite was perfect with plenty space. Could get to Scarborough sea front in taxi for £12.50 which was ideal for us.

Cleaning staff should lock room door once done. We did come back from a day out and room was unlocked. Don’t expect any issues with anyone within the building but would rather not take the risk and have it locked while unattended. Other than that, perfect stay. Will be returning.

Lovely clean room..really nice warm bathroom ..bedroom radiator was nice and hot ..plus extra heater if u wanted plus cool fan…. Good size bathroom..we asked for 2 single beds and they accommodated us by splitting a very large bed in to two singles.. We had an evening meal which was nice and priced well..

Couldn’t fault it Staff were accommodating, helpful and curious to my elderly mother…we had a bedroom overlooking the road but didn’t hear a thing from small amount of traffic.. Ample parking safe well light behind the pub..

Our room number 4 had aircon unit outside bedroom window and because I'm noise sensitive didn't sleep well for the 2 nights we stayed Floor boards creaked badly in our room

Location, good for travelling around North Yorkshire. Room was clean and comfortable but rather hot, a portable fan was supplied.

On the two occasions I paid for evening meal by card (instead of cash) I greatly despised the necessity to choose whether to pre-pay a tip, what percentage to pay or whether to not pay a tip, who on earth pays a tip before they receive the meal or service? having selected no on both occasions I had problems with my meal which had to be returned to be remedied. The waiting staff were fantastic, very apologetic and determined that I should be satisfied. My feeling was that it was selecting no to the pre-paid tip option that caused the problem. Some might say "just coincidence!". Everything else outside of these two incidents was completely satisfactory and I would not hesitate to recommend the Mayfield at Seamer to anyone.
