Quirky, cosy bar area. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Great GF options. Food was delicious and would come back just for this. Plenty of roadside parking.

The room was very small, bed pushed up to the wall so only one side to get out. No where to put anything like a chair or table so cases and all clothes on the floor. There were hooks and a small wardrobe only suitable for shirts. Hotel seemed very quiet so would have made the stay so much better if we were given or offered an upgrade. Bathroom also very small - Toilet didn’t flush well so used the hotel toilet most of the time. Room

We were particularly impressed with the welcome, attitude and service from the young group of staff. It seems to be quite a feature of this property and they all work hard to maintain the standard. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening and the quality of the food was high. The breakfast was excellent too. Bramley toiletries in the room were a nice luxury. The property is nicely situated in Melbourne (although the road was quite busy) opposite Melbourne Hall and lake which is nice to walk around.

A word of warning to anyone of any height to avoid the top floor rooms due to the low height of the doorways!!

Ideal location with on street parking. Room was ample in size, with enough storage and well furnished. Food was excellent both for dinner and breakfast (one of the best cooked breakfasts I’ve had in a while). Food cooked to order so a little wait, but worth it. The array of beers produced by the on site micro brewery was impressive and the four we tried between us were all excellent. The dark went particularly well with the excellent beef and Stilton pie.

If you have somewhere to be breakfast start at 8:30 is a little late (although ideal for holidays) but they do offer alternative boxed breakfast. We did ask on our second day and were kindly allowed to get in at 8:15 which got us to our nearby woodworking course in time.

Great location in the beautiful village of Melbourne. The pub brews its own lager and beer which are exceptional. By far the best beer in the village especially the Dark Vaults Ale. Beautifully decorated room and bathroom. Nice and quiet as room is at the top of the building.

The room has a double bed, but it is in the eaves of the building, with a sloping roof over one side of the bed and not much space on the other side. It is really a room for a single person, not two tall adults. The room is accessed via a tight spiral staircase which would be very unsuitable for some people with limited mobility.

Stayed at the Spirit Vaults after arriving at EMA. On street parking which wasn’t a problem, managed to park outside the hotel. Opted to eat at the hotel, and went for the steak pie which was delicious. 5 stars for the beers, as you would expect it being a micro brewery. Room was quite small (cosy), but comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful with good local produce.

We were ok, but could see the on street parking being a problem at busy times being opposite Melbourne Hall. Our room, although very comfortable, was on the small size. Would describe it as cosy.

This place is outstanding. Even a sticker on the toilet paper and bamboo toothbrush and a mini Colgate. The room was immaculate and no expense spared on bedding, luxury items. We will return. Oh and the vegan breakfast was the best I’ve ever tasted. My daughter had a lecture, so they prepared a breakfast bag and left it on our room as promised. It was a very generous and top quality breakfast. Thank you so much. Location is perfect for us. We are going to book again for next months visit xx

Everything was perfect

Attending a concert in the village so great location for our purposes. Modern well appointed room with comfortable bed nice en-suite bathroom with a good shower over the bath and all spotlessly clean. A variety of cooked options were available at breakfast ( no cereals or fruit) we opted for the full English breakfast which was well cooked , tasty, nicely presented and huge. 😋

The room was a little cool on arrival and the heating didn’t kick in until early evening it was also off when we awoke the following morning. Fortunately it was a relatively mild weekend so not a great problem but timings might need adjusting as winter approaches.

Great location and stylish, great food in the evening - really exceeded expectations, great beer (made onsite!) and excellent coffee. Staff were lovely. Breakfast good quality.

Pillows were awful, like bricks! Breakfast took a long time to arrive on Saturday morning (which was fine for us as we weren't in a rush), couple of maintenance issues in the room which were reported. Our room had a small window that overlooked the outside courtyard area, so noisy in good weather.

We loved our overnight stay, the rooms were cosy and luxurious with great decor and luxury toiletries. We chose the Charcuterie board at lunch with garlic Parmesan fries and olives, the best sharing board I’ve ever eaten. The breakfast was generous and cooked to perfection, glorious smashed avocado and chilli and poached eggs, a veggie full English too. We tasted the micro brewery lager brewed on the premises, a fabulous stay! Well done, we couldn’t find one fault. We will be returning soon.

Absolutely nothing.

The room I had was lovely, very nicely done and exceptionally clean. Great location and Melbourne is a lovely place to stay the weekend. Food and drinks here are great, however make sure you book a table as it gets so busy.

The entrance to the rooms isn’t great, carpet was very dirty and didn’t fill you with confidence going to your room. I think this area really needs a make over to be in keeping with the rooms.
