Very cute accommodation. Comfy beds and everything was very clean. There was also a small lounge area and fridge. Everything we needed for a weekend away. Ate at the pub and the food and atmosphere was nice. A couple of vegetarian options. Nice walks nearby.

It was quite cold when we arrived in the evening and took a few hours to warm up. Lounge floor was cold, a rug would have helped. The shower pressure dropped to almost nothing a couple of times but came back after a minute.

Easy check in and parking. Was nice and clean and very cosy and comfortable. The bed was very comfy and even though it's 2 rooms and a toilet/shower, we found it perfect. The surrounding area was beautiful and very quiet. We stayed over during the week so the pub wasn't open, but we still enjoyed our stay. The owners were so accommodating and responded to any requests we had. We will definately stay again in the future.

Accommodation in a great location and with a lot of character. The owners/managers and staff at The Crown were very friendly and positive. I experienced autumn temperatures at night, but was warm and comfortable.

The sitting room furniture was perhaps a bit dated and perhaps the sofa would be better as a corner unit to better utilise the small space. Self-catering was very limited without a sink, but I expected that.

The barn was cosy, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The food in the pub was amazing! The staff were really friendly and helpful. The location was great for walks and a visit to Grassholme Observatory. The tea, coffee, sugar, and milk were very much appreciated after our long drive.

It was a bit of a struggle to wash our cups and refill water bottles in the bathroom sink but we asked for a bottle of water from the pub to keep in the fridge.

The location was lovely. Very quiet with dark skies. The surrounding area was great to drive through and explore too. The Crown Pub served excellent food at very reasonable prices too.

The barn was, indeed “micro”. Very basic amenities which meant preparing any food was difficult unless microwaveable and cleaning plates etc difficult too.

The micro barn is so beautifully set out and has everything you could need for a lovely warm stay, the shower is excellent and the fresh milk on arrival was a added bonus.

Only thing was there was a private function at the pub and in the evening i could not park outside the barn, but found somewhere along the road.

Perfect little annex for a couple or a single person comfy sofa and double bed nice size shower and toilet area microwave and kettle and fridge for milk lovely beer garden adjacent to the annex food was lovely car parking after hours was good staff were great

Great location. Everything you need for a short stay. Facilities were spotless and leaving milk in the fridge was a most welcome surprise

A bit dark from the car park. Windows hard to open (but not a huge issue as we did manage to get them open in the end). Would have been nice to be able to eat at the crown (but due to staff shortages this wasn’t available)

The Micro Barn is in a lovely village and was an excellent location for exploring Teesdale.

Unfortunately, The Crown was closed during our stay and it was a bit of a challenge to find vegetarian food.

Blinds at windows but let lots of light through. Perhaps blackout blinds for spring/summer mornings
