Room big and bed comfortable. Plenty of hanging and drawer space. Great coffee machine which also can be used for making tea with tea bag provided. Dogs accepted. Breakfast extraordinary with big choice. Ate in the evening too. Excellent food and again good choices. Chef clearly v capable!!! Great location with quick access to footpaths to sea and to other local villages. Owner and all the staff are all very friendly and exceptionally helpful. WE WILL BE BACK

Bathroom was not en-suite. Other residents tended to use the " private bathroom" for our room ( Room 4 ) Beers at the bar are maybe a little limited. Maybe another local brewed pale ale would be good. Hardly a deal breaker. Car park a little small but not really an issue.

My friends and I stayed for the weekend in two rooms. One was a twin, the other a double. Both rooms were clean and comfortable, beds were lovely, and towels and linen were of good quality. The rooms are due to be refurbished this autumn, but we felt that it was still a comfortable stay with character and charm overlooking the Windmill in Cley. The host, Robert, and his staff were friendly and hospitable and couldn't do enough for us. They even served us breakfast earlier than usual to accommodate our plans. The menu is excellent and also recommend visiting their sister pub in the village (The George) for a wonderful meal in their beer garden . We all very much hope to return !

The location and staff excellent. Good menu choices. Food delicious.

Breakfast serving could improve - tablemats? Side Plates? Prefer Coffee served in plungers rather than in cups and then no top ups offered. Lack of condiments as in butter marmalade etc on the tables. Toast served thick - or give guests the option of self serve for these. The weather was exceedingly warm during our stay and unfortunately the dining areas became very warm - detracted from the enjoyment of dining. Our room was tired. However I understand the property is to undergo a refurb.

I had a wonderful stay! I was here for the birds at NWT Cley and it was 10-15 mins walk away (pro top there's a safe footpath the whole way you don't need to walk on the road!). I didn't drive but there was also a car park for patrons. My room itself was large, comfortable, quiet and clean. Crucially for me as an amateur photographer the wifi was excellent so I could edit and publish photos in the evening no problem. The food and drink was great but the friendliness of the staff was what made it - I was a solo traveller but I still felt so at home. Further bonus point for me that it is named after the Norfolk word for the Grey Heron.

Breakfast was excellent ;well cooked and quickly served. After the first evening when we discovered the evening meal was not available on a Tuesday, we ate our evening meal at the Harnser ever evening and the food was plentiful, excellent and very good value for money.(In all fairness, we were rung before we left home to warn us that the bar would be closed on the day we arrived, after 4.00pm.) The owner was very helpful with answers to our questions, eg times of coastal hopper buses. We enjoyed our walks along the North Norfolk coastal footpath and the fantastic views.Out boat trip out to see the seals on Blakeney Point was unforgettable. So quiet; we slept well.

The ONLY thing we didn't like was the entrance to our room up the staircase and the room itself. all in need of a bit of redecorating. But the room was warm, comfortable and clean. Also, it might be better if there was something on the booking form to warn people about the position regarding food on Tuesdays

The staff and owners were lovely, very friendly, and very helpful. The slightly lower than 10 marks are because, as comfortable as they are, the owners admit that the rooms do need a refurb. The shower was strong, planty of hot water, the rooms themselves warm and the bed comfortable. The ameties were fine, we would stay again. The food was amazing, beautifully cooked, great ingredients and a nice change from pub food. We were gutted that they were closed Tuesday evening and we couldn't eat again. The wine list is small but excellent with one of the owners very knowledgeable. He is a master of wine, the highest accolade. The wine was also reasonably priced. Such a refreshing change. Highly

Breakfast was brilliant, generous servings and all our particular requests were met. The staff were amazing, particularly Justin and the chefs were so helpful and friendly, making us dinner even when they had cleared up the kitchen late in the evening. They really looked after us. Location amazing, great food, friendly staff, relaxed and fun vibe, car parking. We will be back!

The floorboards and bathroom door were very creaky so that we were waking each other up in the night when we went to the bathroom.

Breakfasts were excellent, lovely friendly helpful staff. We had a beautiful meal, whitebait to start and super steak the first evening there. Book a table beforehand as the restaurant is popular. Lovely village and great location.

We were not prepared for the tiny shower in a separate room passing another guest room. Especially as we hadn't brought dressing gowns !! But....... the Harnser has just been taken over by new owners and they are going to refurbish the accommodation which definitely will improve things.

We first stayed here in December 2022 and loved it so much, we chose to come back to the Harnser for our honeymoon in October 2024. This is honestly such a special place, the hosts - Ronan and Alan (and the dogs!) and the staff, are all fantastic and I want to thank them all for helping to make our honeymoon so lovely! The location is stunning, with an abundance of lovely walking opportunities, bird and nature watching and pretty close to the beach. We stayed in the same room on both of our stays here and couldn't fault it, it was clean and comfy and cosy and to come back to and warm up after spending long days out walking. The breakfasts and dinners at the Harnser were fantastic, both my husband and myself are vegan and we were very well catered for - the menu included veggie, vegan and plenty of gluten free options. And we really appreciated the chef modifying a dish to 'veganise' it for us for dinner one evening. We will definitely be back to stay here again, in one of our favourite parts of the UK and definitely our favourite hotel by far! Thank you all at the Harnser so much, for making our stay so special and for the bottle of prosecco as a parting gift from the hosts, that was a really lovely touch to end our honeymoon!

Nothing!!!

From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome, Ronan showed us to our room ,explained all the facilities including the heating operation ( it was the middle of January and very cold ) We booked in for an evening meal which was amazing ( Alan you are a truly fantastic cook) , and decided that we would not be going anywhere else for the following night. The staff were brilliant and very friendly and helpful, expect a lot of banter with them all. The place is a hub for the village with the locals coming into for breakfast , lunch and dinner ( Sunday morning there was a table of 7 locals what better recommendation) The village is well worth a wonder around as it was a historical trading port although a quaint back water now, also look around the local grocery shop Picnic Fayre, which produces local made food from the kitchen in the back. All in all cannot recommend the place enough and next time in North Norfolk the only place to stay
