We loved the friendliness of the hotel and the excellent customer service by Dino and his team which made our stay just perfect ! The Communication by them was very good indeed right from the moment i booked , which is always a big plus for me, as it shows an attention to detail and a caring approach. The room we stayed in was light an airy with good double glazing with both side and front aspect opening windows, it was very clean and had everything we needed, we felt it represented exceptional value for money.

I didn’t get to meet the hotel staff so did not comment on that as the bar is completely separate to the hotel, as I was told by the bar staff. However that is no put off my room was spot on and I was very happy. I dealt with the hotel via message and my room was ready when I arrived. The only advice I would give is just to let people know how to get out in the morning, I did work it out but threw me to begin with, but again no put off.

Excellent location for RHDR - our main reason for visiting. Beds made up and towels changed each day. Plenty tea, coffee & milk available + biscuits each day Excellent food in restaurant Free wi-fi - good connection

Room was very basic. Communal stairs needed a good hoover. Dirt noticed on arrival still there 3 days later when we left. Breakfast not available until 9am - we were on our way out for the day by then. Disappointed no reference to Captain Howey - namesake of hotel.

The room and bathroom were very clean and nice and the bed was very comfortable. The room was fairly quiet. We were pleased to have the hospitality tray.

We were disappointed to find out after arrival that we could not order breakfast for the next day. The information on Booking .com and on hotel's own messages indicated that one could.

Close to RHDR and good bus links (until 1800) along the coast. Pleasant lounge for evenings. All the staff I spoke to were pleasant and the room was clean and well serviced. Timings meant I didn’t have their breakfast, which in the past have been well worth taking.

Room 8 has a sloping roof, and sitting down is essential to go to the toilet! An architectural feature of an old hotel!

A good location for visits along the south east coast. It was nice to see the steam engine for the miniature railway having its engines fired up ready to leave in the morning. Food at the restaurant was really good.

Pigeons. But there's not much you can do about them I suppose. Maybe some spikes at gutter level?

Very clean and prepared bedroom. I slept incredibly well, the mattress is super comfortable!

I got a bit lost entering in the middle of a party in the pub, I didn’t know where to go/ask. Maybe some signage or something. However , this is just a comment for improvement nothing else

Excellent location for Romney Hythe and Dymchurch railway excellent staff comfortable bed everything lovely and clean only stayed 2 nights but room was cleaned on our second day clean Towels coffee and milk replenished lovely food in the pub/Restaurant Thank you Dino, Kevin and Bruce and staff for a wonderful stay highly recommended

We were visiting several railways including the RH & DR which was closely located to this property

There was a flickering bulb downstairs & the sofa bed was a little difficult to open out but otherwise it was a great place to be based

Dino just makes it very easy. It's the second time of staying here recently, great food too, and a great atmosphere in the bar, massive thanks to the people you don't see who make the place a success too ( like the cleaners and the kitchen staff)
