We stayed at this hotel last year and in our review we said that it was tired and needed to be updated. Well this has happened and the difference was very noticeable, the exterior was looking more cheery. The interior had been given a complete makeover from reception, bar/restaurant to the bedrooms. A fresh cooked breakfast to your liking is provided every morning and there is an option to have an evening meal, the menu is not extensive, however, what is available is of a very good standard and reasonably priced. All of the staff from check-in/out and during our stay were extremely pleasant and helpful. 15 minute walk into the city centre.

The room was spotlessly clean and tidy. Very impressed with free parking, free WiFi and a fridge in the room. Very well thought out. Very comfortable bed and the shower was very good too. The housekeeper is a credit to the hotel

The bedroom window unfortunately lets alot of noise in when closed and we was woken up at 4.30am with people beneath shouting in the smoking area. The first morning when I walked outside at 7.30am. I was questioned whether I had a room there by the same woman who had checked our party into 2 rooms at 11pm. She was quite rude I felt and it seemed like she was trying to incinuate I had been there overnight "working" as such....

Really warm, friendly and helpful staff. Its clear they really want you to enjoy your stay. I enquired about a later check out, which they were happy (and able) to accommodate. Great location in terms of being close to the town centre and very near to other stores such as morrisons and B&M. My room was lovely and warm, which was great for me. Free parking was also a deciding factor on me booking a room here. I had read some old, past negative reviews, so almost didn't book, so glad I did, and would definitely consider staying there again. Paid a lil extra for the superior room which had a bath, and the inclusion of a fridge was an excellent feature, as I was able to keep drinks cold. Only things to consider is potentially later breakfast times or brunch options. Also, netting for the windows/ or sticking one way window film on the windows, facing the main road. I came to have a short break (R&R), and would recommend this hotel to others.

Your staff were absolutely lovely and the room was exactly what we expected, clean and comfortable. We were given a choice of rooms and although we had read that some of the rooms were noisy, we had no problem with this. The location was great as we arrive late and were able to go to the fabulous Indian restaurant across the road, the receptionist, Anna recommended it. We were given very good service at the bar before dinner and the parking was also well managed by the staff.

The staff members were kind and considerate. I'm disabled and walk with a walking stick. One staff member carried my luggage up to the first floor and another was kind about showing me that my room had a bath and shower and enquired if that was ok for me. I love a bath but do sometimes have problems getting in and out of them.This bathroom and bath were wonderful; large and absolutely spacious enough for easy access. I loved the room and the large bed. This was room 3 which I'll ask for next time I'm here. The breakfast was superb. The little fridge was a nice addition.

There was some traffic noise but I chose the hotel as it was near the railway station for my return journey to London. I didn't mind it really.

The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean with a large comfortable bed. We were given lots of lovely fluffy towels and the shower was great with good water flow and temperature. The breakfast ( full English) was really good and delicious. Generally excellent value for money, particularly as the parking was free.

There is no lift and so there’s quite a lot of stairs if you’re on a higher floor and have a heavy bag it might be a problem, although I’m sure the wonderful staff would help if necessary. The cooked breakfast was really good but could have been slightly smaller. I don’t think two fried eggs each was necessary.

Room was very dated and basic. Hotel was very expensive for the 2 nights I stayed there. Road noise, kept me awake. You are right on the corner of very busy roads.

the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel building is beautiful, although could do with some updating. This has the potential to be a stunning hotel, really liked the architecture of the building.

The staff were friendly. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was large with a lovely shower. It was extremely hot but a fan had been put in our room and there was free water in the fridge. The hotel was about a 5 minute walk from the theatre, so very convenient. Breakfast was £10 which was very reasonable, and the cooked breakfast was quite big, so good value for money.

We had to wait a little while for the receptionist to appear at check-in and for breakfast, but that wasn't really a big issue.

When we arrived lady on the desk was very very helpfull and informative room was clean and bed very comfy staff behind the bar were very helpfull and remembered what my order was

You may want to patrol the floors during the evening as there was a distinct smell of weed in the corridoors but didnt venture into our rooms
