We stayed at this hotel last year and in our review we said that it was tired and needed to be updated. Well this has happened and the difference was very noticeable, the exterior was looking more cheery. The interior had been given a complete makeover from reception, bar/restaurant to the bedrooms. A fresh cooked breakfast to your liking is provided every morning and there is an option to have an evening meal, the menu is not extensive, however, what is available is of a very good standard and reasonably priced. All of the staff from check-in/out and during our stay were extremely pleasant and helpful. 15 minute walk into the city centre.

The room was spotlessly clean and tidy. Very impressed with free parking, free WiFi and a fridge in the room. Very well thought out. Very comfortable bed and the shower was very good too. The housekeeper is a credit to the hotel

The bedroom window unfortunately lets alot of noise in when closed and we was woken up at 4.30am with people beneath shouting in the smoking area. The first morning when I walked outside at 7.30am. I was questioned whether I had a room there by the same woman who had checked our party into 2 rooms at 11pm. She was quite rude I felt and it seemed like she was trying to incinuate I had been there overnight "working" as such....

Really warm, friendly and helpful staff. Its clear they really want you to enjoy your stay. I enquired about a later check out, which they were happy (and able) to accommodate. Great location in terms of being close to the town centre and very near to other stores such as morrisons and B&M. My room was lovely and warm, which was great for me. Free parking was also a deciding factor on me booking a room here. I had read some old, past negative reviews, so almost didn't book, so glad I did, and would definitely consider staying there again. Paid a lil extra for the superior room which had a bath, and the inclusion of a fridge was an excellent feature, as I was able to keep drinks cold. Only things to consider is potentially later breakfast times or brunch options. Also, netting for the windows/ or sticking one way window film on the windows, facing the main road. I came to have a short break (R&R), and would recommend this hotel to others.

Your staff were absolutely lovely and the room was exactly what we expected, clean and comfortable. We were given a choice of rooms and although we had read that some of the rooms were noisy, we had no problem with this. The location was great as we arrive late and were able to go to the fabulous Indian restaurant across the road, the receptionist, Anna recommended it. We were given very good service at the bar before dinner and the parking was also well managed by the staff.

Room was very dated and basic. Hotel was very expensive for the 2 nights I stayed there. Road noise, kept me awake. You are right on the corner of very busy roads.

the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel building is beautiful, although could do with some updating. This has the potential to be a stunning hotel, really liked the architecture of the building.

When we arrived lady on the desk was very very helpfull and informative room was clean and bed very comfy staff behind the bar were very helpfull and remembered what my order was

You may want to patrol the floors during the evening as there was a distinct smell of weed in the corridoors but didnt venture into our rooms

Spacious is an understatement. The room was far bigger than i expected, there was plenty of space for everything. The bathroom was bigger than most other bedrooms in hotels and the shower was big enough for a party. Everything was very clean. The heating coped well for the size of the rooms, it did better than other rooms ive stayed in that are a quarter of the size. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Free parking right outside the front door. Close enough to town yet just far enough away to be away from the noise. And if walking into town, you have to pass through the nicer end; past the theatre, a lovely tailors, a few nice jewellers, a traditional pub, and an old grocers. If youre hungry and its late, theres an indian restaurant over the road that does good quality food well into the evening.

If i had to find a fault, it would be the busy road outside, which they cant do anything about of course. But its only noticeable through the windows and not too noisy at all. The other issue also concerns the road outside. Finding the hotel and where to park isnt too easy considering the roads are barely navigable, and its easy to miss the hotel, despite being an older building that should stand out.

Really friendly staff very helpful and warm, rooms really clean beds lovely ,did not have any meals at the place but did have a drink at the bar very nice. Location ideal centre of Northampton went their for a graduation and it was ideal and walking distances good for all venues. Car parking excellent as you are logged in for 24 hrs remember to log your registration as the local traffic wardens are a bit keen. Overall 3 star accommodation would stay again

As it is in the centre the traffic can be a bit noisy midweek but the comfortable beds help out
