The staff in this hotel were amazing, really friendly and welcoming. The evening food was amazing, but the continental breakfast choice was not great, especially for kids. Cooked breakfast was good and could have been loads better with hash browns. :)

The room was big and tidy but the bathroom had been neglected. The basin taps still had someone else's tooth paste all over it as did the splashbacks, the toilet roll holder was loose and we had a friendly long legged spider in there too. I do need to add, I did not complain or make a fuss and perhaps I should have but for the sake of my child who was tired, I didn't.

It’s very easy to get the wrong impression of places when you roll up midweek in early December in the dark for an unplanned overnight business stay and I am used to Golf Course style facilities but first impressions were a little bleak. Initially everywhere looks a, not unusual little tired decor wise as many places can in ‘post Covid Britain’ but purely functional for the golfing fraternity. But….and here’s the big but….’what a place!’…from the cheerful lovely lady on reception to the lady who appears to run the restaurant with military precision on her own, every single thing works as it should and is all done very, very well. Reception, restaurant, food, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and changing facilities, all absolutely bang on and with staff whom you feel actually care and are genuinely interested. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again when in the area and hopefully sample the place in daylight!

In the first room I had there was a tiny tv that did not have any signal, when I mentioned it to reception I was moved to another room with a big smart tv with a great signal. Although there was a wedding on you can't hear anything, it's very quiet at night. The bed is a super king size and super comfy, I had a great sleep. Lots of plug sockets and really good lighting, and a fan supplied as no aircon.

My room was at the golf course side so when the golfers arrived at 0630 in the morning, the car doors slamming and general chatting woke me up on both nights I stayed.

The room was spacious, the staff were friendly and amenable. The location was excellent. The cooked breakfast was adequate, although there was a larger option for more money. Some of the sporting guests were a little bumptious and loud, perhaps to be expected at a golf hotel.

The table d'hôte menu was a disappointment. Overall, the food was hit and miss, some very good, some a little overpriced. Portion sizes varied, from undersized to generous. Not very consistent.

My stay at Wensum Valley Hotel in March 2025 was enjoyable—the hotel was clean, set in a lovely countryside location, and the staff were welcoming. The facilities were great, with spacious rooms, a relaxing leisure center with an indoor pool, and excellent golf courses, making for a comfortable and pleasant experience.

The location is out of the way from the hustle and bustle of Norwich and the Cell signal was terrible. This was helped with the Wifi provided

The breakfast was good although serving larger groups might benefit from a help yourself breakfast buffet. The staff during my stay were fantastic. polite, friendly, approachable, professional and any request we made the staff worked hard to make it happen. Honestly, the staff were brilliant. Even the cleaning and gardening staff because the pathways and outside areas including the areas outside the rooms were pristinely presented. I loved the fact that the ground floors had a little area outside where you could smoke and were set up with table, chairs and an ashtray. The food was good, the table set up in the dining area was awesome, the table layout, the cutlery, chairs, glasses - everything were immaculate and to a high standard again I think this was down to the high level of focus from the staff. There was a lady with blond hair in a pony tail on reception when the Lane party booked in (a supervisor maybe) whom had no problem meeting our needs as guests by doing a bed change- thank you. Our rooms were ready early - fantastic, they were clean, comfortable and spacious. The facilities were great. I throughly enjoyed celebrating my 50th birthday here, I would recommend and come back a lot!

The mattress in room 40 was a bit springy and the breakfast for such a large amount of people would benefit to be a self service breakfast buffet.

Food was good. Use of the pool facilities was very good. Comfortable bar and restaurant area - room was basic but ok.

Unfortunately I had requested a room with a nice view as it was a celebratory weekend for a birthday and this request was not fulfilled. I did ask at the time of arrival to the hotel for a better room but was told none were available as refurbishment was under way of other rooms. I was unhappy with this as I had emailed the hotel previously and they had responded but did not say anything about the refurbishment of rooms or the fact that we would not be given a room with a decent view. I feel they should have informed me about this beforehand especially as I had specifically requested it. In the room we had there was no toilet roll holder and no towel rail in the bathroom.

Amazing value for money and it has a swiming pool! I was looking for a room for the night in Norfolk in the middle of the school holidays so you'd expect everthing to be really expensive and I came across this place. The bar was great with a large outdoor area with plenty of seats.

Having read the reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. Yes the room was a bit tired, the carpet was a bit stained where the kettle was and the toilet seat didn't match the bathroom but it's a small price to pay. The rest of the hotel was lovely, this place was the cheapest room in Norfolk with ensuite bathroom. Seriously people will complain about anything. The only thing I would say is the breakfast was a bit small for the price, would it hurt to add a second saussage and some seasoning to the scambled eggs?

As always Wensum Valley met all our expectations. The staff are always friendly and very helpful. The hotel and its surroundings are excellent.

Since their recent menu change there are no "light bites" available after 6.00. We would reasonably expect that hotel of this size would have the full range of eating options available until at least 10.00pm. The kitchen is obviously staffed all evening as meals are available so why not revert to the "brasserie" style menu that we used to enjoy and which gives the flexibility that was a major factor in choosing Wensum Valley again - YES we've stayed there before.

Lovely location, room size was good. There for a wedding. Nice venue.

Shower looked quite grubby so a bit off putting. At breakfast offered tea and coffee when we went in. Only a small cup and no further top ups offered unfortunately. Could’ve murdered a second cup to wash the breakfast down ! So this could be improved on. Cooked breakfast was average. Nothing outstanding. Breakfast staff seemed very disinterested to be honest.
