The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and looks like something out of an Agatha Christie novel. The room is very fair for the price charged as it is spacious and comfortable. The full English breakfast was really tasty and the staff were very friendly and informative. The bar is also very quaint, it just might need some more recognisable options on tap or a good cider (for those who can't drink beer).

Our room said that it came with a bath and after travelling a long distance I was looking forwards to one, but alas there was no bath in the room. The staff were also quite keen to get us booked in for dinner and asked 6 separate times over the two nights we stayed (they were very nice about it each time but unfortunately we had made plans for dinner already).

Breakfast was excellent, staff very keen to please and helpful. The bed was so comfortable, room Sorrel is a lovely size. Booking in was simple. Could add local taxi numbers to info sheets in the rooms, but the staff were helpful to provide numbers.

Could do with a bit of updating of the decor. The room appeared clean, but attention to detail was lacking. Ie High level cleaning. The step in the bathroom (sorrel) is awkward and easy to fall down. My husband did fall and twisted his ankle, and that was before wine!! Room was booked for 2 adults but we had to ask for water and biscuits as the room was set for 1. All little issues.

All staff here are super polite, bubbly and always eager to help. All-round brilliant hosts who were extremely accommodating and welcoming. The room was great value for money, with a comfy bed and a scenic view out of the window. I especially loved the en-suite shower which was huge! The cooked breakfast was delicious and included in our price. There is lots of parking space at the front of the hotel and the building itself is as pretty as the pictures. Will definitely be back again, couldn’t recommend it more.

The property was as expected for the price. The food was far beyond what we expected. We ate in the restaurant every night which we had not originally planned. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a very relaxed atmosphere. Local advice and knowledge from staff was very useful. At first I thought the room was a little dated but actually it was in keeping with the age and style of the building which is as it should be. This is definitely somewhere we would stay again when in the area.

Possible first impression is that the hotel is a bit dated and old fashioned, however the place is immensely clean, the room and bed very comfortable, the staff are very helpful and friendly, we had one evening meal that was top quality and over the 2 days we stayed the breakfast was one of the best especially the Kippers(need to be ordered day before). We would highly recommend this hotel for a short break in Norfolk.

No complaints but we would suggest the website is kept upto date, at moment still showing Xmas 2022 and Valentines day

The food, both at breakfast and dinner was exceptional - so many home made extras and delicious options. So good in fact, that we dined there twice which we hadn't expected to do! A couple of choices for vegetarians but they couldn't have been more helpful and offered several other things that were not on the menu.

We had two bedrooms and one had an excellent bathroom with lovely modern shower but the other was decidedly more basic which was a bit of a shame.

Great location, very clean and comfortable traditional hotel. The staff were attentive and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt they delivered a very personal service. The food was exceptional in quality, presentation and choice. Very impressed with how they coped with coeliac gluten-free provision. It was lovely to experience good old fashioned service in a hotel.

Cannot fault this hotel in any way.

The staff and service were excellent they went the extra mile to ensure your stay was enjoyable. The room was very clean and fresh. The breakfast and evening meal were extremely good and the use of local ingredients was evident which was great. They made both my husband , myself and our pet dog extremely welcome.

The room was cold on arrival and some of the furnishings were marked and tired with visible signs of wear and tear. The bathroom was extremely old fashioned and the shower was weak.

Beautiful property and dog friendly! Excellent customer service- they called ahead to check if we needed a dinner reservation, made up a table for us in the lounge with the pup, and remembered details of our plans. Our full English was so tasty and bed comfy. I only rated it an 8 as the room could be updated a little here and there, and we could hear other rooms at night which you can expect in such a lovely old property. We’ll be back.

A few minor updates needed in the room. There was a broken blind but the team said they would fix this. And a fresh printout needed for guest info as ours was stained.

We agree with every compliment that has already been posted by others; the room was comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful and the location excellent and accessible, but the stand-out is the food (including variety and choice, provision of gluten-free options and quality). Definitely a revisit to be arranged.

Nothing.
