Excellent breakfasts and perfect location within the city. We were able to walk everywhere, despite one of the hottest British Summers, (therefore great to cool down, within air conditioned shops such as Jarrolds). Visited the impressive Cathedral and enjoyed the adjacent green grounds following the breeze of the riverbank. Picturesque Elm Hill was recommended to us and again a walkable distance away. Vibrant market and lovely gelatos to cool down. Fun attentive staff gave us the heads up regarding the Mayors Parade, which could have impacted on our journey time to the airport!

Being a listed building without air conditioning favours a stay at a cooler time of year, although an air cooling fan did help during the presenting heatwave.

Lovely well-appointed immaculately clean small room (named Cavell) with ensuite bathroom of adequate size for a large man within hundred yards of market in town center, slightly less than a mile walk from station. Perfect for a short visit to Norwich town center. Very friendly staff, excellent freshly cooked breakfast at prebooked time: cook accommodated my foibles. Welcome brownie in room on arrival was a nice touch. Willing to store bags until room available. Family owned and run. Outside window opens for a breeze. I would stay there again.

Room is small but very well designed and appointed given the space. It is only just large enough to accommodate a Queen-sized bed with no space for a chair or stool on which to sit. Only thing to sit on in the room is the bed but lounge available downstairs

StGiles is a lovely historical set of rooms with great service and breakfast was lovely. No issues with service and facilities. The cakes and milk supplied on arrival was a nice touch and the hotel is in a great location for exploring the city

A small double room is not really a double room at all. The bed is 4'6 wide and not long enough for me at 5'11. The toilet is hidden behind the bathroom door, the sink is tiny in the room. The rooms windows are west facing and was so hot that the fan supplied made no difference. An uncomfortable sleep in a room more suited as a single.

We had a truly wonderful stay. The hotel's central location made exploring the area incredibly convenient. The thoughtful gestures, like the chocolates and birthday card for my wife, added a personal touch that made our visit extra special. After a long drive, the slice of cake, paired with tea and fresh milk, was such a comforting welcome—exactly what we needed to unwind. The room itself was beautifully appointed, with every detail carefully considered to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable stay. It’s clear that the team goes the extra mile to make guests feel valued and comfortable. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.

While our overall experience was great, there were a few small inconveniences. The TV signal kept dropping out, even after we reported the issue. The sash window wouldn’t stay up, making ventilation tricky. Additionally, while the rain showerhead worked perfectly, the hand shower didn’t, and unfortunately, the plumber wasn’t available until Monday to fix it. Despite these minor faults, we would absolutely return, the warm hospitality and attention to detail made the stay enjoyable.

St Giles is a lovely B&B. Our room was beautifully finished, the bed extremely comfortable and there were lots of nice touches. The staff we met were very friendly and bent over backwards to make sure we settled in smoothly. The breakfast was nothing short of superb. The area was central but quiet.

Our room was on the ground floor o and a little smaller than expected. It was right to prioritorise privacy by frosting our street-level room but the lack of a view was a little disappointing (even if it didn't diminish the very positive experience we had).

Friendly, helpful greeting on arrival and also fresh milk for tea and a home-baked brownie - just what I was ready for! The room was pleasant and comfortable with everything I needed and working well. Quality toiletries in the shower and a lovely thick bath robe to snuggle into afterwards. Location is excellent, right in the city centre but also peaceful, ideal location for the many restaurants and cafes as well as arts centre and theatre. Delicious breakfast in the morning with quality ingredients. I can't wait to return!

Warm welcome by Rory to a quirky period property and a very pleasant, traditionally furnished bedroom on the ground floor of the main building. Appreciated the modern shower room and comfortable bed in the Nelson, mid price range of this 10 bedroomed b&b. Location, 5mins from the market and close to wide range of restaurants was part of its appeal. Great freshly cooked breakfast in the small dining room. Early check in and 11am check out also appreciated.

Nothing to complain about. Some might not like needing to agree to breakfast time in advance. We appreciated that this was to manage the few tables in the small dining room and ensure good service from the kitchen. It isn't a cheap option but it did feel special.

Great location in the city centre but not noisy at night (I was on the 2nd floor at the back). Really comfy bed, good shower and lovely l'Occitane toiletries. Yummy chocolate brownie on arrival and also on my second night.The cooked breakfast was the best I've had and perfect for me. All the staff I met or talked to were really friendly and helpful. It was easy to come and go as I pleased and it felt very safe and secure.

When I had the continental breakfast brought to my room there was no little table to eat it from ( maybe it is for eating in bed!) And the coffee machine in my room didn't work. It would have been nice to have a shelf in the shower for toiletries ( just had to put them on the floor) and also a hook on the back of the bathroom door to hang up clothes/ dressing gown. It was very expensive to stay here.

The breakfast was the highlight! Traditional B&B menu with additional upscale options. All was excellent and we were stuffed. Communication was great with a call from the staff earlier in the day. Goodies in the room at arrival. The room was well appointed and really well decorated. Having a fan was a bonus as it was warm. Easy walk to downtown Norwich.

Street parking was a max 1 hour, so we used the parking lot down the street. Overnight was £12 so factor that into your budget. Easy walk however.

I absolutely loved everything about my stay at 38 St Giles. Unfortunately I took I’ll on my second day, which had nothing to do with the hotel, just the results of some stress issues. The staff all treated me like a family member. Nothing was too much for them. I don’t think my own family could have done more. The breakfast lived up to and exceeded expectations, in fact the whole experience was so much better than anything I could have anticipated. I take my hat off to the owner, Dennis and his magnificent members of staff, with a special mention to Danni as she was the one with whom I had the most interaction.

I didn’t like the fact that I didn’t know about 38 St Giles before, otherwise I would not have stayed at the three other hotels and just driven straight to Norwich. It was that good.
