Room was excellent. Bed very comfortable. Plenty of space. Light and airy - sofa was an unexpected bonus. Ensuite was very clean. Shower was powerful. All the staff we spoke to were delightful. The receptionist who sorted a taxi - when we couldn't get one. All the restaurant staff (with extra props to Ryan who couldn't have been more helpful). The breakfast was delicious. We had the continental buffet. The ham is homemade and the real deal. A great selection of fruit, pastries, spreads, and yogurt. With toast as required and a proper big pot of tea. We also tried the ploughman's sharing platter in the evening. Which was also terrific and very generous. Location was great- easy walk into the city and takes about 20 minutes.

We arrived at the hotel in the early evening on a Saturday, plenty of parking although car park was busier than expected probably due to the adjoining restaurant. We’d completed check in details online so quick and easy process. The place is like a tardis… lots of corridors and doors to go through to find your room, but luckily, pretty clearly signposted! The room was cosy and decorated in a nice simple and modern way, nothing fancy but doesn’t appear dated. Kettle provided with ample tea/coffee and proper sized mugs! Decent size wall mounted TV. Bed was super comfortable as were the pillows. Plenty of towels and some complimentary toiletries provided, plus everything was properly clean. Our stay included breakfast, which was served in the restaurant. Perfect way to start the day, before checking out and heading to Carrow Road to watch our team (QPR). The hotel is perfectly situated for visiting Norwich city and surrounding areas.

No view from the window, which looked out onto a flat roof and an air conditioner unit, but it was dark when we arrived and we didn’t expect to be looking out of the window anyway. Only downside to the hotel (which bothered my partner more than it did me, and the reason she says she wouldn’t return again), was the noisy pipes, you could hear the toilets flushing and taps running from all over the building in our room, consistently throughout the night. If you are a light sleeper, I’d recommend talking earplugs!

Located in a leafy area just 4 bus stops from Norwich Castle and the main strip of the city centre, the hotel is in a charming little building, with an attractive glass-fronted restaurant. Very easy to pop in and out to town, or even walk (15-20 mins brisk walk in nice weather). We felt welcomed by the sight of the hotel each time we came back. Service is warm but unobtrusive. The room was clean and comfortably furnished, with ample hangers in the wardrobe, and a very clean modernised bathroom. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Breakfast was reaonsably priced, and delicious. Extremely easy to get to, and it has safe and ample car parking onsite.

If I had to be fussy, the mattress was a little too soft, and the shower partition doesnt keep all the water in despite careful positioining in the shower area. However, neither of these would stop me from happily coming back to stay.

Rooms were clean, staff were friendly and breakfast (food) in the morning was good. Located just outside the main area of Norwich it takes about 20 minutes to walk or a short drive to get there. Air con in the room was very welcome on such a warm day.

Rooms were quite dated, shower caused a puddle on the floor. There isn’t ample parking (for the amount of guests anyway) as stated, it was a nightmare to get parked. Breakfast service was slow, filter coffee included in price was poor and they wanted to charge extra for a nice coffee! Our room was next to a fire exit that was flapping open when we arrived but we managed to get it shut.

Staff were excellent and couldn't be more helpful. Location superb for Norwich centre. Very easy public transport into and back from town. Bus straight to Wroxham for 'Roy's store' (and the boats) from almost outside the hotel. Really good breakfast choice on a morning and food and drink available for most of the day. Place was spotless.

Getting on in years I found the use of the shower in the bath to be awkward. (Staff very obliging and provided grab handles over the bath which helped). No complementary bottle of water in the room. A bag stand would have been nice.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food in the restaurant both for a light snack and then breakfast the next day was very good. The manager was there on arrival and was very friendly and welcoming. The room was very comfortable and bigger than expected as I had booked a single room. Parking can be a bit hit and miss but there was a wedding happening at the hotel that weekend and there are on the road spaces a couple of streets back - the staff were very helpful with directing where to go. I would definitely recommend staying here as it is very good value for money, welcoming and comfortable and a short taxi ride from Norwich.

The location is excellent! Quiet, but just off the main road with a short walk into the city and on the bus route. A good amount of free parking. The hotel is lovely. I didn't use the pub, but it looked very comfortable and bright. The room was simple, but clean and equipped with the essentials, and the bed was very comfortable. The reception area was nicely decorated and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

The pipes were a bit noisy when other people used their sinks, but I think I'm used to the more modern soundproofing of Premier Inns!

George Hotel is our preferred place to stay when visiting Norwich. It's in good location, has good parking and food in restaurant is great value for money and always well cooked.. Breakfast is excellent value for money. The staff in reception, bar, restaurant always extremely helpful. Our room was spotless. We stayed two nights on this occasion. In the restaurant on first evening we were served by Josh and second evening by Ryan who we think deserve special mention as do the breakfast staff and reception on both mornings and room service/ cleaning staff.

Check in process very friendly and helpful. Check out process including staff booking taxi very assiduous - staff member texted night porter to remind him that taxi was picking me up at 6:30am

On the day of my arrival, a Wednesday, I did not prebook evening meal, but changed my mind. At 7:45pm I was told that there was no food unless I was prepared to wait. At next meal, breakfast, again I did not prebook. I came down 15 minutes before the due opening time and saw no one for 10 minutes, and returned to my room. Arrived back in restaurant area 5 minutes after it opened, and took a seat for 10 minutes and was ignored. Had breakfast elsewhere

Breakfast was lovely as always We have stared several time over the last couple of years,so we know the form, however there was no invite/ explanation to the breakfast bar/juice etc, which I also notice either around me were also not invited to I has requested a room with a bath and feather free pillows which I was delighted to have been blessed with both. Thankyou very much appreciated

The bath/shower I feel was an accident waiting to happen, there was no slip mat or handrail to susport, No water supplied in the room which would have been a welcome especially as it was so hot The kettle is to big to fill in the sink, needed to fill a cup then pour into kettle The iron was a travel iron and not a full size, There is parking but not a lot, unless you arrive early which as experienced stayers we are aware of, there is off street parking but can be. Bit of a walk,
