Quite a surprise! The Castle pub is not too elegant from the outside, however, the accommodation in the cabin in the courtyard was excellent. It was warm, clean very spacious with under floor heating and air conditioning. The bathroom was modern. We had a microwave and fridge as well as a reasonable supply of crockery and cutlery. Continental breakfast was provided in the form of orange juice, milk, cereals, bread, butter and jams - more than adequate. Staff were very helpful, replenishing milk on request. There were car parking spaces in an area across the narrow street, which worked well. It is a pleasant walk to the cathedral and city centre. All in all very good accommodation. Value was very good.

Great location, short walk down the river to the town center, short walk the opposite way to The Riverside area with shops and restaurants. Excellent value for money with the continental breakfast, facilities and on site parking. Even though next to a busy roundabout room was very quiet.

One minor quibble, we were in room one, which looks out over a busy roundabout, anyone driving on the roundabout can see right into the room. Maybe a net curtain at the window would add a bit of privacy.

Lovely friendly staff, amazing sunny beer garden, interesting view of the roundabout with glimpse of the river. Great base to access the city, quiet considering roadside location, nice coffee machine, basic breakfast provision of orange juice, milk, bread from local bakery, cereal boxes, jam, toaster, microwave provided. Good shower. Good value.

Kerb appeal... Wasn't sure about it on arrival! Maybe a lightweight low curtain would be handy over window for privacy from road. Breakfast ok considering pub is closed until 12 not sure what else could work, but it'd be nice to have more options other than toast or cereal (when booking breakfast included was a factor, but really it was more self catering with a kitchenette).

Clean, spacious, 20 minutes walk to city centre. The castle pub itself was nice with a beautiful outdoor seating area, also 5 minutes walk to another pub that did lovely food. Would definitely stay again.

Bed wasn't very comfortable, although for 3 nights it was ok. Breakfast!! We actually thought we were getting a cooked breakfast, Our fault for not reading description properly, You just assume "breakfast included" means a cooked breakfast. Didn't get coffee or bread topped up, only had 4 sachets of coffee and a small loaf to last 2 of us for 3 nights.. Also we only had 1 toilet roll when we got there.. I'm sure we could have had more "loo roll, coffee, bread etc.." but didn't want to keep asking.

Excellent value for money if you simply want somewhere to stay relatively close to city centre. The rooms are separate from the main building and have en suite, large fridge, coffee machine, microwave, kitchen area. Could not get anything close to this price. 10 mins walk max from the cathedral Very clean Breakfast is small packs of cereal, bread for toast with jams etc, and a small bottle of milk and a large carton of orange. They are left in the room for you.

It's not a hotel, it is a pub with a rooms business. If you want a hotel, book one and pay a LOT more. Couldn't get the underfloor heating to work in rm 7 but the wall heater/ air con soon warmed the room up. Ideally I would have preferred a larger bottle of milk to make better use of the ample tea, coffee and cereals, but I appreciate not everyone would use it

The room included a kitchen and food for breakfast. The property was part of a public house but we were not disturbed by any noise from that area; although being on a main road there was a lot of traffic noise well into the night.

The bathroom was adequate although the skirting board was in need of replacing or great deal of refurbishment and the shower edges appeared to be in need of a deep clean. The shade on the kitchen window also required dusting. Otherwise the apartment was clean and the beds were fine. The gentleman working in the bar was very helpful.

The location was I thought in a pub , but it turned out to be in an converted building opposite. The small apartment had a bedroom, bathroom and small kitchen, with private entrance and parking. Although on a busy roundabout it was quiet inside. The breakfast provided some bread for toast, cereal, milk and orange juice, and a good coffee maker. Comfortable room with good bathroom. A good alternative to the run of mill hotels.

Wonderful warm welcome, immaculately clean, cute little breakfast, great position for walking into Norwich.

Noise from pub till 2.15am was a struggle, but we had read that on reviews already, mattress wasn’t comfy but lovely pillows and bedding smelt beautiful! Walking back from Norwich gates had been closed and we really struggled to get back 😞 this was at 7.30pm so not late. Towels were very small but did the job just fine lol

The Continental breakfast was satisfying and varies. It was brilliant having a functioning fridge. It was wonderfully quiet and self contained. Very clean and attentive concierge. Comfortable bed. The location was very convenient and very close to the river and tiwn

The TV reception was poor. It would have been nicer if the window could have opened wider Only having 1.room key was limiting

Room was very tidy and clean, with everything needed. Very generous with the breakfast supplies. Great room.

The only downside was the significant light ingress through the glass pane of the front door, which had no blind or curtain. As this is straight onto a main road it meant the room was very lit up for the whole night. This could be easily fixed and then this place would tick all boxes.
