We were the last down to breakfast so there wasn't much choice left on the buffet items but the cooked breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day. Would have been nice to be asked if we wanted anything but after serving us up our breakfast they were busy cleaning away. Another round of toast or some more coffee would have been nice. We were in room 10, lovely and spacious and large comfy bed with soft pillows. Plenty of wardrobe space and dressing table with sockets near - so many hotels forget us women like a mirror by a plug point! Selection of teas and coffees along with fresh water. Staff were all lovely and helpful, we actually got into our room and hour earlier than advertised. Bar staff friendly and accommodating.

The bathroom was tiny and difficult to get out of the shower and dry in there, you had to come back into the bedroom to dry off but the shower worked well and the complimentary items (shower gel etc) were nice. Lovely big soft towels. We had no trouble parking but it is an extremely tight entrance - be warned if you have a wide or large car! We didn't eat at the hotel as the menu was a bit too fancy for us, but its so ideally situated and there were plenty of other places to eat down by the river.

Well situated in the town with its charming buildings. Limited hotel parking through a very narrow archway - it’s better to find the council car park which is connected to the hotel car park - free on Sundays. We had a comfortable room with a spacious bathroom and a small walk in shower complete with non slip bath mat and fluffy towels.

This is a very old building so has uneven floors. The stairs to the rooms were steep and twisty - a little difficult for anyone with mobility issues. However, the staff were excellent and insisted on carrying our bags up.

Great location in the centre of town with everything you need near you. Breakfast was fabulous and very hot and good choice for everyone's needs Car park at back of hotel although very tight to get into but did manage to get a space

We booked 2 rooms but one was very spacious and had air con and a nice walk in shower with good water pressure, however the other one although was spacious had a bath with shower over it that had no pressure and the room was very hot with only a fan. Room 18 really needs looking at.

This is a lovely old coaching house in the very center of Ross-on-Wye. The atmosphere was warm, helpful and inviting and the room was impeccably clean and comfortable. We decided to eat in the hotels restaurant, which was one of my better decisions in recent times. The cooking at the Kings Arms is superb. It made our stay truly memorable. Many thanks to all the staff for your kind attention.

Although the room was really clean and very comfortable, the bathroom was starting to show signs of tiredness. In particular the bathroom extractor hanging off the ceiling! I was disappointed that it was not until Booking.com had confirmed my booking and taken my money that I then discovered, via an email from the hotel, that the stairs were unsuitable for customers with mobility issues, which both my wife and I have. However, this should not detract from a really enjoyable overnight stay.

Located in town centre, ideal base for visiting Wye Valley/Herefordshire area. Hotel has character and room was clean. Despite comments re car park on previous reviews we had no issues despite having a SUV car, indeed a Range rover and transit van got into car park. Breakfasts were good and evening meals were ok.

Our Room was at front of property so noise from traffic and street below had slight impact on sleeping. Evening menu is limited if staying for more than 3 days.

Good position in Ross, with Parking. Very old traditional Bar & Lounge etc, so very characterful.

Being so old, everything creaks in the place, so it can be quite noisy when the people above are walking around or…..😁 Plus - the Pub & Lounge below can be very noisy until 11.30pm, and the Bar next door even later, so on warm nights with the window open, it can be bothersome. Light traffic noise too. There’s always a compromise of staying in the centre of a town.

The location is in the High St and just a few minutes away from the river, church and other High St shops/pubs/restaurants. It looks very ‘oldy worldy’ from the outside and the same inside. Like stepping back in time a couple of centuries. The interior decor has been preserved or sympathetically reproduced and the main staircase is original as are the sloping floor in our superior double bedroom on 2nd floor. There was a few creaks from an adjacent room, but only to be expected as such an old hotel. The staff we engaged with were exceptionally friendly and helpful. And we could choose where we wanted to eat our meals (had breakfast and a Sunday roast) The car park spaces are limited due to location of the hotel, but we found a space and left it there for the 3 nights we stayed. There is a pay & display carpark directly behind the hotel where the charges were £6 for 24hrs. I would recommend for a short stay.

Our bathroom had a very small shower which may pose a problem if you are a large size.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good quality, local produce.

We stayed during a heatwave and although the room had air conditioning it was too loud to leave on at night. There was also a fan in the room. The bathroom was quite large however the shower cubicle was on the small side. Perhaps a larger walk in shower could be fitted at the next refurb.

Superior double room very spacious with a massive comfortable bed with crisp white linen. Lovely contemporary bathroom. Ideal central location. Warm welcome at reception on arrival. Dinner booked in the bar was superb. All food full of flavour. Good atmosphere in the bar too with first class friendly service. Breakfast too was excellent plenty of choices and full English breakfast very tasty.
