The George is a beautiful, characterful old pub. We were attending a memorial evening for one of our friends at the local woodland burial site. The chef at the pub produced an excellent buffet spread afterwards. As we lived quite a distance away we booked accommodation for the night. The room and en suite were newly refurbished and were very tastefully decorated. We had an excellent nights sleep in the very comfortable bed. Thank you to all the staff who made us feel very welcome.

Lovely room and comfy bed. The staff on Sunday were very helpful

There was nothing I didn't like. The only downside was the pub didn't do breakfast. I knew this in advance and was told the cafe down the road did breakfast. We went to the community cafe/shop on Monday, but they only did breakfast at the weekend. It didn't matter as they had hot sausage rolls/ pasties that were homemade and were lovely. Very pretty village

There was no breakfast, but this was fine as there were high quality coffee bags and Biscoff biscuits in the room, which was a really nice touch. The room itself was small but beautifully decorated and comfortable. The bed was superb. One thing I would like to compliment the pub on was having two log fires, both lit. I've lost count of the number of pubs that don't light their fires and it makes such a difference to the ambience when fires are lit. It was very much appreciated.

I had a lovely visit. I met someone for lunch and then stayed over. My only comment would be that our table faced the door and the room we ate in was quite cold and when we asked if we could move somewhere warmer we got a cool no! In terms of my stay the room was fabulous, the bed super comfortable and the shower very powerful. However the milk in the fridge had gone sour and by the time I discovered this it was too late to get some more.

Room was decorated so beautifully, and very clean. We had an evening meal when we arrived which was excellent it's the best Sticky Toffee pudding I've ever had. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The only problem is that they don't serve breakfast, because they have only two rooms and the kitchen doesn't open until 10am it makes it difficult to provide this service. We didn't mind because we had such a big meal the night before and we're still fairly full. Apparently there is a small cafe down the road from the pub where you can get some food.

Comfortable pub. Nice new bedroom No1. Great wood stove pizza with lovely outside dining area . We have dinner in the pub the following night , we all enjoyed our meals.

If you are after an early quiet night , then consider people are outside talking and drinking till closing time. The bedroom is above the pub.

Friendly, good food in the restaurant , clean and comfortable. Nice bed and pillows. Good selection of beer and wine. We were made to feel welcome.

Room was chilly and the heated towel rail in the bathroom didn’t work. £10 continental breakfast was poor- a pastry and pre packed croissant. We stayed on New Year’s Eve so expected some noise from the bar, but the music went on till 5.45 am which I feel was unreasonable.

Very nice room and ensuite with 24 hours access. The Inn’s staff were very helpful and friendly. Sunday lunch was very good also. No complaints at all.

We could not open one sliding sash window, possibly stuck with paint! Some conversational sounds of guests from adjacent room!

Nice country public with good restaurant. The room was small but comfortable. The location was perfect as we were walking the Test Way.

No breakfast is offered but the village has a cafe by the recreation ground which offers superb bacon and egg butties.

Very kind staff waited until my colleague arrived an hour later than expected. Also saw us off with a friendly chat. Great location for HET training nearby and only ten mins from Andover. Food was tasty too.

The room was beautiful but cold and noisy with cars passing in the morning. Bathroom was lovely and the bed was very comfy and beautiful.
