Nice pub, modern and clean. Free house a range of good beers on tap. We were attending a wedding nearby and stayed in one of the rooms above the pub. The rooms are slightly off the pub so separate. The room we were in was a standard, on the smaller side, but for what we wanted it was fine, en suite off the room free, tea, coffee and water available, rooms all very clean and modern. Fan included on the ceiling and an extra one added. The breakfast was really nice, full English with a drink included. We didn't really explore the area as it wasn't out intention. Overall can't fault it.

I loved the hot & tasty food and staff were excellent. The location is Axe 10m.one way to a Spar shop and just 20 mins to Newbury for a Take Away. The room and facilities were immaculate with, well spoken tenants and patrons. The area is perfect for seeing Calne and all around Marlborough. Loved the extra touch of a free coffee machine. Breakfast, and.Lunch were great..Had a great time, rrasonably priced, hot shower, powerful, good parking, beautiful marquis for events, just lovely, Thanks to All Staff at The 5 Bells Wickham.

Shower a little small but they uograded me to a double which was very friendly

The room was lovely, finished to a high spec, clean and crisp. Staff were lovely and very friendly. We went into the pub for dinner and drinks, although more on the expensive side, it was a lovely meal and was a relaxing atmosphere after a long drive.

There wasn't a plug near the mirror and no hair dryer in the room, not a huge issue but would of preferred this. The tea/coffee facilities were communal, which again we would of preferred in the room. We could hear next doors TV when we went to our room at 11pm. Would of preferred a black our blind but again no huge issue aa we needed an early start.

The food was fantastic. Had the venison pie and mash which was delish. Fire was lit and had a good atmosphere. Room was cute. Nicely decorated. Good shower. Clean. Staff were very friendly.

Could do with some comfy chairs to sit on in the pub instead of at a dinner table as I wanted to ready book and relax. The mattress in the twin room needs replacing as the springs didn't allow for a very restful night's sleep.

Loved the area and the look of the pub. Pretty thatch country pub. Huge garden out back with tables and options to sit in shade or sun. The room we stayed in was the biggest of the 5, and well presented, tidy, modern and clean. The roll top bath was lovely too. We ate dinner in the pub, meal was superb, all staff very friendly and welcoming.

Only thing was the mattress. Poor quality, could feel and hear the springs on the edges. Slight dip in middle of the bed. Mattress could do with replacing. Some repairs on wall by bed could be better finished to give a more quality feel.

I had a superb stay overall and hope to make this my regular accommodation when I am in the area! Good points, in no particular order: Easy to park right outside the pub. Room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The pub food is outstanding and very well priced. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I did not notice any noise from the pub (albeit it was a weeknight) - the rooms are not directly above the pub. Fantastic value for money!

The room far exceeded my expectations and the food and staff were excellent. Location for my need (Thruxton race circuit) was ideal, roughly an hour away with the Five Bells being located in a lovely village for walk. I was made to feel very welcome (being on a motorcycle still can be a 'challenge' at some establishments) and it made pleasant change to have staff who knew the food menu and could advise in a friendly manner, again, this is not always the case. would definitely stay here again and recommend.

Nothing - don't change!

This is a gem of a place that was everything we wanted. It was cozy and room very clean. In the bar, they serve a good selection of local drinks including craft beer brewed on site. Lovely gardens to sit and enjoy the fresh air and of course the drinks.

Would have liked to have a meal when we arrived around 5ish but were told in advance the kitchen closure time so we were prepared for this.

We ate in the pub throughout our stay. It's got a delightful locals vibe and we felt very welcome. The food exceeded our expectations... Sunday lunch roast was magnificent, and the Hake and samphire was fabulous too. Gutted to have missed the fact that they brew a beer of their own. Lovely countryside to walk in. The 11 am check out time was a bonus. A useful field at the back of the pub where the dog could run as soon as we arrived. The fire in the pub was georgeous. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Bit chilly in the bedroom (very cold temps outside) and on the first night in the dining room at the French doors end (chilly draught).

I understand the reasons and cost reasons but due it to being very cold this week, the heating went off around 11pm and it was cold in that room overnight. Also not your fault at all, but the guests below me were so noisy and had their tv on max till 12:30am and then made a helluva racket living at 2;45am slamming doors on the way out. So not a good nights sleep but I will be back as it is a nice place. These things happen
