The hotel is in a lovely location & suited us for the wedding we were attending nearby. We felt the staff gave 110% to make our stay really comfortable. A special big "thank you" to Angie, the receptionist, breakfast server & bar-maid who informed us before our arrival about the 92 eighteen year olds arriving for their prom at 7pm. She kindly saved 2 Executive twin rooms for us & let us choose the one we wanted on arrival. Room 18 on the 2nd floor, out the back, meant we had total silence during our whole 3 nights stay. Nicky, the housekeeper, also deserves a big "thank you" too. Our bedroom was large as was the Art Deco bathroom & bath. The beds were very comfortable & water was always hot. It was great to park right outside the hotel entrance too.

We found the shower to be a little on the small side with just a flimsy shower curtain. Although there is a full English breakfast on offer, there was very little fresh fruit selection & no croissants or pastries on offer today.

We needed a stopover on route from Harwich to West Wales and the hotel was perfectly located just off the M4. The house itself is a beautiful building in a rural setting and despite proximity to the M4 was really peaceful. Our room was great for one night, the decor might be a little dated and the shower a bit feeble but it's spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Our breakfast included in the price was lovely and I'd especially mention how helpful and friendly the staff are. All in all a great stay...and dogs are welcome (for an extra fee) throughout the hotel even at breakfast.

The shower in our room was a bit feeble.

Spacious room with lots of natural light coming in through the two bay windows. Room 20 was on the top floor and in a quiet section of the hotel. We stayed over a weekend and so we had a buffet cooked breakfast which was very enjoyable and whilst fried eggs were the standard we requested poached eggs which was no problem. The staff are all very helpful and keen to provide you with an excellent customer experience.

This was only a very small issue but the pillows were not very supportive and whilst there were spare pillows in the room they all seemed to be of a similar firmness.

The location for my Swindon site was excellent with easy access to the M4 but no motorway noise. The grounds provided an oasis of pleasure both for a "wander" and tranquil viewing. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom elegant.... oh and the bath sheet, a comfortable wrap after an (eventually) luxurious bath. This was my second visit and again an enjoyable selection of options both for dinner and breakfast

Sounds desperately petty but a leaky bath plug but (OCD) I do always carry a spare and not such a strong wifi as I had on my last visit. Not being able to stay longer

This place is a gem! Recently refurbished, the decor, furniture and fittings were superb. The staff were very helpful attentive and friendly and made our stay a joy. Dinner menu choice is excellent and the chef is to be recommended for presentation. Breakfast is buffet but well stocked with both continental and traditional English fare. We would come again without hesitation.

Our room TV proved to be problematic and reception was poor. Wi Fi in the room was also poor (upper floor) and is 'insecure' unfortunatly. If both these issues were addressed a 4or 5 star is surely on the cards!

Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings with staff amazing throughout check in to check out. Dog bowl at breakfast was a nice touch ( for the dog obviously ! ). Very good breakfast and friendly and efficient breakfast service.

Only criticism is levied at Booking.com really - please make sure its evident if an extra charge is made for dogs - her stay added 30% to my bill on arrival, although the staff and grounds are so lovely it made up for it. I’d just like to have known in advance. It wasn’t the best night’s sleep as there was quite a lot of noise at night - not sure if maintenance, cleaning or another guest. I didn’t have an early start so it wasn’t a massive issue, although I’d have felt a tad resentful if I had. Staff were wonderful throughout tho

The hotel is a Grade II listed building and reflects its history in its layout and appearance - terrace, large stairwell, etc. Our room was of ample size and the bathroom suited our needs. Our evening meal was excellent, as was our breakfast, served in different parts of the hotel. From our first arrival to our departure every member of staff we met was cheerful, polite and very helpful.

You can't please everybody all the time. We did find the bedroom rather warm, as the heating was on all night, but we compensated for this by opening the window again.

Traditional country house. Small hotel but very comfortable, we had a spacious room with a large bathroom. Two comfortable chairs to relax in which isn't always the case in other hotels. Breakfast was good, it was traditional English breakfast without more modern additions like hash browns. Nice sausage and bacon also large mushrooms. Cereal, toast and juice also available. Lovely peaceful garden with seating on the terrace where you can enjoy a drink in nice weather. The staff were helpful and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, if we are ever in the Swindon area we would stay here again.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like. Some people may find that there aren't enough facilities. There isn't a lift but for us that wasn't a problem. Some may find the decor a bit dated.

Excellent staff . Reception and service. All very helpful especially carrying the cases up to our room . Good selection of breakfasts with waitress service .Dining rooms well laid out .Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful Country House set in pleasant grounds. Large clean comfortable rooms serviced every day.

There were a lot of stairs some narrow and winding up to the top floor - The twin room had a good hot shower inside a fairly deep bath - but would be difficult for someone with disability to climb in and out of.

The hotel is a truly lovely old country manor set in beautiful grounds close (but not too close) to the motorway and with very easy access into Swindon. The staff were very friendly and we had a large and comfortable room. The breakfast was first class, cooked to order and served very quickly. The WiFi was very good.

The room was up 3 flights of stairs with no lift available and the shower was sub standard. The electrical sockets were all a long way from the bed which made charging a bit difficult.
