The staff were lovely, the food is good,room was comfortable and location is beautiful albeit by a busy dual carriageway. The pub is warm and cosy. The outside has plenty of seating area whether you're popping in on your way home from work or going for a catch-up with loved ones, there's a play area for kids, it's pretty good. If you want to stay somewhere with good atmosphere and good food, this is the place for you

The local traffic noise which obviously can't be helped, it didn't bother us but one of the residents moaned about noise

Not like a chain hotel which makes it nice. Well equipped room with all necessaries like kettle, iron, hairdryer and good coffee (Tylers) and biscuits. Big car park next to the Inn Located close to a park, nice area for walking or jogging.

Breakfast was served from 8 which is quite late for a work related stay. Also, a bit disappointed as there was no fruit, yogurt or heathy cold options, only high sugar cereals. The noise from the pub beer garden can seep through in the evening. It is open until 11pm.

It's the little things. Nice tea and coffee. A glass as well as a cup. Plugs by the bed. A nice shower. Then the big things. With 2 little dogs, having a door to the outside, having places to walk, the Coates water park is amazing. A very dog friendly pub. Breakfast included. The staff are nice. For us, it is a perfect place as a stop over between Somerset and Buckinghamshire.

Maybe bedside lights as the top lights were very bright.

While I didn't warm up to Swindon from what I saw of it, I loved the Sun Inn so much that I had a moment of thinking "I must come back just so that I stay here for longer than a night!". The room was spacious and vintage stylish, the bathroom had a skylight, which always wins me over, and both were immaculately clean. Every member of staff I interacted with, and I can immediately picture 5, were way above normal helpful and friendly, and just felt like truly kind and warm people, not just professionals doing their job. The weather was not of the sort to invite you to take a drink in the outdoors area of the inn, but it must be absolutely amazing on warm summer evenings! The rooms were in a complex a bit to the side and even the stairs towards and balconies outside of them had a quaint welcoming quality.

The place was close by a main road and very direct to reach, but without a car it's far from the city centre. It takes a taxi ride. Very easy to order though, again with the help of the staff.

Well located with regards to the people I was visiting, and easy enough to get transport or even walk to the town. Next to a pub allowing for a relaxing evening, and the room is comfortable and inviting. Bathroom had underfloor heating which was a godsend with the temperature dropping below zero.

Other people walked right past my rooms window, so if I wanted to get changed, I either had to go to the bathroom, or close over the curtains and put the light on, so a net curtain would’ve been a nice addition.

We stopped here for one night on our way down to Devon, so just wanted a cheap and cheerful option and found this place for the night. We were so pleasantly surprised - firstly the bed was SO comfortable and the rooms were really nicely done and clean and modern, really good. It was just off a main road so really easy to access but was so quiet when trying to sleep. It’s got dog friendly rooms and our dog had plenty of space and nice little grassy area nearby to have a potter about / toilet etc easily. The best part though was easily the price - excellent for what you actually get. Whilst you’re not going to be staying here for a holiday, it’s excellent for a stop over or a night if you’re nearby for a wedding etc. We found lots of places asked for £10-30 extra per night for a dog to stay which was incredibly frustrating (and ridiculous) especially when you just want a quick cheap stop over place without frills, so when we found this place that didn’t charge extra it was a no brainer and instantly drew us to it as a strong plus. We go every year to Devon from London and this was the first time we decided to stop off en route and having found the Sun Inn we’d definitely look to stop off each time we go now!

Location is excellent. Easy access to Town and Business Centres, but far enough away to be a quiet area. Adjacent to a country park which was great for walking our dog. The food was amazing, hot a freshly cooked, and the staff helpful and friendly.

We liked everything but a small suggestion would be for a bedside lamp to avoid having to put on the main lights if awake during the night.

The staff were nice and friendly, breakfast was I included in our room rate which was an unexpected lovely surprise. They had a fidge in the room as well. The food we had in the bar was lovely. It was nice the rooms were a separate part to the pub so noise wasn't too bad (apart from one evening where there was a function on)

I was charged twice for my stay. When we checked in I was told booking.com had not paid the hotel my payment. The hotel asked for my card details as they said they needed them for confirmation and then asked for confirmation that I had already paid through booking.com. they advised that i wouldn't be charged again for the room. Then they decided to charge my card for the cost of the room. I wasn't very happy with this. Their issue was with booking.com and have left it to the customer to sort out. I had to call booking.com to investigate to find out what was going on. My thoughts, the hotel should have contacted booking.com directly to investigate their issue, why charge the customer again knowing that it would be charged twice and leave this to the customer to sort out.

The Sun is a lovely pub with very helpful and welcoming staff and we were pleasantly surprised at how lovely our room was. The rooms are located just beyond the main pub next to the beer garden but they were still quiet and beautifully clean and spacious. The shower was great! The value for money was exceptional, the rate we paid included a hot and cold breakfast in the morning too. The staff went out of their way to help us including allowing us to have a drink late at night after we returned from a friend’s wedding. The Sun is situated next to Coate Water park also so we had a lovely walk around the lake in the morning. Would 100% recommend to anyone needing to come to Swindon and I myself would most definitely stay here again.

There is nothing to dislike!

We had a twin room with my friend for one night. The room was big with 2 single beds (quite small but comfortable), chest of draws, desk and a chair. There was a kettle and choice of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Location was nice, bear garden, children play area, lots of options for a walk, lake is a 5 min walk and we like a lovely garden with flowers by the lake. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Restaurant food was good and served quickly.

I wouldn’t call it spotless clean, there was some dust in the corners. Breakfast choice could have been better. But all this didn’t affect our stay.
