Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings with staff amazing throughout check in to check out. Dog bowl at breakfast was a nice touch ( for the dog obviously ! ). Very good breakfast and friendly and efficient breakfast service.

Only criticism is levied at Booking.com really - please make sure its evident if an extra charge is made for dogs - her stay added 30% to my bill on arrival, although the staff and grounds are so lovely it made up for it. I’d just like to have known in advance. It wasn’t the best night’s sleep as there was quite a lot of noise at night - not sure if maintenance, cleaning or another guest. I didn’t have an early start so it wasn’t a massive issue, although I’d have felt a tad resentful if I had. Staff were wonderful throughout tho

The hotel is a Grade II listed building and reflects its history in its layout and appearance - terrace, large stairwell, etc. Our room was of ample size and the bathroom suited our needs. Our evening meal was excellent, as was our breakfast, served in different parts of the hotel. From our first arrival to our departure every member of staff we met was cheerful, polite and very helpful.

You can't please everybody all the time. We did find the bedroom rather warm, as the heating was on all night, but we compensated for this by opening the window again.

Traditional country house. Small hotel but very comfortable, we had a spacious room with a large bathroom. Two comfortable chairs to relax in which isn't always the case in other hotels. Breakfast was good, it was traditional English breakfast without more modern additions like hash browns. Nice sausage and bacon also large mushrooms. Cereal, toast and juice also available. Lovely peaceful garden with seating on the terrace where you can enjoy a drink in nice weather. The staff were helpful and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, if we are ever in the Swindon area we would stay here again.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like. Some people may find that there aren't enough facilities. There isn't a lift but for us that wasn't a problem. Some may find the decor a bit dated.

We love to stay at Chiseldon House. The staff are great and so helpful, the breakfast superb. The cost of accommodation, in lovely surroundings, is very competitive. It is our favourite place to stay when visiting Wroughton.

We arrived on a bitterly cold night with snow on the ground. The radiator in our bedroom was not turned on. My pillow was rock hard but I was too tired after a long journey from Kent to make enquiries for a replacement. We noticed that Chiseldon House was looking a little tired in some areas which was sad but that did not detract from the enjoyment of our annual visit to this delightful hotel.

Excellent staff . Reception and service. All very helpful especially carrying the cases up to our room . Good selection of breakfasts with waitress service .Dining rooms well laid out .Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful Country House set in pleasant grounds. Large clean comfortable rooms serviced every day.

There were a lot of stairs some narrow and winding up to the top floor - The twin room had a good hot shower inside a fairly deep bath - but would be difficult for someone with disability to climb in and out of.

Ideally located not far from the M4, very pleasant gardens with no traffic noise. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We were there for a wedding, which was done extremely well. The food was very good both for the wedding breakfast and in the dining room. The breakfast was hot with plenty of choice. We had a standard twin room which was large and generally comfortable.

The stairs!! It is an old building with no lifts and no ground floor rooms. The menu was a fixed price menu with six choices you could choose to have two or three courses. However the food was good. The beds were a bit uncomfortable.

I was in the area for work and stayed here for two nights. The Hotel is in a lovely setting, plenty of parking and all the staff i encountered were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is just a mile off the M4, easy access to get back on my journey home. The room i had, no 6, was a good size. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot and everything worked as it should. I ate in the hotel for two nights and the food was very good, and so was the breakfast. I would have no problem in coming back here to stay.

I never had a problem here with anything.

Good choices at breakfast(would have liked hash browns!!). Easy access to other areas. The receptionist was lovely and helpful. As were the staff at breakfast. It was raining and she came after me with an umbrella! Lots of hot water.

The bedroom decor looked a bit tired. I had a bath and the plug wouldn't keep the water in! Plus the bath needed a good scrub. Then i tried too take the plug out but couldn't! So had to leave it in. I should have complained I suppose but don't like to! The windows were hard to open and shut!. Also the curtains need looking at as different lengths and holes in letting the light in. Just needs a few touches.

The welcome we received from the receptionist was wonderful. The hotel looks newly decorated throughout. Wonderful hall staircase a ceiling. Our double bedroom was large with en-suite bathroom with bath. Views of the grounds. Exceptionally clean. The breakfast was first class. All staff very helpful and friendly. From outside the building impression is that it needs refurbishing, but inside is immaculate. Excellent car parking facilities with plenty of spaces. Would highly recommend.

Only my comments about the outside needing some attention which I am sure will be on the plans. The bed was on the hard side.

A lovely country house hotel . Very clean. The staff were all very polite and very helpful. We had a lovely 2 course meal for £32 , the dining room was clean and spacious . The bar was very well stocked . Staff were attentive they gave you space and did not impose themselves on us . The food was delicious . Our breakfast again in the dining room was laid.out in the bar are _ self service buffet all element of cooked breakfast were hot and nicely displayed . Cereal , fresh melon pastries and yoghurt. At the table staff asked if we would like drinks and toast. Our room number 10 was massive , great sized bathroom bath shower and toilet were all modern . We really enjoyed our stay.
