The bar area was alright, but not in anyway inviting, a bit like being in a sports centre bar. I didn't eat there as it was not a nice area and the place is only a mile away from Saltash town, so ate out, but the room (apartment) totally exceeded expectations, and the staff were fabulous and very, very helpful. A lovely place full of lovely staff in a lovely setting... really, very well done

Bar / restaurant area could do with a revamp to make it a bit warmer / more comfortable & welcoming. It is a bit like being in a school cafe as opposed to anywhere nice, so that area could do with updating. Also in the rooms / apartments, PLEASE get rid of Nescafe sachets (really, nobody uses these anymore) and invest in some coffee machines (even Premier Inn's have them now). Just a 'half decent' coffee in the morning would be a big improvement

The property was a nice size with all that we needed inside. The spa was wonderful

I had requested a ground floor property, however upon receipt of the keys we had been given a second floor property . I did however go straight to reception to rectify this. Unfortunately they could not give me the ground floor due to given the property to someone else. The manager did take the time to come and speak to me personally and apologized sincerely. However this did hinder our stay based on that alone. We could have moved the 2nd day for 4 days to ground level but on our last day we would have had to move back to upper level. As this was such a hassle we stayed on upper level.

Fabulous space in apartment, clean and has everything we needed for self catering Great facilities for the family- swimming, mini tennis etc. Lovely friendly staff Hospitality were fab, cleaned everyday and made beds etc. Even set up my son's cuddlies each day in a different pose 😀 a lovely touch Easy parking on site. Pool and spa area was great, a good size and not too busy. Open long hours in the summer which we enjoyed. 6.30am-10pm Good buffet breakfast at extra cost, lovely lady served us and she was really friendly. Nice to be offered alternative egg options cooked fresh plus additional pastries too. Some people may struggle with the steep steps to apartments so should request a ground floor room.

The only thing I wished was that the coffee was better in the cafes and restaurant.... we had one in each place during the week and sadly they were pretty awful. But that is the only thing that I could comment negatively about.

I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the service provided by staff. Our room was cleaned daily, we had new towels daily. In the spa facility we were given new towels and excellent changing room facilities. Our two year old loved the pool and there was no restrictions on when we could use the swimming pool/spa facilities as a family with our two year old. In our accommodation we had all facilities needed for self catering and a good size fridge with freezer to store fresh ingredients and cook.

The spa treatments were fully booked during our stay. A little disappointed I was unable to book a treatment during our time.

The pool and sauna facilities were excellent. I went with my 5-year-old daughter, and she loved the pool slide—she kept going down it again and again. It wasn’t too crowded, which was great. The sauna area had a variety of saunas and was very relaxing. It was a real bonus to have unlimited access to these facilities. We also liked the room—it had a bathtub, which we appreciated, and the kitchen was fully equipped with all the necessary cooking utensils.

However, the bed springs were completely worn out, and my wife found it uncomfortable. Also, I felt that some of the room's equipment was starting to run down

Loved the Woodland adventure golf. It was fun. Loved the driving range. Possibly a bit pricey compared to what we are used to but a great view! Loved that the apartment was spacious clean, lovely bed linen, towels. Staff were lovely (even the poor guy who had to tell us no under 16 in Aqua spa was still very nice). Kids LOVED the slide - it made their visit. Pool open 06:30 so kids up again and back in it. Lady on reception (Karen?) let us have more Tea bags and milk and was lovely and welcoming and chatty. Didn't have time for the boxing thing, or ping pong - would go back again to do these. We ordered an Uber eats indian, and lots of crockery and cutlery to use in room. Food onsite looked fine but we appreaciated being to order different food. Parking plentiful.

Only small thing is the front door is opaque glass so if you are sleeping on the sofa bed in the lounge it is a little light. Plus room 33 main bedroom door creaks so if you're sleeping in the lounge you do disturb the main bedroom having to open their door and walk through to the bathroom to have a wee during the night.

The facilities are amazing, spa, gym, pool, spinning, squash, they have it all. The staff are friendly and helpful. The apartment was a decent size with a well kitted kitchen. The bathroom was very nice with a bath that had a shower. I enjoyed the breakfast. The staff called to let me know we forgot a jacket. Very nice experience overall.

The food in the restaurant was a bit disappointing. The burger didn't come with any salad only fries, so I bought a side salad to go with it but the salad was literally 3 leaves, a 1/4 of a tomato, some cucumber and onion...

The relaxed locatiom

we expected a better quality restaurant . The really nice part of the restaurant was closed to residents and only used for special bookings. Evening meals were not as expected and main restaurant a bit like a hospital canteen The easy access bathroom shower had a highly dangerous fold up seat. You only had to brush against it then feet came crashing down very forcefully , if toes were in the way you could easily suffer serious injury, holiday spoilt and likely unable to drive home due to foot injury

The Tamar apartments were fantastic and very well supplied, clean and comfortable. The best part was our 3 year old and 5 year old could stay on the sofa bed and we could have the privacy of our own room and actually get a good sleep.

There really wasn't much to fault other than pricing and quality of food on offer. The breakfast even when discounted was very overpriced for what it ultimately was, a very basic buffet style of pick your own bits and bobs. Everything served was over cooked and most annoyingly not piping hot. So for 40 quid we got a very underwhelming breakfast. Similarly the dinner and lunch menu of which we had a dinner and lunch was again, average in taste but sadly overpriced for what we got in my opinion. The booking site also made it sound like all was included such as the kids activities but later found out this was paid extras. The pool and spa facilities and waterslide though were all included as well as the ability to book out the indoor gym area so that was good.

Overall superb stay. Location is stunning The Apartment for us 4 was perfect - super clean and in great condition. Everything worked as it should. The Pool, Spa and Gym were beyond our expectations to be honest - incredible. The Staff were super friendly and helpful. Loads of parking Good Wifi

To us the only thing China Fleet misses is a decent restaurant that families can go into. The Brasserie food was basic, and it felt like you were in a corridor / leisure center cafe, hardly the feel of a £15 per pizza / main course place to enjoy a end of day relaxed dinner, especially with the soft play right next door (a great asset), but not ideal when trying to have a relaxing dinner. So in summary, engineer a proper dining experience there, and leave the Brasserie for ultra informal eating / coffees.
