The room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. We had the best nights sleep, it was so quiet too.

The cooked breakfast was ok, but wasn't keen on the sausages and bacon but that was probably just me.

The location was good just about 300mtrs out of the main town areas and only 100mtrs from the sea front. The breakfast was excellent with a great choice. The staff were very good and friendly and that's all staff around the hotel. We had a standard room which was basic but clean could do with decorating otherwise ok especially being on the same level as the restaurant and bar.It was a pity no entertainment being as it was Easter Car parking was great no problems.

We couldn't get WiFi in our room 203 which was slightly annoying. The hotel advertises carvery but when we asked they said it wasn't available anymore..

Food snd staff were excellent and location is good.

Single room was tiny and bed was not a full size single . Bed was uncomfortable Would not recommend the single rooms - they are awful.

The decor is "tired" but the building is lovely and could really do with a lift but the facilities and staff were great. The breakfast was good, unfortunately we did not sample the evening meal but if the breakfast was anything to go by, it will be great. The building has such a lot of character and history. A few things do need looking at - like doors not quite shutting properly but overall it was just such a lovely hotel, it shouldn't take long to get it into order.

It wasn't that we didn't like it but it could do with some fresh paint, the wardrobe doors didn't shut properly or the bathroom door, just little jobs that need seeing to.

My room was too small.I will choose a bigger one next time.My fault. We had breakfast after nine which meant ,sometimes De-Cafe tea was not available,we had to ask?

We did not go to the entertainment. Our room was not far from the (318) entertainment. The noise was loud and prevented us from a quiet night in.That is with the windows shut.It being very hot made it uncomfortable. We found out about special offers ,Bed Breakfast evening meal, when we were there two days,However our booking we understood did not include evening meal??

On arrival receptionist was friendly and welcoming and made the booking in process easy and faultless. All staff throughout the stay were friendly and hard working. Breakfast was buffet style and was cooked lovely 😍. Entertainment at night was great. Had a wonderful singer on who my mum absolutely loved and made our night. Was able to keep car in carpark after checkout which was a bonus. Very relaxed and friendly hotel. Definitely worth what we paid for.

The hotel was definitely short staffed due to a change over in ownership. This was apparent in certain areas of the hotel especially around cleanliness. Not the staffs fault working , as you could see they were working hard to maintain it but struggling. The hotel is not as royal as its name, definitely needs some TLC and money spent on it, as if not careful will become run down. This would be a big shame as the hotel is lovely.

The Hotel outside, hides the inner "Wow" inside, from the checking in everything was smooth and relaxed. The gent at reception got us the room keys and explained everything even some local info. the rooms were good, packed with facilities. Beds... Comfy and we all managed to have a very relaxing sleep. Breakfast was buffet and included cold and hot foods, car parking was easy . Staff... all were cheerful and very helpful, nothing was a issue with them. a great stay and would book this hotel again

unlike some places this didn't seem to have a room for all four of us as a family and we had to split into 2 room, which was not a problem but we weren't by each other, one was on fllor 1 and the other floor 3 which was a small pain.

Staff friendly and polite. Value for money and great location. Lots of history about hotel on walls.

Fire alarm sounded at approx 21:15 this wasn't a problem but. There was clearly no action plan to evacuate the building, no clear obvious staff member taking control. Hotel quests were walking around like zombies. Clearly, the majority of them had not read the instructions in their rooms. We were the only two standing in the designated car park. Needs all quests to be advised during sign in to read fire instructions.

The hotel itself is very, old and dated in areas .there is some work that needs to be done. There is money that needs to be pumped into this place And I really hope that it does get the attention to detail that it desperately needs because this place is amazing. There is areas that need attention like the carpets in the bedrooms some new furniture and so forth the staff were absolutely amazing. That is what makes this place .staff friendly accommodating And they go above and beyond to make sure your stay is a good one .The cleanliness of the room the bathroom was very clean Some areas needed a little bit more attention, especially around the carpet area and bedroom part And pillows definitely need pillow protection . stains on certain things in the room like the carpets the curtains this is what I mean when money needs to be thrown at the rooms to get them up to scratch. The bed was comfy. I had a nice night sleep. It was quiet . You also got free breakfast in with your room. There was a great selection and staff again were absolutely amazing very quick very accommodating very friendly and very helpful. Upon my stay, I was given the option of two rooms which I thought was very nice so I could go and have a look at the rooms and see which one I wanted now the first room had a complete sea view it was above a balcony of another room and unfortunately there were people underneath me smoking cigarettes and with it being very warm this week I knew that was going to be an issue. I wouldn’t have been able to open the windows so I chose the second room that was offered, no issues at all you still got a small Seaview i’m very thankful that I was offered A different room. This hotel has amazing history and it is lovely to walk around We will definitely be back again

New carpets needed new curtains and some furniture in the bedrooms Also, needed . guest were allowed to smoke on the balcony rooms when they were rooms above those this could be an issue for them who don’t smoke or who have health conditions

Large room. Pleasant staff. Nice breakfast options. Powerful shower. Reasonably comfortable bed. Great presentation of the room when you first take residence. Optional large sitting rooms to use.Big parking area so no worries about turning up and no where to park. Good value for the price we paid. We would recommend this hotel to others.

We had a ground floor room.Only a view of the drainage system from the window. Only the bins were changed daily, not bed linen. The building seemed to be suffering from damp stains on the walls and missing plaster in places but were not a health issue, just presentation on the public rooms. The breakfast tea bags were the cheapest , so a basic tea, sugar, milk cuppa tasted yuck to us, so we stuck to orange juice.
