Upon arrival, we were immediately given an upgrade from a double room to a suite which was very unexpected. One mattress was not fit for purpose and lacked spring or body, however this was immediately replaced having spoken to reception, after which we slept like babies! Thank you reception staff, excellent service. Family board games in the bar area was a nice touch. Basic but adequate cooked breakfast buffet style….. local Lincolnshire sausages could be sourced in future. Despite waiting, staff being absolutely run off their feet, the dinner offering was excellent and good value for money. Overall, a very happy family break.

Breakfast sausages, too cheap. Outside oil drum bins overflowing with rubbish, lots of weeds covering hotel name signs, so a general feel of neglect in the outside areas. TLC required.

Lack of cleaners for the communal areas

The staff were brilliant. Very polite and friendly. I loved the fact I had a balcony to sit out on, but the charge for this, considering the bed was only a single, was far too much.

Unfortunately this stay there seemed to be a shortage of staff. They had the same person looking after reception and the bar. At times this made the wait for a drink longer than was reasonable. I've been staying at the Royal for years now, but it is starting to look shabby and uninviting. Could do with a complete overhaul to bring it up to a standard befitting the beautiful building it is

Staff were excellent - friendly and very helpful. Big shout out in particular to Neeraj on reception who was very helpful. Room was perfectly fine for our needs and well proportioned Breakfast was very nice. Plenty of Parking Nice and close to the beach.

Nothing we didn't like - the Hotel itself is perhaps showing it's age a bit and could benefit from a bit of redecoration here and there, but that's merely an observation and certainly didn't impact negatively on our stay, - we would highly recommend it.

Absolutely amazing The staff r amazing the work really hard I was by myself solo traveling I was distressed on the first night and they helped me so much I booked another hotel but I was not allowed in because he had some kind of mental health care ssid I'm still waiting for a refund but this hotel was amazing I can't fault. the stuff the a absolutely amazing and I've even got a trial job with it and beautiful people beautiful hotel beautiful breakfast can't fault it anywhere shape or form and give them a 12 out of 10 the care compassion I received especially from max Simon but massive shout out to the lovely kind man on nights il never forget the kindness u have shown me x highly recommended and il be telling all my family and friends xxx and anyone I meet xxxx

Nothing was perfect

The staff were very pleasant and hard working. We got what we had asked for roomwise and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, couldn't have asked for anything better.

The hotel was very tired and needed a lot doing to it ,but saying that it didn't spoil our stay. Housekeeping wasn't what we would have expected, very dusty in places where you wouldn't normally look at, the shower was clean enough to use but really needed a deep clean. We only stayed 2 nights and our room hadn't been touched by Housekeeping at all. Not a problem for that length of stay but hopefully checked if staying longer. Location was very good as was just 5 minutes walk to all amenities.

I booked through bookings.com .. And I remember back in May I requested a slightly larger room as when we stayed last time it was a very basic room... Booking.com said they would pass on the request to the hotel and nothing else was said.. I was excited as we love skegness and it was also my birthday on the 1st July.. On arrival i spoke to the kind gentleman on reception that I would like to check in... With out any questions asked im guessing he must have read the notes on my booking. He said with a lovely smile... I have moved you to a superior room with a balcony and a sea view and passed us the key.. My husband and myself we couldn't believe it and we was so happy and thanked him. It was such a lovely room that had patio doors that opened out onto a large balcony... Really made our stay pleasant as it was very warm... We had the sea breeze and a lot more room than the standard double we normally stay in.. Bathroom was lovely too...

I really don't want to complian but the staff left at the bar was very stressed and was trying to stock the bar serve and pick up the empties... No one was coming to help her and she disappeared to get stock for ages... Which left customers standing at the bar waiting for drinks for a very long time.. The young girl from the reception area came over and said she was sorry but she didnt know where the bar staff was ... And wheh asked said she didnt know how to do the drinks.. Some of the quests did not appreciate that no one was serving... Not a good look for a hotel really...

We enjoyed the breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful: we did not stay for dinner so cannot comment. The bar area and lounge was comfortable and pleasant. The gardens were set out nicely with tables and chairs: We had one technical issue with a washbasin that was dealt with immediately by reception and maintenance. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

We did book a basic double room which was small and quite dark, with the view of a wall. The soil stack was not attached to the outside wall and was somewhat noisy. Would not have liked to stay in this room longer than we did. Needs some refurbishment and a little TLC

The location was good just about 300mtrs out of the main town areas and only 100mtrs from the sea front.The breakfast was excellent with a great choice.The staff were very good and friendly and that's all staff around the hotel.We had a standard room which was basic but clean could do with decorating otherwise ok especially being on the same level as the restaurant and bar.It was a pity no entertainment being as it was Easter Car parking was great no problems.

We couldn't get WiFi in our room 203 which was slightly annoying.The hotel advertises carvery but when we asked they said it wasn't available anymore..

The room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. We had the best nights sleep, it was so quiet too.

The cooked breakfast was ok, but wasn't keen on the sausages and bacon but that was probably just me.
