All the staff at the Railway were amazing - friendly, helpful, welcoming and provided great service. They made us feel most welcome and went out of their way to help. We ate in the pub and had the Sunday roast which was great value, good portion sizes and good quality food. Breakfast was fantastic, freshly cooked with quality ingredients and a steal for only £10. Accommodation is very comfortable and clean, perhaps a little tired in places. We were attending a wedding at Rise Hall hence why we stayed locally, but be aware that taxis are difficult to come by and need to be booked in advance.

I have been using The Railway Inn as my Uncle is in a nearby home in Hornsea. This time I came up on the 16th March until the 21st . I was contacted by the home to say there had been a decline in my Uncles health. I could not get booked on the Booking.com site for some reason so I texted to explain that issues and they booked me in straight away. I needed to extend my stay and this was no problem . The staff I had got to know as I have been coming since last June. They looked after me so well ensuring that I had a meal and drinks topped up. I sadly lost my uncle and nothing was too much trouble. Lydia and the team were so kind and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so much

lovely comfy bed, clean accommodation and having restaurant on site was great for our evening meal. staff were really friendly and attentive. Having onside free parking was great and was so peaceful looking out over fields.
Was quite cold in the evening because we could not get the radiator in bedroom to work, shower wasn't very good, hubby had a shower 1st and said water was nice and hot but when I went in couldn't get it to warm up so had a Luke warm shower. TV reception was really bad, picture and sound kept braking up all the time so had to turn it off. Didn't like the fire escape stairs when leaving on the Monday so would not book when pub was closed again to have to use that exit. cracked lamp at side of bed worried me incase it fell apart on touch.

The property was very reasonably priced. It was very comfortable and clean. I particularly loved the ‘pink’ in our bedroom and was hoping that would be the room we got after seeing the pictures online. The staff and all of the regulars in the pub were so so friendly and welcoming. We had a short wait to get into our room as the staff were so busy with serving customers which clearly speaks volumes about the place! I felt guilty to ask a couple of times if we were able to check in because it was clear just how busy they were but we had a taxi on its way, if not, we would have relaxed and had a drink until they weren’t as tied up. We were able to come in at our own leisure after the wedding and enter through the back of the building which was very well lit. When we left in the morning we had a brief conversation with some of the relatives of the owners of the pub and their lovely dog. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. We will definitely return. An ideal location for those at events such as weddings at Rise Hall as it was only 5 mins each way in a taxi. Initially it was difficult to arrange taxis but the accommodation provided us with the number for Hull cars who were fabulous!
There were no dislikes. All we can say is the staff were very, very busy so weren’t always quick to reply to messages on booking.com or email but that is understandable during busy working hours 🤗 We could see for ourselves when we arrived just how busy they were and they were so very kind and polite 🤗

The bed was really comfortable and the room was really clean cosy and warm. The staff was really welcoming and friendly. I made an error booking on the wrong date but it was resolved quickly without a quibble. A good location for hull, Beverley and Hornsea and it had a good view. Good value for money, would definitely stay again
The only thing we didn't like was the T.V. It was a good size but a bit outdated with only access to limited channels and no access to any apps like Netflix.

A very comfortable stay. Cosy room, nice biscuits, bottled water supplied. Dinner, which we enjoyed on the Wednesday was excellent. The inn was very busy, so booking is advisable. Breakfast at £10 per person was also excellent. Regardless of what you order, the charge is the same. A very generously filled omlete was the same cost as a full English breakfast.
The Railway Inn is currently closed to drinkers and diners on Mondays and Tuesdays which isn't really a problem as you can easily contact staff to arrange entry. Exiting and entry thereafter is via the fire escape. The usual stairs to the bedrooms are fairly steep, so care needs to be taken.

Nice location. Lovely view from the room. Comfortable bed. Clean room. Pub was busy downstairs but more for people eating than drinking. Food looked amazing and people were saying how good it was when they came to pay.
The shower thermostat seemed to be broken. Was either scalding hot or freezing cold. Didn't notice till the morning of check-out. No staff around to tell, unfortunately as we left before the pub opened.

As a lone visitor having to come up for family issues it is excellent for me. From the first time I stayed they made me feel welcome and went that extra mile. Making sure I did not feel alone. The staff spoke to me and included me in conversations with the locals.
Nothing really the only issue I had they sorted straight away. Not really worth commenting about as they dealt with it and more people should discuss any issues.

Friendly staff, nice and clean, evening meal great quality. Value for money.. Breakfast meal was high quality produce and also value for money.
Communication was poor, we were told no evening meals available but this was not the case. Breakfast was very odd, we were on our own, nothing self service, we would have expected coffee, juice, toast and cereals etc but nothing. We had to track down the chef and let him know we were ready. All a bit odd but I do reiterate top quality food and friendly staff.

Nice and clean room and Hotel/pub, the breakfast was tasty and filling at an average price, the other meals we tried were also nice, again at an average pub price, there was also a reasonable choice of drinks to be had.
The fact that we checked out on a Monday and the hotel/ pub was shut so no breakfast option was available, also it was advertised as dog friendly, however this does not count on a Sunday, so we had to sit outside with our dog to eat.
