I've worked a local festival in sledmere for years and have stayed at the white horse every year. It's changed over the years and the owners have invested in upgrading all the rooms to a really good standard. The bar and restaurant have also seen an upgrade over the years and it really does offer comfort and a welcome that is genuine and personable. The staff are great

I have to be honest when I first started staying at the white horse the breakfasts used to set me up for the day. Cooked with all the trimmings, now they offer continental breakfast which isn't as great for me, but its not a deal breaker. I have cereal and a cup of tea and then I'll grab a bacon sandwich at the festival 😋 Much prefer a morning cooked breakfast when im away though!

The room was immaculate and very well presented. It had everything I needed and more. Bed was super-comfy. The bathroom was exceptional. Lots of little attentions to detail, it is obvious that this place looks after it's guests very well and knows what they are doing. Loads of free parking on site, and although I didnt get chance to look around the village - it looks a beautiful little place. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was ok. A simple "continental" breakfast ie toast, ham, cheese, ceral. Which was perfectly ok, Could do with an extra toaster instead of just the one. There were about 8 people trying to use it at one point, although this did make us all talk to each other, and make each other toast lol.

Located opposite the village green with a children's playground and goalposts, the pub was running an easter raffle, bingo and quizzes, had pool tables and a large outdoor area where an egg hunt was run. The breakfast was continental self-service, with plenty of choice, including an egg boiler and toaster, porridge, cereal, joice and coffee. The shower was very powerful and hot. The staff were very friendly and always available to help with a smile.

The room was a little tired, and took me a while to get the TV working, but for the money it was but comfortable, a decent size and quiet at night, a bit on the warm side but we opened the window.

The staff were fantastic. We had an evening meal there and the food was delicious. Sadly for my husband, aa this hotel is advertised as including breakfast it is only 'continental' not including croissants and pastries either. My husband loves a good cooked breakfast when we are away. I'm just a cereal girl so it didn't effect me but a £52 per person per night I think it could be an option or cheaper to stay and a payable option. Could not fault the staff or the cleanliness.

Just the breakfast issue. It didn't say on the advert it was only a continental breakfast.

Lovely location, being attached to the pub I was worried about potential noise but the rooms are all in an extension off the back so this was not an issue at all. Room was spotless, a decent size, comfortable bed and a fantastic shower room. Everything in the room had instructions on how to use which I find very helpful. large TV, decent brew station. The food in the pub was exceptional pub grub, not overpriced, Staff were friendly and helpful and a real credit to the place.

This is a beautiful location, with all village amenities including a central pond, and large garden centre with market garden/cafe. Although not a full cooked breakfast, we really enjoyed a continental: boiled egg/s, ham, cheese, toast, cereals, juice and hot drinks. The staff were brilliant, from our cheery initial welcome, to very warm and friendly chat in the morning. THANK YOU for sharing your local knowledge, in particular regarding a local road closure, and for letting us use your secure storage for our bicycles. It was an ideal stop for our 'Way of Roses' bicycle tour. There is a large outdoor area with TV screen, so ideal to watch large sporting events, or just to watch the sun go down.

Our room (upstairs) was very clean and comfortable, but a little dated, however this was reflected in the reasonable price. The hotel is undergoing a full refurbishment of rooms, with many already completed (downstairs).

What a little gem this was. I was totally taken aback, only because it is a pub, and it was really reasonably priced which my experience tells me not to expect too much. But how wrong I was, the staff were lovely, the pub was surprisingly big and really nice..... but the best bit...... the food was delicious and of a really high standard, the menu was really good and the food was reasonably priced too which made it even better. Would definitely book again if I was in the area.

The room was a really good size, however the bathroom was quite pokey, and for a 6ft 1 big lump, it was a squeeze getting into the loo, and the shower was quite tight too. The bed was quite hard, but my biggest gripe was that I was there on the hottest day of the year so far, and could really have done with a fan or something to cool the room slightly.

Great set up! Keycode for 24hrs residents access from large car park without going through pub. The Outside Stable Bar with huge outside screen must be amazing when events on.

I had to leave at 05:30am for work. Only option was to leave key in room door which technically left me liable for anything that happened before cleaner notices it later in day?! Suggestion would be lock room and have a ‘drop box’ on way out.

Arrived to check in around 7pm. I had to go into the bar area and it was very loud and busy. The girl who I checked in with was very good, took me to my room and arranged for me to have a sandwich (which is usually only served at lunch). As I was having to leave the hotel 2 hours before breakfast served she organised me some milk, a packet of cereal, a small bottle of orange and some fruit for my breakfast. I thought this was going the extra mile! Bed was comfy and the towels were really white and fluffy.

The TV would not work and I was unable to get it working.

The room was delightful, recently refurbished and spotlessly clean. Lovely comfy big bed with plenty of pillows. Great facilities included for our stay. Staff are fantastic, very friendly and accommodating and the food, well, just amazing! Top class cuisine, terrific choice, generous portions and piping hot. Lovely outdoor garden and plenty of parking.

Can't think of a single thing!
