We enjoyed the Carpenters Arms for a number of reasons. We found the location excellent and our room very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and always helpful. The meals we had were all excellent with a good range, well cooked, nicely presented and good value for money . Parking was very good for the 7.5 tonne truck we had and access was good. Overall it was an excellent experience staying for a few days at the Carpenters Arms

There was nothing that we did not like at the Carpenters Arms. Everything about the Crapenters Arms met our expectations and in some respects exceeded our expectations.

Nice rooms, very comfortable beds (we slept really well). There was tea and coffee and snacks in the room, and an iron and hairdryer in the wardrobe, so everything you might need. Great food in the pub downstairs, which had a nice vibe. Hospitable staff. Plenty of parking places. A petrol station nearby that was well stocked! Also easy to find on google maps.

Everything was fine, but minor suggestions to improve: 1.) It would be great if there was a little side table to put your toiletries on in the bathroom - there's enough space and it would just mean your toiletries weren't falling off the sink! 2.) The room was hot, but I was too scared to leave the windows open over night, as it would be easy to climb into the room I was in. It would have been great to open the windows overnight (and feel safe!). There were these little wire locks, but they didn't seem to work. 3.) If you could put a handle on the inside of the fire escape door, as it didn't always shut properly if you weren't checking, which makes it a security risk.

What a superb find. We only stayed one night but we were so pleased to have found this little gem of a pub. The staff are super friendly and the pub exceeded our expectations. Lots of seating inside and outside and lovely beer garden at the front and back. Large carpark too. There are several covered areas with heaters and blankets provided for those chilly evenings . Our room was wonderful. A big shout out to housekeeping who ensured the room was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable and the addition of a basket of treats ,plenty of coffee, tea etc and fresh milk in littke bottles was a real bonus.There is an iron and ironing board. A fan provided also for those hot nights if needed. Everything was perfect. We enjoyed a great night's sleep and had a wonderful breakfast in the morning. A large pub but equally cosy and the staff deserve praise for ensuring it retains a homely feel. We would definitely recommend the Carpenters Arms and hope to return again. We didn't see a lift which maybe an issue for those less able to do stairs. We were unable to order any food after 7.30pm,which was a shame as we were just too late when we arrived but whilst having a drink,we did see a couple tucking into what looked like a hearty roast dinner. However we realise there has to be a cutoff time for serving food.

Very convenient for visiting National Trust properties in the area. Plenty of free parking. Friendly check in. Lovely room (4) overlooking the rear garden. Comfy bed, spacious, clean, good TV, tea/coffee etc, great shower. We had an evening meal in the restaurant. No need to book during the week apparently but advised at the weekend. Lovely food and reasonably priced. We made the mistake of not prebooking breakfast with our room so it cost us more than our friends in the morning. We had thought that £30 for two for breakfast was expensive to pay in advance and had intended to visit a local brunch facility but it's easier to just have the lovely breakfast at The Carpenters Arms (although expensive)

The waiter in the restaurant in the evening was surly and unfriendly. He was efficient but didn't crack one single smile the whole evening but you are charged 12.5% service on the bill and we felt that was not justified in his case. All other staff at the establishment were outgoing friendly and helpful.

Room was comfortable, staff polite. Lovely bar/pub downstairs and breakfast was delicious. Quite convenient for visiting Ightham Mote National Trust.

My booking details were printed out and on public view at the bar as you walk in (my personal details not kept securely or privately). I didn't like the need to check in digitally in advance of arrival (which is why my details were on display at the bar). I would have preferred to check in on arrival and my booking held on their computer until I arrived. There was a large cobweb from the lampshade to the wall/mirror in my twin room suggesting the room had not been fully serviced or not for some time.

Excellent size room and large bathroom with underfloor heating. Bed was exceptionally comfortable. Espresso machine and lots of choice for tea, coffee, hot chocolate. We chose to eat the breakfast and there was a super choice. Overall, it's the ambience and decor which make this place so appealing. Restful interior matching any boutique hotel. They even provide a bed and a bowl for your dog!

It's only downside is that it isn't in the heart of a village and the scenery around isn't that amazing. But a short drive from here are good towns and villages

Breakfast was good quality all around and the coffee was delicious. We found the music a bit annoying. The decor of the dining room and the pub is really attractive and sets a very nice ambiance both at dinner - which was really delicious - and again at breakfast with the sunlight streaming in across the outdoor seating area. It's beautifully designed. We stayed overnight and our room was lovely, beautifully presented and spacious. The bed and bedding were so comfortable. I loved the huge bath.

Although the inn was quite empty, the guests could have been spread out a bit more across the accommodation.

Outside - the property was attractively laid out with large areas for sitting, eating and relaxing, front and rear. There were heaters, blankets and comfortable seating, flowers and there was ample parking. Inside - very large, with several large, well furnished eating rooms, and also areas for sitting and perching. A large bar. Well decorated with many paintings and interesting furnishings. Quiet location in the country but near a small supermarket. Easy access to Tonbridge and Sevenoaks.

Nothing wrong with the property. The breakfast option had not been explained and from the menu it seemed as if a cooked breakfast had to be paid for, when it was included. Excellent fish and chips. The quality of the food seemed to suffer when it was very busy. The service was very good and quick. The servers and staff were friendly and attentive.

Met by a warm welcome on arrival and shown to room. The room was spacious and well equipped. Comfy bed and good pillows. Evening meal and breakfast was excellent and a good menu to choose from too.

No water pressure on my night of arrival so couldn't have a shower, however pressure returned the following morning so all good in the end.

Friendly, welcoming staff. Lovely location and room. Dinner and breakfast excellent. Would stay here again

I understand you need to take a deposit for any unforeseen expenses however I was not made aware that the deposit would be cashed on my card immediately and not reimbursed back to my account straight away. If I had known I would have paid cash as a deposit!!!!
