All of the staff were really friendly and welcoming, as were the locals too. We got to know the entire staff over the weekend, as well as most of the people in the bar. The Crown is run by a lovely family and nothing was too much trouble. We chose there due to it being local to the Silverstone Grand Prix, and the landlord even helped sort transport to and from the event for the entire weekend! Excellent food being cooked up, and a great range of drinks available, followed by a nice, large and comfy room was exactly what we needed after long days at the race track. 10/10 stay for sure.

A quiet, spacious room and bathroom, nicely decorated, in a very interesting historic inn. A peaceful location convenient for visiting Canons Ashby and Sulgrave Manor historic houses. We had an excellent dinner there in the evening (booking advisable). Breakfast is fix-your-own continental, including chilled items from a small refrigerator, cereals, nice bread and a very good selection of preserves. Cafetieres are provided to make coffee.
Two rooms are up a steep little second flight of stairs. Bear this in mind if you have mobility issues and ask for one of the lower rooms. Some shelving/hangers for clothes would have been useful but we managed out of our suitcases for the one night we were there.

Excellent value for money overnight stay. Warm welcome from landlord Claudio who was very attentive. Spacious room, huge comfortable bed, large bathroom with roll top bath & walk in shower. Very good self service continental breakfast. Excellent evening dining, can recommend foccacia bread & olives, the chicken supreme & king prawn spaghetti were both absolutely delicious. May seem a little expensive but actually you do get what you pay for as portions were plentiful and the quality was excellent.
It didn't spoil it for us but if you have any mobility problems, be aware that this is a very old building with some uneven steps & a difficult staircase. Some privacy film on the bathroom window would be nice as you need to have the blind down all the time. (Room 2).

Warm welcome and friendly service from manager and barmaid throughout the time we stayed; Decor & furnishings throughout were well presented and very comfortable - both in pub and room; Excellent food - we had lunch, dinner & breakfast; room was spacious, light and well equipped with huge bed
Breakfast is self service and is very well set out and provided for. Unfortunately the power was tripped at breakfast just before we arrived; However when owner arrived he quickly provided coffee and the situation rectified by the manager.

The room was clean and well equipped. It was quite a big room and so could have had a bigger TV as it was a long way away! That’s hardly a complaint as the room was very nice and we had a huge bathroom too. The welcome when we arrive was great, the food and beer in the pub downstairs was good. The breakfast is a help yourself continental breakfast, they have kettle, toaster and egg steamer for you to use. All the usual breakfast items and all good quality. Will be back if we are in the area again
The stairs are a little dark and a banister rail would be useful. Other than that I can’t find fault at all, very good place to stay.

We were met by the very friendly manager who took us to our lovely large bright room. There was large king size bed with a large en-suite bathroom with both separate bath and shower plus a selection of soaps, shower gels and shampoos. Dinner was excellent in the pub downstairs. Breakfast was self service mainly Continental style with a DIY egg boiler, toaster and microwave. No full English breakfast but everything was perfectly acceptable.
There was very little wrong with this hotel considering we used it as a one night stopover. Maybe there was a bit of noise from the pub below our room but it was not a problem.

I stayed for four nights . The staff are very helpful and on hand if I need anything . The room was exceptional . Bright clean and spacious. The room was cleaned every day The pub and restaurant was top class crisp and clean with a homely feel throughout, which is perfect . Fires at both ends of the property, keeping the area nice and warm. The food is top class and could find no fault with anything I ate plus they do a decent pint of guinness
I have no complaints

Fantastic pub in very quiet village, more than adequate continental breakfast provided on a self service basis, very handy for early starts. Comfortable room, great shower, nice staff. We only had one evening meal, pizzas, but very very good, expensive but very generous size.
Rooms very hot, to be expected in a very old pub. Could provide a better fan with long cable to direct air better, could provide a thin bed sheet as an option in hot conditions, just a thought. We had 2 rooms, one double and 1 superior double. Couldn't tell much difference in the rooms given the price difference. Couple of issues with food and drinks ordered on different evenings which got forgotten and never appeared, seemed to be a bit of a staff shortage? None of the above would stop us returning, purely observations for management benefit

It was not an easy place to get to following a my meeting I had in Northampton but well worth the effort as I was met by a cordial Claudia who welcomed me almost as an old lost friend, he could not have been more obliging. My bedroom was superb with everything I could ever need. The food was excellent and the breakfast was well set out. The location was quite picturesque and charming and I will certainly stay there again when next I am in the area on business and will certainly be recommending it to my friends and business associates.
Nothing!!!!!

The owner and manager went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The menu and the quality of the food at the bar and the restaurant were exceptional and the breakfast was a very good continental selection with the option of boiling your own eggs, which was great as that's all I normally eat anyway! The room we had was very clean , well presented and the bed very comfortable. The location is very rural so very quiet at night. Parking outside off the road was no problem.
The top (highest!) room at the Inn has a rather difficult stairway so I would avoid it if you have mobility issues.
