Staff were friendly and professional throughout. Beautiful setting, with panoramic views. Tennis court use included with equipment

The breakfast in the room option was not good. We waited over half an hour, and then had to call down, as still not received. Then 2 x breakfasts arrived at different times. The breakfast stuff was left in the room all day, even though we left the replenish room sign on the door. Had to request this with management as the food was smelling from the morning. All in all quite chaotic, and wish we had just went down for the buffet breakfast in hindsight!

Lovely historic property with a relaxing spa. Rooms, communal spaces, and the spa were all very clean. Beds incredibly comfortable, and we slept well. The Great Hall was a wonderful space to have drinks. Food was delicious both for dinner and breakfast, and the service was exceptional. The Cedar Restaurant was able to do a 5 course vegan menu for my birthday, and it was divine! The vegan menu was so thoughtfully put together, and beautifully presented. The spa itself was well-designed and felt spacious. With multiple saunas / pools / rooms we often found we had the space to ourselves which was peaceful and relaxing. Spa staff were helpful in giving an orientation of the spa area, and consistently checking everything was up to standard.

Our room felt rather tired, and the carpets in the bedrooms / upstairs hallway are well past their prime. We paid £230 for a basic room mid-week and this didn't feel like good value for money. We recently stayed at another Northamptonshire spa hotel and paid £180 for a room which was far superior. If we hadn't had such a positive experience in the restaurant and spa, I probably would have felt somewhat disappointed with our stay based on the room. Finally, dinner was delicious but costly - we paid £260 for two tasting menus and 3 drinks. Fine for a special occasion, but something to be aware of when booking as the hotel is fairly remote if you wish to find other restaurants.

The team at Fawsley Hall were exceptional. They were friendly, attentive and went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. They made great efforts to ensure my dietary requirements were met which I really appreciated. The hotel and grounds have a rural and historic charm and we enjoyed a long walk around the grounds. We loved the Spa facilities with 3 different types of Sauna, a steam room, jacuzzi and pool. Our room was incredibly comfortable and warm and the breakfast was delicious with a lot of choices on the menu for a cooked breakfast and also a continental buffet. Cannot recommend Fawsley Hall enough!

I can honestly say there was nothing that we did not like about this hotel. We had a fantastic stay and would like to return at some point in the future.

Breakfast was very nice and the staff kindly made sure we got all we wanted even though we arrived at the last minute. Dinner was also tasty. Our room and the whole place were absolutely delightful in all respects; obviously the great Tudor hall but also including the relaxing spa and pool and the charming mediaeval church in the grounds. The way the building has grown over the centuries and its more recent sympathetic modernisations make it a really special place to stay.

The bar staff, while helpful and willing, didn't do very well on making cocktails. A bit more training might be a good idea although it was all fine otherwise and we got lovely drinks after a short discussion

Came for a friend's wedding. The hotel was obviously experienced at doing this sort of thing, and they did it very well. We splashed out and stayed in the old part of the house, which was definitely the thing to do. Big room, big bathroom, very nice. (Others who stayed in more modern parts were less impressed.) A lovely old (like, really old - 15C in parts) building, in very pleasant and completely quiet countryside. Oh, and they valet parked my bicycle - top stuff!

You pay top dollar for the good stuff. So it ain't cheap. But you gets what you pay for. I'm afraid the house MC for the wedding was perhaps a tiny bit too fond of his act... He was among actors, though, poor chap, on this occasion, but he didn't always quite 'read the room'...

Exquisite location, ambience and decor. Old with a modern approach. Log fires, attentive staff, clean and quiet rooms. They totally understand special dietary requirements so as a coeliac I had the full choice of the menu but a gluten free version prepared especially by the chef for both breakfast and dinner. The room was a superior, the bed was huge and super comfy, shower and bath in the bathroom and plenty of freebies, cocktails, snacks and suchlike.

Hard to get the temperature right in the room. I left the aircon running at 20deg but overnight the large radiators came on full chat and I woke up extremely hot in a dry room.

Everything. It was a very nice week. Enabled us to get to all the places we wished to visit and was the ideal base to work from. Staff were excellent just as the food and accommodation. third year we have been staying and will be back for more.

There was nothing not to like

The Grounds,Spa, restaurant, and food were all exceptional. Had a lovely weekend escape. All staff were lovely. The restaurant/bar staff were particularly attentive.

The room was nice. However, felt that it was not exceptional given the cost. The room was split level (went upstairs to the bathroom) which was quirky. The light for the bathroom wasn't particularly bright and the mirror light didn't work, therefore quite dark. The sink was also cracked. Unfortunately, couldn't get the heating to work either.

Gorgeous location, property with interesting history, high level of service with attention to detail. Plenty of sauna options in the spa. Air conditioning in our room, which was great as we visited on a hot day. Comfortable bed, good shower and massive bath towels.

Room and hallway looked a little tired in places. Coffee at breakfast tasted terrible. Spa would benefit from an ice fountain! Reception staff deserve nicer-looking uniforms.

Wow, what an understated, unpretentious beautiful little gem of a hotel. We loved our stay here. The facilities were excellent, hotel and setting beautiful, and food delicious. The best thing was probably the staff - so welcoming, thoughtful and impeccably trained. We would definitely recommend it and come back.

The food was very tasty but overpriced and portions small. The breakfast is excellent, but we had an omelette that was anaemic, bland and a little undercooked. The hotel is a little dated in places, but overall very beautiful and well-looked after.
