i liked the location as it wasn't to far to drive too. i liked the cost of what was included. the staff were nice and wanted to help. food was good we had lunch in the bar and a 3 course buffet style dinner which was nice, a good selection and very big portions.

when i looked on booking.com it said it allows pets as we was going to bring the dog, but it didnt say the rate, it said charges may apply. when i emailed the hotel they said it would b an extra £60 to bring the dog as i would have to upgrade my room which was £30 and then they charged £30 for the dog. i have never had to pay that before for a dog and the most i have paid was £15. Booking.com you need to start adding how much hotels charge for pets as I probably wouldnt have booked this hotel if i would have known the amount, but i had already booked and then was informed of the cost.

Close to the racing track where my grandson was racing over the weekend

Arrived early so we could book the restaurant for our evening meal when the racing was finished. Very disappointed as was told it was fully booked, and we could eat in the bar area which was very busy. We had travelled over 3hours to get to the hotel and wanted to have after the race I nice relaxing meal in comfort. The bar was not appropriate to take my grandson into eat as it was very noisy and no seats with a table where we could eat. We also picked this hotel being near the track and having the charger points for my daughter to charge her car, which was broke. We booked 2rooms for the night. But felt we didn't get the service we had paid for

The hotel itself is lovely, however I do not walk very well and struggled to get to the leisure club but when I got there Brad got me a cold glass of water and when we finished he dropped me back to reception, he went above and beyond his duty and really appreciated it. Thank you. There was also another lady on the first floor who I think was the coordinator or senior cleaner, not sure but she was very friendly and checked I was ok. Thanks to you too.

How far my room was from the lifts or exists also the cobwebs outside the window. A fridge would help in this current heat to keep drinks in

Check out was at 10 went down for breakfast when we came back the door was locked we couldn't get back into room and it was only 9.50 so had to go back to reception to get another key card

We booked a night here after booking golf for a weekday afternoon and really enjoyed the course ending with a late afternoon drink overlooking the countryside. The leisure centre with the swimming pool was pleasant although the changing room is tiny and very cramped - bring a dressing gown or towel robe to head back to the hotel as it's a bit of a trek outside. The main areas of the hotel (and bar) are well maintained and were busy during our stay . Our room was basic but clean and overlooked the golf course. The rooms are equipped with kettle , tea and coffee (hidden in the wardrobe) but stock up on milk at check in as it won't be topped up. Lots of free parking and Ubers available to travel to nearby towns.

The room had everything we needed including iron, ironing board, fan etc. The tea/coffee tray was in the cupboard with the safe, which fooled us for a moment :-). Dinner very good, reasonably priced. Service good, although nobody checked whether we wanted dessert or drinks after main. Just an oversight, I think. We didn't anyway, so not huge problem. Staff very courteous. Breakfast buffet good and more than ample. Staff member explained where everything was as our first stay there.

Room very good price, so feel that saying that it needs a little bit of TLC a bit awkward, but perfectly acceptable. Cleanliness in general very good, but did notice a black rim around drain hole in bathroom sink which needed a bit of a fettle. TV remote very difficult to turn on and off. Shower not so easy as fixed shower screen so had to get in bath to turn it on, hence getting shock of cold water, and then having to lean back into it to turn it to get hotter water. it woke me up, suffice to say!

clean, spacious, comfy, clean towels and bed linen and carpet, kettle, biscuits and tea, tv, nice view, desk for working, safe, swimming pool, gym, nice walks, felt safe for solo female traveller, a lot of business people, pets allowed, big restaurant and bar area, business training rooms.

If I was nicpicky, a stronger light would make it easier to work in - but actually it was lovely subdued lighting to help wind down . I was by the first main fire door to the first floor corridor so I could hear a few noisy people walking by. Not sure if there is a quiet zone corridor that you could ask for.

Me and Sofia my daughter stay here nearly every weekend and this is by my daughters request! Andt I’ll tell you why, they go above and beyond to make her feel comfortable and special, you can’t put a price on that when it comes to my daughter, and when I say they I mean each and every one there, there isn’t one member of staff I can fault not one! , I see the bad reviews and quite honestly uncalled for in my eyes Ray you have a great set up and great team there, the chef even comes out to say hello to Sofia and that makes me feel so welcome, the food is superb and never had a bad experience , I’ve stayed at the savoy Hilton falsley and they are far more expensive to stay at and they don’t have the welcoming we get from Staverton I even asked if they had some batteries for Sofias toy and the staff on front desk were on it and delivered, what can I say, other than that’s why it’s our home while I have Sofia at the weekend, i just want to add Sofia has 2 people there that she asks about frequently when we are not there and they know who they I won’t say as I’m not going to make the other staff think that they are not important to me with helping me make my daughters time with me and the environment we are in wonderful, they all have my upmost respect and gratitude, thankyou to each and every one of you, I truly Feel blessed

Not a single thing

My wife and l expected simple accommodation for the price, but we were pleasantly surprised. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious for our one night stay. The bathroom was also to a good standard, with an adequate amount of towels. One slight niggle, the extractor fan had been turned off so the bathroom became full of steam. I stood on a chair to switch on the isolator. Not so easy for an elderly person to do. Should have been checked prior to stay. Staff were welcoming and friendly. There was a great range of choices for breakfast, continental, and full English. My wife particularly enjoyed the selection of fruit available. We would recommend and will be staying again. As a footnote, we are not golfers.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful. This is a very large hotel, and hence rather impersonal. The room was comprehensively equipped. The cleanliness was good. Basically everything was good, and a buffet breakfast is provided. Free parking is provided, but it can be quite a long walk to reception.

In the en -suite bathroom grab handles would have been helpful around the bath and shower. It would be very helpful and safer for rather more elderly guests. The buffet breakfast was not as good as a freshly cooked breakfast. Buffet breakfasts are normally luke warm, as was the case at this hotel, and especially eggs are better freshly cooked. There were no fish options. In many hotels, there are one or two extra staff who keep an eye out for guests who might appreciate assistance in carrying their food (and especially drinks) to their tables, but I did not see any at this hotel.
