We stayed in the Attic Suite - a quirky but cosy space, with a great big comfy bed, great bed linen, an en suite (which was open plan but screened from the bedroom by a dividing wall) and a separate lounge area - plenty of space for the two of us and our dog. We enjoyed breakfast in the sunny courtyard, and found the property to be brilliantly located for our short stay in lovely Wells next the Sea.

Nothing - but beware of the limited headroom in some parts of the Attic Suite (although this was also part of the charm).

Absolutely fabulous! Spacious apartment at the top of the building. Quirky with low ceilings and beams but well thought out accommodation. Spotlessly clean. Tastefully decorated. Superb shower and bathroom. Top quality breakfast. Well located close to lots of shops and restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful.

There was nothing to dislike as such. Points to bear in mind. No on site parking but found street parking close by. Steep stairs to the room might not suit everyone although staff will always help. Banged my head many times on the low beams but then I am well over 6 ft. Wifi didn’t work in the room but who really needs wifi???

Fantastic location lovely friendly staff the breakfast was excellent with a,great choice my wife had the Salmon & scrambled eggs & I had the full English & both were very good portions & locally sourced where possible & all the better for it the room we had - the Attic - was plenty big enough for us & had a large comfortable bed but obviously being an attic low ceilings there was also a lovely enclosed courtyard if you wanted to sit outside in the evening & plenty of nice local pubs etc nearby a very pleasant stay all round & would happily stay again

Only slight thing was the very steep stairs to the rooms if you were elderly or took an elderly dog but it's an old building & just part of its design & maybe instead of an open bathroom they could use a screen but that could be just us

Really lovely all round. Lovely friendly staff, nice room, perfect location and very dog friendly. The staff even gave twiggy my dog sausages for breakfast. Loved the map in the room too. And the very cold little fridge to put a few beers in.

Only two things. Security. I noticed that other guests didn’t put the lock on the outside door on so essentially the only security was my bedroom door. The code on the gate wasn’t working either so that was open too. On the Thursday night the sound of what I think was the kitchen vent was a bit intrusive but that finished by about 9. And I think the smell of kitchen intruded a bit too as my room was over the kitchen. These are trivial but security could have been a bit tighter and but more reassuring.

Breakfast was first class and in very comfortable and agreeable surroundings. Staff were very happy, welcoming and accommodating. We had an apartment at the top of the building. Very comfortable and quiet.

My wife has some mobility problems and it would have been better to know in advance about stairs which were quite challenging for her. (This information may have been mentioned in the advertising and I may have missed it). I was a little concerned about even the very unlikely need to vacate in an emergency. Staff were happy to help with luggage.

We had a ovely room up in the attic, the location was great with the 2 pubs and the green just around th corner and the hotel was on the main strip that you walk dow to the front on. The staff were really nice and breakfast was great

Unfortunately as we stayed on a Sunday the restaurant/bar was shut at 5pm and we didnt get there till 3 ish so we were able to use this which would have been nice, however it was only a short walk to the local pubs.

The choice of breakfast was varied to suit all tastes. Excellent! The room was of a very high standard, this is no ordinary B&B! Ideally located for mooching around the old town or as a base for walks and exploring. We also ate our evening meal here - delicious! Very dog friendly. Lovely courtyard for al fresco dining - even in the winter! Staff went above and beyond what could normally be expected.

A longer stay!

Brilliant location, free parking, lovely breakfast, nice staff, lovely large room. We enjoyed the long walk to the beach, for people who can’t walk far there is a large modern car park next to the beach with a large cafe and toilets.

Lots of great eating places in Wells, although lots of places stopped serving food after 7.30pm, mid week.

The location was ideal and the breakfast was really nice. The staff were also so friendly and helpful

The only slight issue is in the hayloft where we stayed there is a skylight and the heat coming in through it was really hot, it didn't spoil our stay but if it was possible I think a curtain or blind on the skylight would help.

Great location in middle of Wells. Friendly welcome, delicious breakfast, extremely comfortable bed. Well appointed room with nice touches such as fresh milk in fridge.

The Hayloft has a vaulted ceiling and I kept having to bend sideways to avoid hitting my head when getting into bed or making tea. And walking downstairs to the small bathroom wasn’t ideal. We could also hear the neighbouring room, or people in smoking area, but all that said, it was a beautiful room and lovely to sleep in.
