Perfect location. Good value as we booked well in advance. Breakfast was very good. Staff very great.

One small issue - there were roller blinds in the bedroom and bathroom which would be fine but as they are full length windows you have to close them to have any privacy from the buildings opposite which obvs makes the room dark unless of course you don’t mind getting dressed or sitting on the loo looking across to the windows opposite. Venetian blinds would work so much better as you could just tilt them. Nice view otherwise. It is a very old building so can forgive any decor issues etc

Lovely pub with rooms in a great location on Church Street, nestled among the shops on the way to the bottom of the 199 Steps. Our room was huge (we even had a small living room with a sofa and fireplace!) and the bed was comfy. The breakfast took a while to arrive in the morning but everything was delicious and very filling.

It's maybe a little tired - scrapes around the edges of doors where paint is coming off, a bit of rust on the bathroom mirror - but the facilities are all there and it's great value for the location. Some milk would have been nice in the room as well; we had coffee and tea and I would have expected at least some UHT milk.

Fantastic room (Helga Maria), lots of character, with low, beamed, ceiling (but fine for me (6'1")), and pleasantly spacious, located at the front of the Inn, overlooking the main throughfare. Breakfast was excellent, and the location is perfect for any sightseeing, being a few minutes walk from the 199 steps or either of the two piers. Evening meal was a little expensive, but absolutely worth it, and would totally eat there again. The bar is 'compact' and atmospheric, and the beer is good.

Parking can be a bit of an issue, as one would expect for the location, and the popularity of the seaside town, as a whole, but there are places within a short walk - I ended up having to park at the Abbey car park, on the hill, but then it was easter weekend, and it was uncharacteristically sunny, so I expected to have an issue - only a five minute walk down (slightly more going back up).

Nestled in my favourite part of the old town with all the gorgeous little shops the location is superb. We had no view at all but we didn't mind. It's dark and old but with bags of atmosphere and charm. The dining rooms are lovely. Breakfast is good but not exactly plentiful if you're starving hungry. It wouldn't do them any harm to throw an extra sausage or two eggs on the plate instead of just one. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfy and the bed linen was gorgeous and soft. Nice big walk in shower but water temperature was erratic. We will definitely be returning because it's just a lovely little place and we enjoyed our stay very much.

We didn't dislike anything.

Cute little dog friendly b&b is in a great location nexto all the whitby fun. A firestick in the tv would be a great addition. Alot of stairs, but we were aware of this when booking, so it's not an issue. Shower was fine. The actual bar area is quite small, which we weren't expecting. Staff friendly. Breakfast could have been hotter and I didn't realise toast didn't automatically come with the fry up until after ( it does state at the bottom of the menu it's available though but I didn't notice until after ). Bin hadn't been emptied in our room from previous guests, and snacks/tea/coffee tray hadn't been refilled either. All in all though, would stay again and was value for money

The room was very comfortable and warm. Kettle, coffee, etc. provided, we just had to ask for milk. Simple check-in, we were also shown a side entrance as it was early evening when we arrived and the pub was full, so we didn't have to carry our bags and walk our dogs through. Yes, dogs, some rooms are dog friendly. Ours had a hearth on the fire still in, so the dogs' bowls were perfect in there. The shower took a little bit to warm up, but the pressure of the water was great. Breakfast was lovely. Location is perfect.

There was no view out of our small windows, only of a roof next to us. That's the only thing we could have wished for.

Brilliant location, lovely room, good size and good quality mattress although personally found it a little firm for my liking but this is always a difficult one.

Really disappointed by the breakfast. Asked for well done bacon and sausage, neither were, snotty poached egg, tomato shown to the grill and rock hard when menu listed 'roasted' although personally I and many others would prefer tinned option as you know exactly what you'll get, beans were on a tiny 1cm sauce tray, not really a 'portion' and clap cold. I understand the chef is busy but we were the first in the dining room for a good 20 minutes so should have been much better. Cleanliness of the room was OK but could have been better. I didn't notice on booking but the steep steps and fact some of the rooms at on the 3rd floor isn't great for people with mobility issues, I think this should be made clear on booking.

Ideal location. Characterful. A very nice restaurant, both for the evening and also breakfast. The room was also very comfortable and clean.

I am only listing the dislikes because the question is there to be responded to. I would not like to detract away from it being a very pleasant overall. So here goes. The restaurant was a little expensive. The bar was also very small and lacking in atmosphere. There is no parking at the hotel and one must use the public car park 350m away. Other than that, all good.

Great location, awesome breakfast, and restaurant. Friendly staff were always ready to help.

Rooms are decent but access to some of the higher rooms i would not recommend for the elderly as the staircases are frighteningly steep, narrow and twisting!!! Walls are thin and I could hear every single word the occupants below were saying to each other! Very creaky floorboards which i could hear the occupant below complaining to his wife about to the point where he's even shouted up "can you stop bloody moving around up there!!!" I didn't want to but had to go down and calmly put him in his place.

very old hotel, very quirky, has creaks and bangs of an old building, ideal location with parking nearby (council carpark £11.90 for 24hrs) good breakfast, didn't use restaurant as we were always out at that time but menu looked good . old school bar but shuts at 10pm

not much room in bathroom, no where to put toilet bags etc would be better with a walk in shower or shower enclosure as opposed to one over the bath, this wasn't a family room or suitable for severely disabled
