Fantastic quirky hotel some great things to look at, like stepping back in time! The communal areas are just amazing and so relaxing and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. The sea/Abbey views are breathtaking to wake up to and the bed was so comfortable. Amazing location for exploring all over Whitby. Overall a really pleasurable stay.

Unfortunately a few things were off for us. No fridge in the room to store the milk they provide or for items/medication of our own. The continental breakfast was lacking for the £10 charged per person. The room whilst amazing in character was a little grubby and needed a spruce up. I get its quirky and for that i absolutely adored it but dirty marks from hands etc was a little off putting. Remember your usb/c charger plugs! In our room the bathroom was very dimly lit so not ideal for shaving your face. No hanging area for clothes

Clean, quirky and welcoming. Eclectic collections of curios adorn this lovely hotel. Note that breakfast is a light continental offer. Fresh milk and orange juice supplied to each room daily. Very warm welcome and everyone is keen to assure your comfort. And - fabulous views of the Abbey, St Mary’s and the harbour.

Parking - took a couple of circuits to find a spot but this is typical in Whitby -just be prepared. The lighting in bathroom and bedside was too quirkily dark for our liking; there was no bedside lamp with light enough to read by. Also a nuisance if you needed to get up without disturbing your partner! Our room had no wardrobe but we managed perfectly well with the hooks & hangers in our lobby area, but this may not suit everyone.

Loved everything about our stay at La Rosa. It is so cute, quirky, vintage and different which is definitely our vibe. We stayed in the La Rosa room which was absolutely beautiful, I loved the bathroom! All of the antiques were amazing and the view was fantastic. Fabulous location and staff. The cocktail library is gorgeous, as were the cocktails! I was very surprised when they could make the creamy ones vegan as they stock vegan cream, it was surprisingly a very vegan friendly little place. Cute little bottles of oat milk left for us in a morning too. Everything is so well thought out and all ties in together with the vintage Victorian vibes. We absolutely loved our stay here and would love to come back it was fabulous.

The hotel is absolutely fantastic location and packed full of character. Quirky, unique and full of novelty, we were really impressed by the personality that our room and the rest of the hotel had. Lovely, warm and welcoming hosts added to the experience. The view of the harbour and Abbey from our window added to the charm.

Not the comfiest bed we've stayed in but that is a trade-off for the bespoke character of each room I guess. Some rustic plumbing choices in the bathroom. But that really is me just being churlish. We could have had 'perfect' and soulless or a couple of minor blips and what is surely the most Whitby hotel in Whitby :-)

The views were spot on ..😘would I go again maybe all depends on price top end hotel that doesn't include parking or breakfast unless you book direct with owners you get a better price on deal the place was clean Quirky and interesting staff great the room we had was outlooking the sea was noisy from boyracers going up the road like ding bats BUT the views made up for it ...

The most unusual place we have ever stayed in, in the best way possible. Absolutely perfect for the area and the Whitby vibe. Quirky doesn't even come close! The lovely staff and the perfect attention to detail, the fabulous breakfast in bedroom service, the views of the Abbey and bay. I could go on but you need to experience it for yourself to be able to get the awe of the place. I would say though open the desk if you are in the Lewis room, cheeky! The bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever stayed in! Like a cocoon. The big deep bathtub was glorious. Thank you so much for our last minute booking, we were blown away by the whole experience. If we come back to Whitby it will only happen if we can book with you.

The staff were all amazing and very friendly. Customer service was definitely a 10/10. The room (the crows nest) was themed beautifully and it was super clean. The cocktails in the cocktail bar were amazing, and the breakfast was so good! The bathroom was spotless and it had everything you would need for your stay. There was plenty of room for a family and all the rooms were super unique and interesting to investigate. The beds were very comfortable and the sea view helped me to have a great night's sleep. Can't recommend enough!!!

Incredibly friendly staff, such attention to detail at the reception and downstairs rooms too just like in the bedrooms, loved the list of recommendations on you receive on the back of the sheet of house keeping rules/wifi info etc, loved John the hotel dog, bed was insanely cosy

Some parts of our room were quite dusty, but understand things aren’t going to be spotless when there is so much fun/interesting decor that is unusual shapes

Truly the most gorgeous hotel, the friendliest hosts (shoutout to the sweetest boy, John the Dog), and the best bath I have ever been in. Quiet location away from the crowds, but 5 minutes walk into the heart of Whitby. Incredible views; take a brew outside to the end of the road at 15 minutes to sunset and feel your whole soul lift. We will be back.

We hated leaving. The hand soap is not as edible as it smells.

Such a great hotel - must be the best location and views in Whitby, looking straight over to the Abbey. Staff were lovely and the hotel is very quirky with interesting stuff literally everywhere. La Rosa room was great and bed very comfy. Nice bath too.

Nothing - it's great. A shower would be handy but the bath was nice so you don't mind at all.
