excellent location . close to a car park. great views breakfast was fine, plenty of choice our room was comfortable, bathroom was clean

the public areas felt a little grubby and there was a fatty smell hanging the building was surrounded by sacoffoldjng which obscured our view . they were having the paintwork done so there was a slight smell of paint in the room and the external windows had been left open whilst the paint dried. (there were a secondary set of closable windows) whilst this wasn’t a massive problem it would’ve been nice to have been prewarned so we could e decided whether to still stay or not.

First time we have stayed in The Dolphin. First of all we dropped our bags off early, and where told our room would be ready at 2 o'clock. Came back at 2, bags were already in our room, and ready for us. Room was lovely and clean. Lovely bathroom. Bed was soo comfortable, got a lovely sleep after our night out. Next morning went down for breakfast. A table full of options inc fruit juices, cereals, yogurts, rice, etc. Ordered Poached eggs, bacon, and mushrooms. Which were absolutely gorgeous, cooked to perfection. My partner got a full English. Will definitely be back again, as the breakfast alone is worth the stay. 😊👌

The hotel is just over the bridge in the old town, tbh we were not expecting much however, the room was spotless, the staff were really good, more than managed our expectations. The breakfast was really good, food served hot an with no fuss. My sister and I really enjoyed our stay hear, and we would not hesitate to book again. We elected to say an additional night however, the Dolphin was fully booked, so we had to stay elsewhere, which was ok however, the breakfast was not as good at the Dolphin

There was nothing we didn't like about this hotel

We wanted to be central and we certainly were. We had room 2, so we had a brilliant view for people watching above the bridge and down the harbour….superb. But it was noisy until 11pm when pub music ceased, but street noise continued (outside hotel’s control). Lovely warm and cosy room. Room above us would probably be best room in the Hotel. Staff were fab, and breakfast was really good too. Good value all round, as we were so central. Would definitely stay again. Thank you

On-site parking which is not available anywhere but we did find a free space a 15 minute walk away. So that was fine.

Excellent position right in the middle of everything, staff on a morning for breakfast was lovely and couldn't do enough for you ,and the assistant manager who checked us in was very helpful and polite ,the breakfast was excellent.

Could do to have a bigger window for times of breakfast we needed to leave earlier than we did on our last day but we wasn't going without breakfast because we had paid for it and the accommodation price is quite expensive, I suppose that's what happens when it is in an excellent location ,but I would look for something a bit cheaper in future ,there was quite a few places offering rooms for half the price we paid .

The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very big, clean and had everything we needed. The view was absolutely beautiful, breakfast was included in the price of the room, this was really nice and the service was lovely. Honestly could not fault our 2 day stay, the location of the hotel is perfect and we were able to fill up our time enjoying the sites and experiences Whitby offers. It is a busy pub but we didn't mind that and liked that we were given keys to the room and main door to come and go as we pleased.

We love the location of the Dolphin, we have stayed at the Dolphin for the past five years in every room the view from our room was excellent.

The cleanliness of the Dolphin wasn’t up to the usual standard, we had a great view but the windows were filthy, the room was very dusty, I had to clean the toilet before we could use it streaks of pee down the outside of the toilet pan, we usually like to sit in the outside area and have a drink but it was filthy, tables were filthy, ashtrays overflowing and I didn’t like seeing all the staff congregate together smoking while going in and out serving customers at one point there was six sat together

Very friendly & helpful staff who ensure you have a good stay with them..I'm an early riser and love a desent coffee in a morning before breakfast ,the staff were happy to make me and hubby a couple of free coffees.Room was lovely,spacious & a amazing view of the harbour!!

The only down side was the amount of steps to our room.I have MS so was very challenging and would of liked the option of a first floor room that would be easier for me.On the up side was the wonderfull view though on the top floor!! So even though the amount of steps was very challenging, I'm pleased I chose the top floor!

The location is excellent overlooking the harbour , the staff , Jen on the bar / reception helped unload our bags & carried them up to our room. Very clean room lovely white towels & bedding , had a good sleep. Breakfast very good with choices.. Nice coffee .Very close to some nice restaurants & pubs We liked Whitby

The parking , had to leave the car in a 24 hr Car park , but its such a short walk , probably worth it to be in the location we were.

Spacious room with very comfortable bed with lovely bed linen and decent sized towels. Good view over harbour to see swing bridge. Central to Whitby everything to visit within a 10 minute walk. water and fresh milk in a fridge on the landing to help yourself to; and good quality coffee bags in the room.

Sort walk to hotel from carpark £18 parking for overnight and the morning. car park recommended was full. Food was good; limited menu and traditional pub grub; fine for an overnight stay. Breakfast very good; fruit salad could have been fresher but lots of toast and coffee and pancakes good. Nothing else to say that we didn't like.
