Breakfast was excellent our room was amazing far exceeded our expectations. It's situated in a picturesque area a bit of a challenge to get to but well worth it. Would definitely stay again. The back story of the community clubbing together to buy it to save it adds to the charm.
Perhaps checking in. We arrived on a Friday night after a very long journey. The pub was very busy and people were clamouring at the bar to order food and drinks. We had to wait with them. Perhaps a bell at the end of the bar for accommodation guests to ring when they arrive to alert the staff to the fact you are there could be considered.

We chose to stay at The Trawden Arms after learning of its history and the fact that it was community owned. The standards all round were excellent - friendly and professional staff, comfortable accommodation and delicious food - good value breakfasts and lovely evening meals. On the Saturday evening of our stay, there was a live band and the pub was buzzing. We were made to feel welcome and were chatting to other customers who were shareholders in the pub and who were very rightly proud of what the community had achieved, not only with the Trawden Arms but also in with the other community facilities they had all worked hard to create. We would happily stay there again as there is much to explore in the local area.
Our room was beautifully and tastefully decorated and furnished, fabulous shower. The only area that we felt could be improved was the main lighting. The vintage style bulbs meant that the light levels were very low and given our room was on the ground floor and near some outdoor seating, for privacy we needed to have the curtains closed most of the time we were in the room (perhaps a voile or venetian blind would help negate that). But that is a very small concern and did not impact at all with our satisfaction for the venue overall.

Freshly cooked, the breakfast was plentiful and I enjoyed every morsel. (I particularly recommend the sausages!) It really kept me going whilst I was out hill-walking. My private, comfortable, accessible downstairs room in a separate building alongside the pub was a good size, as was the en-suite wet room, with a powerful dual-head shower. Designer furnishings and fittings gave an ambiance in keeping with the building's former life as a joinery, and the individually-controlled heating was super-efficient. Trawden Arms is a very popular newly-refurbished and stylish pub, open-plan but with separate areas giving an intimate feel away from the boisterous nub, It serves the most sumptuous meals on a par with the fare of a top-class restaurant. I ate there every evening (including pizza Monday) and was blown away by the chefs' accomplished combinations of flavours. I yearn for lamb, well here I found it and it was delectable. Even humble fish, chips and tartare sauce was at a different level. Chips tend not to meet my standards but these were A*. I've just got to sample the pies!
In terms of accommodation, nothing. But whilst the location was ideal for my planned walk to Boulsworth Hill, not having my own transport was a disadvantage on the occasions that the scheduled bus service let me down. This was obviously not something Trawden Inn could be expected to remedy, and taxis worked out fine.

A great pub! I wish it was my local. A good range of beers, well kept. My evening meal and breakfast were really excellent. Staff were helpful and friendly and the locals happy to chat to visitors. It is located in a community minded interesting village at the edge of dramatic countryside. My good sized room was spotless, had interesting decor, a good shower and comfortable bed.
Small points, but they would have made my stay more comfortable- as others have said, a shelf for toiletries and a hook by the shower for a towel is needed. It’s not really acceptable to have to use the toilet seat as a shelf. But compared to how good everything else was, this is a quibble.

Great Community Pub - fantastic in fact. Great beer, good food and a really nice homely atmosphere. Rooms are spacious, modern and well furnished. They are next to the pub in what was the original Mill's old woodworking workshop so unlike many pubs you don't get the noise late at night. Breakfast was excellent (veggy full English in particular and I'm not a vegetarian). Staff were great. This is a beacon of community support and with the industrial history of its locality it is a testament to the efforts of the community to keep it as it is, I really enjoyed staying there.

Everything about our stay was wonderful. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless and very comfortable the bathroom was lovely. Views were cute too. We booked a table for dinner and the local football were celebrating winning the cup. Was a great atmosphere full of very happy team members and supporters. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Despite how busy they were, we still received great service. Food was amazing. Everyone who was celebrating were all really pleasant and friendly some apologising for the noise levels when we hadn’t complained w e actually ended up joining in with some of the singing and dancing. The room was brilliant. Separate to the pub with its own separate outside stairs. The bed was very comfortable and facilities all great. Even a fridge in the room! We will defo be back! Thanks so much and for the late check out too. Much appreciated!
That we didn’t stay a second night! Honestly nothing we can fault.

Lovely atmosphere, bustling in the unusually sunny and warm weather we have been having for the past week or so so, but plenty of space and attentive staff. Excellent and interesting food; they serve the usual pub grub, but also a number of quite unique additional dishes. Very good breakfast, good coffee. And a good shower.
I loved the The bathroom fittings, reusing old industrial products, like galvanised pipe fittings, and a beautifully restored wooden floor, carefully sealed against water ingress. But there needs to be a LOT MORE shelving and other fittings suitable for bathroom accessories. Eg for tooth cleaning accessories, shaving kit, showering accessories. There is a danger that ,tho NHS have to be out in top of the wc flush unit - and then fall in!

Stayed 4 nights here, lovely place to stay. Host was very friendly and on hand if we had any problems (we didn't). Good location with a bus stop next door. Also across the road is the community shop, selling an array of goods and not over priced. The rooms are self contained with a separate entrance to pub. Very clean, well equipped, comfortable bed and nice shower. Breakfast was very good and cooked to order. Food generally in the pub was very good and it seemed a popular place with locals. We had a great stay here exploring the area and wouldn't hesitate to come back. Highly recommend the Trawden Arms.

The staff were all exceptional, courteous, friendly and extremely helpful. The place itself was a bustling hive of activity well used by visitors and the local community. We were made to feel very welcome. The food was varied and tasty with a great breakfast too. The room we stayed in was very well kept, clean and cosy. No intrusion unless asked for.
There was nothing to dislike. The car park can get very busy at certain times, but was never a problem.

Thanks to Jamie Manager who made our stay fantastic , all staff polite professional and friendly . Thanks to Teagan and Grace xx Community were very friendly . Food Breakfast excellent but select only a few items as it’s massive with high quality produce . Each evening excellent menu served in the pub with home cooked food.
